Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

A little off topic, but I thought I remembered reading posts on the DIS from people who had first floor rooms at Poly on the beach, and random people would be on their patio, sitting in the chairs, or taking the chairs out to the beach area to watch the fireworks! Is that still an issue?

We just returned from a July 4 stay in a LV first floor room. This was actually the first year in about the last 6 or 7 years that we did not receive a voice message to put our chairs inside our room on July 3 and 4. Or, in the alternative, housekeeping would put our chairs inside when they clean. I'm not sure why they weren't on top of that this year, but we never received a message. I wouldn't say it isn't an issue anymore - people are still quite bold about coming right up on the grass and near the patios to enjoy the show. Last year, a CM stood on the walkway in front of Hawaii and did not let anyone on the grass. This year, they were allowing people 10 feet of Hawaii grass space, and a CM was indeed enforcing it (after we spoke with a manager because the crowd on the grass near our patio was getting out of control). I'm not sure why they changed it this year or if it just slipped through the cracks.

One year, we actually did have people take our chairs! And they were sitting right on the Hawaii grass (in our chairs) when we returned to our room around 8pm. As soon as they noticed we were in our room, they actually put our chairs back without our having to ask, but still....

I was wondering if anyone knows why the Poly garden view club level rooms for DEC are discounted more then the other club level rooms/resorts? It is my first choice for this trip, as it the monorail resort we haven't tried, but am just wondering if I should know something about it...

Has anyone here had experience staying Poly CL or Boardwalk CL during Princess Half Marathon weekend and would be willing to share their experience?

We stayed at the Contemporary this past February and I ran the 10K and PHM and felt like royalty in the Atrium Club. My son and I both received personalized good luck letters, they had water and peanut butter and bread out at 3am for those going to the race and I loved the celebratory mimosas after the race. My last PHM weekend I stayed at a value resort as a solo trip so I wasn't sure if what the Contemporary did was standard for that race weekend for CL stays or if it was a little extra. My parents were with me and enjoyed watching me run by the resort, too.

I'm considering Poly for someplace new and ease of my parents getting to the TTC to watch or Boardwalk so that they can watch my son run the 10k. I know all resorts have convenient transportation to the Expo and race starting line. Thanks for any info or advice you can share!

My wife stayed BWI CL this past Feb for the Princess Half weekend. It was her first Princess Half so she doesn't really have anything to compare it to, but she enjoyed BWI for the race weekend. She liked being relatively close to the start/end of the race, being somewhat close to WWOS for the packet pick-up, and being able to walk to Epcot post-race for a little fun with her girlfriend.

They appered to do a few small things for the runners... a congratulations note in the room, Bud Lite in the lounge for brunch, they were making ice cream sundaes for afternoon snacks (some of these could be normal BWI CL things, I'm not sure). They have a chef making food in the lounge on Sundays anyway, but they loved being able to get a fresh omelet post race.

She was in a Deluxe Room on the 3rd floor, which had a great balcony overlooking the Boardwalk. They had a great view of one of the early races, I guess the 10k? Although it was EARLY and did wake them up.

Including a few pics of her pics below. Happy to ask her to elaborate further on anything!

One downside I found, room discounts were hard to come by that weekend, if I remember correctly - not just at BWI, pretty much everywhere!

Had success with DSS securing reservations this morning at our 180 day mark. They were able to score every restaurant we asked for. Via Napoli was too late for Marathon eve so I switched it to a late lunch ressie when we got home from DD's dance Nationals today. NBD, it is now literally an hour and a half before we actually were aiming for.

DSS Successfully scheduled for us: Ohana on Marathon night and HEA party with plaza garden view as well. So YAY!

Some people, like really. Hopefully, they were embarrassed and learned their lesson. I wouldn't have even thought of doing that.

I don't know if your on the dining plan or not. However, If you share a Pizza you might be better off paying out of pocket. They tend to take a meal credit from everyone sharing but if you pay out of pocket as many as you want can share without a problem.

THX but we never do DDP. Way too much food and not the way like to eat.

Staying at Poly LV CL, should I request 2nd floor near the lounge or opt for a 1st floor because we have kids that would enjoy hitting the beach? Is it that far from the lounge? Take elevator or steps up a floor?

Question about YC CL. Are their cartons of milk? Or if only the dispenser, how often is it out? At every service? Only breakfast?

Have any of my fellow CL people contacted DSS to have then make fast pass reservations? We will be in Scotland next month when our 60 day window opens and although DSS said they could make the fp's for us just wanted to see if anyone has had luck with DSS . Thanks !:flower1:

Wow some people have some nerve. I often shake my head at people but this one might be the Top of the I'm sorry does the world revolve around you list.

That is why I have stayed there several time, the price!

Gv cl rooms are on floors 1-3 all facing the quiet pool. However even though you can't see the lake or MK from your room the 2 story lounge makes up for it. It is the prettiest lounge imo.

1st floor has the patios. 2nd is easy with strollers or mobility issues and 3rd is fun with a balcony. There is an elevator or both an inside and outside steps to access the cl lounge .

Photobucket removed many of our older posted pix so here is the CR hospitality suite from 2014.

The bedroom is the same size as a regular room and attached to a huge living area with a kitchen and another full and half bath. There are 3 doors. The far end door has 2 more closets and half bath location. Dd took over this "dressing area".

This,is the regular bedroom, we had the 2 q version but some have a king.

Numbers wise there are far more LV rooms on the 1st floor than 2nd, so if you do request 2nd you're dealing with a much smaller supply. But for us, it'd be 1st floor all the way. Popping straight out on the beach to play with the kids, walk a bit left to watch the fireworks, etc - those are all big benefits for us and would pretty much be my sole reason for booking LV to begin with.

When I stayed in a LV room in Feb, I also realized how much I appreciated being right there on the first floor for running in/out of the room during pool time.

There are stairs and an elevator to quickly pop up to the 2nd floor lounge, it's very easy.

Being on the 2nd floor / same as lounge is convenient, but the lack of balconies on that floor is the primary drawback for us, especially with kids.

Hope that helps! :-)

Good morning. To those who've stayed in or visited a 1 bedroom suite at the BC...
1) There appear to be two couches in the room; one should be the queen sleeper, but is the other also daybed or sleeper like in regular rooms? I ask because even though we are 4 people, we are 3 generations and the 3rd bed might be nice.
2) I've stayed at BC several times before but have no idea where these rooms are located. I understand they are not on the CL floor but we are curious about where we will be.
Any request for location suggestions?
Thanks!

I can sort of help here, although I'm no BC expert so hopefully someone else can chime in if I'm off anywhere. People on the BC/YC thread are great as well.

I stayed one night in a 1BR Suite last summer. Attached are several pics below. As to your questions:

1) Yes, one couch is a pull out sleeper and the other is a fold-over type daybed. In my room, the daybed was in the bedroom but I have seen 1BR pics which have this reversed.

2) One of my photos below is a the map from the back of the door. I was in room 1647, which I've circled in yellow and has the red dot on it. My room was on the first floor, Touring Plans would seem to indicate the 1BRs are on floors 1-3 on this corner, but take Touring Plans info with a grain of salt. The other "stack" of 1BRs I believe is the other yellow circle on that map. I don't think there are other 1BRs but I'm not totally sure about that.

Personally I LOVED the location where my room was... just a few steps to the lobby and elevators to take you up to the CL lounge. The walk to the other bank of 1BRs is materially longer, although I have read that the views are better from that part of the building. But if I did a 1BR again, I would want to be on any floor in the same exact location where I was.

Does that help?

Loved the room by the way. The only minor nit was the bathroom - the vanity area is wide open to that living room with no door. The toilet/shower are behind a door in a somewhat small area. It's better for a close family than one that needs a lot of privacy! But for what the bathroom lacks in size, the overall space of the room itself makes up for it.
