Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

All booked! I went ahead and booked YC - it was 30% off with UOC and so I decided to save where I could. lol

Mark us down for May 19th - 24th at Poly CL and May 24th - May 29th and YC CL!!

We are super excited!!:banana::cheer2::dancer:

Congrats!!! And that UOC was a better percentage off than the current discount...so super nice!! :cool1:

Ahhh that lovely LV Room 1505!! Trishadono had the exact room I had a couple weeks prior to her stay! I agree about the ambiance while sitting on the patio, especially at night when all the pretty lights are glowing. I look forward to ending my nights on that patio -- I'd make myself a nice drink in the lounge, grab my kindle, and head right out to the patio! :cloud9:

Its was just lovely...:lovestruc..definitely worth booking that room category for....

Of course you need CL....you ALWAYS need CL! As soon as you just accept that line of thinking it makes all of this a lot easier. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think this post bears repeating! :yay::rotfl2::dance3:

Our first CL stay was also not planned! We had a regular standard room at BC booked (never even considered CL...) and we were given a room that was already occupied (we actually opened the door while the family was in there!). The CM at the desk felt worse than I did (lol) and she immediately got on the phone and came back to tell me that we were going to be escorted up to Club Level! It was a magical trip, to say the least, and we haven't looked back since then.

I'm really trying to look forward to our WL stay! Did you ever change to a deluxe room?

I think I want to stay in a regular room now. We walked past that suite/now lounge all the time so I think it will be convenient. Also view choices are glimpse of cr/mono/castle or courtyard. Both of which we would enjoy.

However if one or two of dd's friends join us I may switch for space.

Yes I don't blame you! Those are my 2 issues with a deluxe room (room view and convenience to lounge), but the regular room is kind of tight for our family of 4.... Shoot, I just wish the deluxe rooms were on the CL floor! That would solve a lot of problems...

Well, well, well... I ask what a "UOC" is and a few hours later one shows up in today's mail! Is this the same thing as when people talk about getting a PIN code? We've never recieved one before, figured I was on Disney's "he'll come anyway" list! :-)

Yes that's the PIN code! Congrats! So, I bet you haven't even checked out any rates yet...;)

Well since you mention it, I have been trying to plan out a late winter/early spring Poly CL trip and I've been having the same reaction you had to RPC prices this year. I'm not really one to complain about prices (they charge what the market will pay, just is what it is) but the rack rates this year seem sky high compared to prior years. I haven't actually researched this to see if that is true or looked into what I paid so maybe I'm just not remembering it correctly. Or maybe I was looking at some very high rate dates.

Whatever general public offer I was looking at yesterday had discounted rates still close to $1,000 a night for a TPV room - I have to tap out at that point no matter how much kool-aid I drink! Actually made me kinda sad to be honest. To this point I've always felt comfortable paying the TPV premium but I may have to give that up. May need to be either LV or GV this time, or just flat our cheaper CL options like AKL or WL.

Maybe the pin code will knock things down to a more tolerable level. Can't let it go to waste, I know that for sure. ;-)

Right there with you. A year after our first CL stay, I tried to be rationale to save money and booked CSR Business Class...thinking it was kind of the best of both worlds, right? NOT even close. CSR is a lovely resort and all, BUT even my husband said this " is not club level". Now so just start at club level and adjust price by hotel choice...standard versus club is not even an option anymore.

Yes, I know, it's disheartening about the full price costs. I'm thinking in prior years we've received a 35-42ish% discount to make the cost bearable, but now the discounts seem to be lower. Combine the lower discount with the sky high full prices, and that equals having to think twice about what we love so much. For our spring dates, Poly and CR were both 15% off and GF is 20% off. Hardly makes a dent when we're talking well over $1000 a night.

I am holding out hope for AP deals. Mainly because they just offered the new AP perks, so maybe they'll follow up with better AP resort deals. Hey, I can dream! I remember a time when it was nearly impossible to get a room during Easter week. Nowadays, there's availability in almost every resort we like right up until close to our trip.

Do the only send UOC's to people who have stayed at WDW before? We have stayed at DL, and are on the WDW mailing list, but I am wondering if that is considered. Also, do they send out codes if you already have a reservation?

And for my second pie in the sky question: Does free dining ever apply to CL rooms?

No expert here for sure but I've always read that it's pretty random and not very predictable. I've read about newbies getting one and those coming for decades getting squat, and every shade in between. I'm sure there is some algorithm somehow involved, but who knows???? I said earlier this was our first code but my wife reminded me that our first CL trip 2/14 was booked using a pin code (I took over the Disney duties after that trip). So at the time we must have recieved one after an AOA/off site/WL trip the year before (was our first Disney trip as adults). BTW, I was very close to nixing that 2/14 trip when my wife showed me the cost, I thought she was nuts at the time. My how things change. :-)

As for free dining, yes, historically you can get free dining with a CL room when it's offered / available. Many will argue the "value" of that arrangement but some do it, very much depends on your touring style (for us, that would be WAY too much food and I'd hate the constant pressure to use all the dining credits, but that's just us). I've always found the room discount to be a much bigger $ savings than free dining, but again, it comes down to how much you like to eat out at Disney. Hope that helps.

I figure if we get a choice of a room discount or free dining, we would probably go with the room discount, but if the only thing offered is free dining, we would take it, and then order how ever we wanted, because it would still be less money. But first, it has to be offered!

When our dd went to college a few years she ordered ANOTHER disney planning DVD.

We order one almost every year or two at least. I think because it was a new name/address she started getting the UOC's .

I do remember ordering a video years ago with my work address and for a while that worked too.

So people order a planning DVD!

Me too! The deluxe rooms are very appealing for space, but it would be nice if they were on the CL floor ;).

I haven't priced WL CL in awhile, but AKL CL is getting up there in cost from what it used to be and the discount is often on the lower end :(.

Combine the lower discount with the sky high full prices, and that equals having to think twice about what we love so much.

I agree. It's one thing to raise rates, but lowering discounts along with raising rates is making it hard to book some CLs :sad2:.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, has been able to figure out how they decide who gets UOCs and who doesn't. There is zero rhyme or reason to it.
