Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

They did when we were there last week. And they always had wine and beer when asked.

That is great news. I also sent a note to the Poly IPO asking them about some cutbacks that I'd heard about to verify things. I'm hoping they were just testing things at SL - and finding out that people will complain.

Anyone stayed CR CL recently? Reading about cutbacks other places and have my first CL stay in August. Will be the first trip for 2 of my 3 boys. What have breakfast and evening offerings been?

The last time we were there was August 2015 - so maybe someone else knows that was there recently but there didn't seem to be cutbacks when we went.
Breakfast was
Oatmeal, cereals, bread (butter, cream cheese, peanut butter and jelly), bagels, muffins, Danish, cut up melons, grapes, apples and bananas all day, and hard boiled eggs. I know we had cheeses but I don't remember if it was there for breakfast as well as later.

5-7pm Snacks were cheeses, crackers, veggies, dips and 3 different hot appetizers - I just don't remember what they had. We thought it was plentiful. And all I can say is that they never ran out of anything - like they did at the Poly in February.

We absolutely loved the CR CL - and so glad to be going back this August too.

I haven't noticed much of a difference from when I was here many years ago, but I can be oblivious to things, too. Now the parks? Bag check line was ridiculous today because they only had one person at each table checking bags and several tables not even manned.

Yep, we are here now, (our last night in Sugar Loaf) and no cordials. They are certainly generous with quantity but only beer and wine until 10.

Cordials at Poly are Amarula (not amaretto), Courvoisier, and kahlua.

Would be curious to know if it is the same in RPC. In Feb. when we were there with friends they were in SL and we were in RPC and there were a few small things served in RPC that were not in SL. Extra bread, a few different kinds of cheeses etc. Reminded me of when SL was totally different. Honestly, they will try to cut whatever they think they can get away with.

They completely discontinued celery, several different kinds of bread and the made at the resort flavored butters that were sort of a GF signature back in the day. Chocolate covered strawberries have been gone a long time although they made a return on our summer 2015 trip when the were "experimenting with offerings" which were much better (including a carving station) but discontinued almost immediately due to costs.

You just jiggled my memory with the chocolate covered strawberries! Long ago I remember when we used to love them at the RPC and we also had the best lamb chops there as well.

I remember those as well. I know people think I have been complaining for months but it really is frustrating when you know what it used to be.

Wrote up a trip report and left it at work!!! Grrrr. Bottom line - we are very happy we were able to do poly CL last week. It was 'worth it' for the convenience alone. We have two kids (7 and 3) and grandparents (68). We are not park commandos. Room was amazing. Service was great (although at times inconsistent). More on Monday!! I can't wait to start planning our next trip. Kicking myself for not booking a bounce back. I just didn't have my ducks in a row and too many variables at this point.

Glad you had a great time and enjoyed Poly CL! Hope you are able to get back to the Poly soon. Looking forward to your review :).

It will be interesting to see what the response is.

Thanks for the update. Hope you had a great trip :wizard:.

Poly had that 'punch' as well. It was delicious!!

I hope the punch is still there in September as I'm looking forward to trying it :goodvibes.

I read on another thread that RPC still has cordials as they were just taken away from SL (at least for now).

I remember the awesome pecan sticky buns that were at breakfast. I was very sad to see those go away a few years ago :(.

Here is what they sent me:

Aloha!

Have a magical day!

First time staying on CL as an adult, and we're here at the YC now. Can't say that I'm impressed so far, and rather disappointed really. Our first room was a total bust, so we asked if we could pay for an upgrade. CL person gave us a 4th floor room, keeping CL access, but it was even worse than the first room (musty, desperate need of an upgrade, and looked over a roof but slated as a lagoon view). Went to the front desk, and they moved us to a gorgeous room on the 3rd floor keeping CL access. I find it very strange that the front desk was more helpful than the CL people.

We haven't hit up the entire food offerings yet, but the dessert options were just okay. Standard cookies, brownie bites, and some liqueurs. Didn't see any beer or wine. I will say that the lounge area is very nice, and I do like the balcony attached to it. But the food so far does not seem worth the extra cost.

Finally, texting the CL people for fast pass help hasn't been fruitful so far. We've gotten some of our party on a fast pass for this evening (we've all burned through three already), but for two of us it's being iffy. Texted CL for help, and all they responded with was "no availability." Which is weird, because I'm seeing plenty of availability on my end, it just won't let me through. My guess is that the system doesn't think we have been through our 3 fast passes, but who knows.

I hate being negative about WDW, especially since I do have so much fun here, but I guess I expected more help from the CL people. Total bummer for our real first time on CL. Here's to hoping it turns for the better!

Just curious, what was wrong with your room on the club level? We are staying there in a few weeks and I'm wondering if there is a certain room or view we should avoid! Thanks

We had a lagoon view, but were for some reason placed looking over the entrance of the resort (mistake? overbooking? not sure -- I think the room was 5175 -- it's near the lounge). Then, when they put us in a lagoon view on another floor (4215), it was really just looking over a roof with some sliver of lagoon off in the distance :( The 3rd floor room we were placed in (finally) is honestly perfect for us! We're definitely looking over the lagoon, and we're far enough away from Stormalong Bay that we don't get the noise, but we're not the furthest away from the lobby either.

We're really hoping it's just a hiccup that sometimes happens, and we're going to be testing out the 5:00 food in just a little bit. Fingers crossed things will keep improving :)

Sorry to hear about the room runaround you got at the start of your vacation, but hopefully things only get better from here on in. I'll be interested to see any more thoughts and opinions you might have about the YC CL during your stay as we'll be there in late June. We had our first YC CL stay last August and everything was wonderful - no complaints - but that was before all the recent negativity about cutbacks, reduced perceived customer service, etc.

I'm disappointed to hear that there's no cordials at SL. Was this posted in the GF thread? We're staying here in July and had such a fabulous stay in RPC last year. We had cordials at the BWI and CR at Christmas.

We're going to YC CL towards the end of June and I've been wondering, based on all the CL complaints on the boards, whether it's worth it. We booked it at the summer savings rate (only reason we did - the CL room was cheaper than the only non-CL rooms left and we want Stormalong Bay) so I probably won't end up canceling but I think I am going to keep a closer eye on the website for vacancies at lower rates because it sounds like CL isn't worth ANY extra cost anymore.

Hello!! Just home from our first Club Level stay (and maybe the last?!?!). We were at GF Sugarloaf... Don't get me me wrong, we had a great vacation, but I think next time I would rather just order from Garden Grocer and get a larger villa room. We were a little cramped with myself, DH, DS (7), DD (5), and DD (3). The CL was friendly and often poured us wine/ champagne "doubles" in TO GO cups if we were walking down to fireworks or heading back to the room, but food wasn't really all that exciting... No cordials, as I have said on a previous post, and apps and desserts got a little monotonous after a few days. I wasn't "wowed". Also it was after 5:00 on our check in day that we finally got our room text. I had to go to the front desk and inquire, she said that that has been happening quite often lately, housekeeping hasn't been communicating when rooms are ready... Anyhoo, we had a great time, but really not any better than WL last year, (Woods View) and Garden Grocer delivery... which was considerably less expensive... and I am picky.
