Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

So we are back at BWI CL! Yes, we were just here 3 weeks ago! So big news....we somehow got an amazing upgrade to a deluxe room! We had a standard booked so that was some major pixie dust. We walked in and my DH turned to me and said what did you do?! It took a minute to convince him that we got upgraded and this was not my doing. The room is amazing so I think disney knows what they are doing when they give you these upgrades, now I'll be tempted to book the deluxe room. Staff has been wonderful, as always!

When do all of you give your gift to club level cast members? In the past we always gave ours at the end of our vacation. However, last time my husband pointed out something my tired eyes didn't notice. The cast members at the end of the trip were not the same cast members for the majority of our trip. I want to be fair to everyone that helps make our vacation magical. Our gift is not monetary.... it's regional foods from a local gift shop.

We've always done it at the end. It's my understanding they put them in a breakroom or pool them in some manner so that everyone assigned shares. Maybe if what you are bringing would only last a day provide it twice? Once midway and again at the end? We always bring a box of mini Moon Pie's (they are made here) I figure they last a while, more than a day so hopefully everyone that wants one gets one

Hi! We'll wave at you from over here at CR! Seems like several DISers around the world this weekend! Hope you have a great trip, and nice upgrade!

We have been at BC since Wednesday. We received a requested room change after spending one night in the very noisy rm #5699 which is adjacent to the only currently working service elevator.:crazy2:Not a good start to our trip as the noise was intolerable.

We were not escorted or greeted upon arrival. Even though we have stayed CL every trip we did not get a frequent guest gift. We also did not get a welcome letter or printed itinerary, absolutely nothing in our room was personalised at all, a bit of a disappointment as in the past we have received either fresh flowers, a fruit plate or some other treat upon arrival.

We also learned that in park purchases are no longer being delivered to the room and must be picked up at the club lounge or front desk after club hours. We were just at AKL in March and that was not the case there.

I hate to sound so negative but as guests that don't eat much at all in the lounge, I am wondering why I am bothering to pay so much extra to stay CL.

Thanks for the reply. We do a little goodie bag with huckleberry chocolates, jerky, and popcorn, all with flavors and seasonings you can only get locally. I like the idea of 2 different times. That way no one that wants any will be left out.

I'm sorry to hear your trip is less than stellar. I'll ask BWI about the delivery service to see if it's property wide or a BC thing.

I think this is a product of online check-in. We have stayed in 4 different CLs this year (including BC) and no greetings. We also didn't get a BC welcome letter or "gift". The gifts seem to be resort specific, some have them, some not. WL was the best (nice chocolate set from The Ganachery). CR had a gift (set of chocolates). AKL had granola. Nothing from BC.

If you don't value the food (and the convenience of the food), then CL really isn't "worth it" IMO. Turn down service has become spotty (by request only at BC), the DSS isn't really useful IMO, ... For us, the lounge space and food offerings are why we do CL, we don't use the other perks.

Yes please ask for us if this is a CL wide thing or just for the BC. I was just explaining to my son about how this worked at CL so if it's changed I want to let him know before they go. Have a great time at the BWI!

Sorry you aren't having the perfect stay. We were there 8/15-23 and I felt BC cl was less then magical as well. We weren't greeted either (wasn't at poly last yr either) and I asked a cm in the lobby if we could just go up. He escorted us up and we were checked in there. We had a personalized letter (from check in cm but no printed itinerary). Our room was fine and nothing personalized there once we got there (unlike poly who left us chocolates and a nice note). I felt the lounge offerings were good although service was a bit lacking in my opinion. There were days I waited over 10 minutes for a drink while the cms were chatting with other guests. There were a few times I just gave up on getting a drink and went back to my room. We were greeted welcome home when we would get off the elevator but that was about it. A lot of times it was just the obligatory welcome home, not the friendly type. It was just ok. Nothing special. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Can you tell me more about the printed itineraries? Are they for resort activities or do they include park hours as well? Also, do they include your dining reservations?
This is something I wasn't aware that was available - hope it doesn't go away!

It's a print out of your MDE itineraries (right from online). But we only had this once... at WL. Not at CR, AKL, or BC. As with everything Disney, your mileage may (will) vary.

The printout is basically your mde itinerary. Had our days and scheduled plans. You can print it yourself at home though it was a nice touch. Had it at the poly. They will give you the activities calendar and park times/show times when you check in though.

Congrats on the upgrade! Hope you're having a great time :).

Hope you're having a great time and enjoying CR CL :wizard:.

I'm sorry your BC CL experience is less than stellar, but I hope you are enjoying the rest of your trip overall :flower3:.

I'm starting to worry based on many recent experiences. Part of the reason we pay for club level is for the extra magical touches. I loved when they met us outside from magical express. I loved my packages being delivered to my room plus the personalized touches and the chocolates. We are staying at the BWI and I'm wondering if we should have opted out of club level.

Is room package delivery something most club levels still do? Specifically interested in the Poly. Thanks!

You will love the BWI CL! Do not opt out of it. The cast there will make your trip very special. I love staying there whenever I can. It is so hard for me to get my cast discount there, so when I do I consider it a wonderful miracle! Cannot wait for our December trip.

Was planning on WL or Poly CL(most likely poly) for our next stay since BC CL was a bust. We wanted to stick with what we love or risk not enjoying our stay as much. Now I'm debating GF. I loved the pool and grounda on a recent visit. My kids didn't care for the lobby or main building but they aren't paying what is the main differences between RPC and Sugar Loaf besides location? If we did GF we would most likely stay Sugatloaf to do cost. For the main building price, I would rather Poly. I love Hawaii. How is it being in an outerbuilding? Is it a lot of walking? I cant tell how far the beach pool is from Sugatloaf just by looking at a map. The only restaurant we really have an interest in there is narcooses. How is fireworks viewing from the resort? Is it like poly where you have a great view? At my families request we will be eating breakfast and dinner at ohanas regardless where we stay. Another plus for poly. Thoughts?

I was really excited for our YC stay 9/12-9/15 in club level- but with the recent posts I kept stalking the YC rooms and a GV opened up and I switched to that but added the DDP.

I just don't want to be disappointed. If I pay for CL I expect turndown automatically, lounge offerings available during specified hrs and not for them to run out, not having to wait more than a minute or two for a glass of wine, curbside greeting and dedicated check in, and hopefully some type of welcome gift and letter so it seems like me choosing to stay CL with them is important.

I mean if you don't get those things then you are paying extra for nothing.

I am going to try for POLY CL next year since it seems to be the most consistent.
