Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hey @DisneyFansInNYC and other WL folks, quick question if you have a second. I know I could probably find this on on the WL thread, just looking for some direct feedback (sorry!). For the "Deluxe Room - Club Level Access" rooms, are all of these going to be on a non-CL floor? How far are we realistically talking from room to lounge? I know the lounge is moving to a new location soon (right?), not sure if that changes the answer? Does being on a different floor really change things that much?

We stayed at WL years ago (non-Cl) so have a general idea of the layout of the hotel, but I'm not familiar with the CL floor.

Any opinions or feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

The layout of the WL floors looks like this:

The deluxe rooms are those oddly shaped ones on the corners. So you'll be at the very end of the hallway, but the resort is very compact so the walk is not likely terribly long. The deluxe rooms are on most floors, so you could have both a walk and an elevator ride, depending on where you are.

Your questions mirror mine to a T! I asked about the location of these rooms in the WL thread, and it sounds like it's not overly convenient in relevance to the lounge....that's one of my concerns. I was hoping there was a staircase nearby that we could just zip up and down, but it doesn't sound promising in that regard either. My other concern is the view - it sounds like we would pretty much be looking at trees, unless some get cut down in the construction....and we do love a balcony and view. Or are we just spoiled by the views at Poly CL? In any event, that's the room I have booked (WL deluxe CL) but I'm still on the prowl for AP deal so maybe I can split with RPC. WL is a gamble for us because we did stay WL CL in the past and really didn't love it (mostly due to the regular room size and closed panel balcony), but by booking the deluxe room we will solve those dislikes but will gain a couple different dislikes. I'm intrigued, though, because the new WL lounge sounds great and we all did enjoy the food there....

So....I'm still debating myself.

I know I moved my wl cl trip to march but I am still looking forward to it. WOW what a difference in price next year!

Now that I am at akl cl I have to deal with rooms not on floor as cl. For me and dd thats fine. I need less walking so choose std cl at wl because it looks like very convenient room to lounge for mom.

I really didn't like the enclosed balcony at wl last time so I think you still better off with the deluxe. Besides those rooms will give you space you need!

Happy Planning

Poly views sure do set high standards! GF and CR views aren't too shabby either.:cloud9:

I agree about the prices - ugh. It's really quite depressing because right now and for the next several years, we don't have a lot of leeway as far as our travel dates. Perfect time to try the new WL lounge and we've never stayed CL at AKL either -- it's on my list for someday!

Thank you @AliceIn, @TJA, and @trishadono - much appreciated!

Ugh, I have never been so indecisive about a trip. For the moment I booked a WL Deluxe room for spring break (first week of April for us) although I kind of just did it to secure the Deluxe room and might change it up later if I can. Can't really decide if I want to stay there the whole week, or split with something else (like BC). Sadly I think Poly is out for the winter/spring for us, just not loving the prices with any of the discounts. Although I reserve the right to change my mind on that comment.

My history of monorail resort CL stays has totally clouded my thinking, but I know we need to branch out and try new things.

I see you got the answer - I will say that the Deluxe room was not that convenient being on the 4th floor but I have to say with that room and that view I would stay there again. We had a longer walk once at the YC that we would get lost getting to the lounge. At the WL they had trays for us to take food back to the room. It is a great room.

TY! You were on the north wing, right? How long a walk from room to lounge are we talking, in rough minutes? Do you happen to remember?

Oooooo I love the BC! Especially in the spring when the weather is warm enough to enjoy SAB! :D

From the layout posted before by @AliceIn - our room was the pink highlighted one - 4123 At the end of the first hall. It was not a long walk - a few minutes. The longest part was waiting for the elevator. I don't remember if we found stairs there. There are deluxe rooms at the end of the second hall - that is a longer walk.

This is excellent to know, thanks! I had actually just found your picture of your room view from 4123 and I thought - wow! I think the rooms at the ends of the wings are the rooms with mainly a tree view...? So from that picture you and AliceIn posted, I'm trying to understand where the old honeymoon suites are (and the new lounge is going to be) -- pretty much straight back from your room 4123, right? I know we'd need to go up and if they'd only have a convenient staircase that would be perfect. Wish they could put a wristband scanner at the top of the staircase so only CL people could get in

I'm feeling the same kind of indecisiveness. I think it would help if the deluxe rooms were convenient to the lounge.

In your shoes, I might be inclined to split with the BC! But the discount isn't as good there, is it. I think I checked for my dates and was a bit disappointed. Our family has kind of outgrown the BC rooms and it breaks my heart because we loved it there for so many years -- we now need a daybed and it's only a request at BC unfortunately.

When you got off the elevator the CMs were right there and the lounge was to the left. Steps from the elevator. Here is a picture that I found that WDWKOOK posted which shows the 7th floor. So my room 4123 would be right below the Yellowstone suite (3 floors).

I agree about the stairs - that would be great. We really love the WL. I think with all this talking about it - I am going to make that our next stay. Enjoy!

Ok so dumb question, on that room map, where is the "honeymoon suite" that is being converted to the lounge? I couldn't figure it out on the WL thread either but maybe I'm missing something?

Excellent - thanks! One more question.... So the 2 honeymoon suites where the new lounge will be are 095 and 096?

Ha! I just asked the same thing.

Ha! I just asked the same thing.

Ha! I've been searching the forums and Google and there seems to not be much discussion on the specifics, or maybe I just missed it? @WDWKOOK has a few posts where she references the "north wing honeymoon suites" as the ones being converted to the lounge - so those would be 085 and 086 on that map. It took me some other google searching to (I think) in fact confirm that 085, 086, 095, and 096 are/were in fact the honeymoon suites pre-renovation.

I thought I had read somewhere else that the new lounge would have a view facing towards the direction of MK, which it would if it's the north wing rooms, but that could have been rumor chatter.

Since I'm a google expert here, all of the above could be wrong!

Yes that is what I think. I had read that the Honeymoon suites were the rooms right next to the TV which is those few rooms to the left of the lounge (while standing in the lounge looking out) 95 and 96.

@DisneyFansInNYC thanks so much - your info along with that map you linked have helped tremendously!
@GADisneyDad14 I also read the new lounge will have a view facing MK, so that's definitely a huge plus. A lounge with a view! The way I envision the lounge is an enclosed-type of lounge, sort of like the new BC lounge, except with an added perk of a great view. If we can snag a room like DisneyFansInNYC had, then all would be golden. I think the next search is to find just how many of these preferred location rooms exist. I'm not fond of the idea of getting one the deluxe rooms at the ends.

@DisneyFansInNYC Mind if I ask, did you request the location of your room, or did you just get the luck of the Deluxe draw?

@TJA I guess it would make sense to make "close to the lounge" be our room request in our circumstances here? I agree, I like the idea of the 'inner' rooms better the ones on the end (although I bet those rooms have a great/close view of Bay Lake).
