Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Well, we have returned from our CL stay at the BC and sad to say I don't think we will be paying for CL for a while. Just not that special feeling at all!! The cast members were indifferent, a couple were friendly and outgoing, others were just there. We kept hearing rumblings of more cutbacks coming in the way of the offerings and wine. Just very disappointed on how checkin was handled this time around.
Sorry to hear your CL stay was less than magical but I can relate. We stayed there last June for 2 nights we were supposed stay 4 and then split stay at Poly for the other 5. We ended up leaving early because we felt the CMs were not very friendly and didn't make any attempts to make you feel at home. Also we never got a welcome packet or a welcome drink. Not to mention the room was dirty when we checked in.... dirty toilet and tub.... yuk! We have stayed at the resort before and had a great time but probably just had a bad batch of CMs those couple of days. Polynesian CL was great and friendly.

Please add me to the guest list Oct 8-12 YC CL. Celebrating my 50th birthday. Just me and DH this trip. I have decided not to stress about the upcoming renovations as no one seems to know when they will be yet . Can't wait .

Here now and have been writing a little on the GF board. We are staying at the RPC and I so agree with the above comments about the new check in. We came in behind a group of other guests and when I told a CM we were CL I was just sent to the crowded check in desk. After almost ten min we walked up to the CM and she checked my info then had to leave the desk to find someone to take me up.What really upset me was then this CM called over to another CM and asked if she could take us up.Nothing at all special about this, it took up a lot of time. Then we got upstairs we got checked in again. This CM tried telling me the beach pool was closed, when I said I thought it was the slide only she said "oh they don't tell us anything"! Seriously!!Other than this we are having a good time and I have no complaints with the food.
Anyone has any questions ask away.

This is really not right. I think it would make people at least a little happier if there was a separate line for CL that just got treated as a FP line. Then I don't necessarily need anyone to escort me--just hand me a card that will unlock the CL doors and I can hand that over once I get there. Not as great as being met at the ME bus and escorted, but far superior to what is going on now.

Very disappointing! We arrive there tomorrow and I am seriously doubting the value of paying for CL. $9000 for an eleven day stay for me and my DD in a lagoon view room with base tickets. When you add in the airfare and food and everything else, it will be well over $14,000!! We could have gone many other places for that kind of money and been treated royally-LOL.

Regarding the texting service, I'm at GF now and it is available but I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to know about it! It was never mentioned at check-in and it's not in any of the paperwork. I had to later ask a CL CM about it, but if I hadn't read about it here I wouldn't even know it existed. The CM that checked me in yesterday was not a CL CM, he was the CM the walked me up and he went ahead and did my check in since the (one) CL CM was busy. Maybe they would normally talk about it at check-in? Seems so strange. Haven't actually tried texting yet, planning to tonight.

for a newbie that has never done CL what will I be missing? honestly I think I would be more worried about the food and making sure it is plentifull just curious thanks!!

Checking into sugar loaf tomorrow. Any advice? I already did the online check in. Should I tell a valet when we arrive that we are CL as another poster mentioned? I don't want to wait in a long line with three kids;) or I would have just stayed in a regular room:)

We're staying CL at AK and RPC in May and this is making me anxious lol. It's our first CL stays and first AKL and GF stays. I know it's a total first world issue but after all the planning and saving to think that it's just not going to be as good as it was even a few months ago is just depressing.

Please report back about your stay at SL. We are staying there for the first time in a couple months. I've never even stepped inside the GF before. Super anxious to hear about the lounge and the offerings!! Thx!

It's going to be completely fabulous! You will love it I'm sure. We stayed club level at the beach club resort a few years ago. Before we left I read 1000 negative reviews about the beach club and especially their concierge level. I was so worried. But it was completely amazing. Blew us away. We loved every minute of the vacation, the lounge, the offerings, etc. You will have a great time!

I am attempting a trip report:) I will try to keep it up dated as we go!

A month I would have told you yes tell the valet and they would have summoned a CM to bring you directly upstairs and checked you in. It seems those days are gone. Now you will stand in line to check in then wait for another CM to bring you upstairs and basically check in again. Be sure to say how much this upsets you and maybe if enough guests say this is not except able they might rethink it!
Hope you have a great trip. We are in line at the MK now.

You stayed years ago and things have been changing fast and not in a good way when it comes to CL. I plan on doing a whole report when I get home but just let me say now that I love Disney. We have stayed CL at many resorts over the years and the level of service has not increased with the room prices. Not even close!

Just heard back from Disney on my email about lack of kid options at AKL. The lady was nice but said there was nothing Disney could do because the decision was solely up to the Club Level manager. She did encourage me to contact AKL as if they don't hear complaints or concerns they don't know it's an issue.

Hey Gang! Sorry I was MIA again, we had a crazy blizzard here yesterday! :cold: I think I got everyone added to the guest list who asked, but if I missed you let me know. :D

Hi Erika - is there someplace where I can see a list of your previous reports? I saw your GF SL report from December (I believe) which was great. But, I was wondering if you have additional GF SL reports from the past that I could look at. Thanks!!!

I have some on my blog then I have all my DISboard trip reports bookmarked on my blog's bio page for easy access to all of them: https://erika_murphy.silvrback.com/bio

This list goes back about 4 years and then to get to older ones you have to check the first page of those older ones to get more links. I think I started doing these in 2001! Crazy to even think of how long I've been reporting here on the DIS. :disrocks:

Hi everyone! I'm trying to plan a return trip in August can't decide between poly CL or GF CL can any share some recent food offerings in the lounges? TIA
Nicole

In August I would DEFINITELY 100% choose the Poly. It is soooooo hot and humid you'll love having the new pools and the tropical feel. Save the GF for a November/December trip. That's when it is at its best in my opinion. :thumbsup2

I married one of those guys LOL...meal time is easy for him (boring but easy) Erika, I cannot wait for your TR!! Even though I changed from AKL CL ;)

Well I think i told you the #1 reason we are at AKL this trip is because Nic's girlfriend and her family will be staying there and she LOVES animals. She's planning to major in some sort of animal sciences and so we are doing it for her. Plus I love AKL too, the only part I dread is having the rollaway bed taking up all our floor space.

So looking forward to your AKL trip report!!

I'm really excited to get there! Only 3 more weeks of waiting!

I am pretty sure my daughter could give your son a run for his money on world's pickiest eater. I always thought it was the parents fault when kids were picky eaters. Then my daughter was born. The child who would not eat any baby food except for one flavor and the child who now pretty much only eats chicken nuggets, peanut butter and jelly, pizza and fries. Its pretty bad when you think a cupcake is a good dinner option (that is what she had tonight). She is only 3 1/2 and I continue to offer her a variety of foods but I don't see this changing. My husband ranks up there in the pickiest eater ranks.

I don't know, Nic won't even eat PB&J! :rotfl: He hates peanut butter.

First time at Regatta coming up in just a couple of weeks. At OFC we like to take of those little Mickey milk cartons back to the room for my daughter. We just stick it in the fridge for first thing in the morning before the CL opens. I'm reading differing things about Regatta. Can anyone confirm if they have the little Mickey Milk Cartons in plain white milk or do they just have milk pitchers? Anyone encounter problems in taking an extra carton or two back to the room fridge?

I haven't been to the YC in a couple of years but I know when we stay CL having milk is the most important necessity on our list. My youngest drinks about a half gallon a day. When we've been at resorts who don't have the individual cartons we've used the coffee cups with lids to store it in our fridge. Some lounges don't have milk out all day, only breakfast, so you have to ask a CM to get it from the back.

Arrived at GF today. Going to sound like a snob but I'm not a fan of the new check-in deal. Had to basically beg someone to take me up to CL to check in. If I hadn't experienced the other way I really wouldn't care and it wasn't THAT big of a deal, but just a small touch that I missed this time. But alas, I'm sitting on the balcony enjoying this view, so life really is GRAND, despite the change in procedure.

Glad you're having a good time! Love the pic, thanks for sharing :).

I just got off the phone with an IPO at BC. I filled out my papers for the ADRs we want & gave her our cc #. Our trip is 9-10--9-16. I debated using them or doing it myself. But I decided to go ahead & have them make our ressies, just to have one less thing to do. I'm stressed at the moment, so less sounds good. I so wish I were there right now. :eeyore:

I've never used IPO, but from reports I've read, they do a pretty good job! I'm sure everything will turn out fine :goodvibes.

I am really regretting booking CL for our upcoming trip. :(

Try not to worry, I'm sure your stay will be wonderful! :wizard:

Sorry your BC CL stay wasn't very magical, but glad to hear Poly CL was great! I can't wait to try Poly CL from all of the positive things I read about it :).

Please add me to the guest list Oct 8-12 YC CL. Celebrating my 50th birthday. Just me and DH this trip. I have decided not to stress about the upcoming renovations as no one seems to know when they will be yet . Can't wait .

I'm sorry about your check in experience, but glad you're having a good time and enjoying RPC :goodvibes.

Checking into sugar loaf tomorrow.

Have a great time :yay:.

I know it's a total first world issue but after all the planning and saving to think that it's just not going to be as good as it was even a few months ago is just depressing.

Try not to worry too much. Everyone's opinion is different and while one person might have a less than stellar experience, another will have a great one! Like ToyStory3, I experienced the same worrisome feelings before our first Poly stay (non-CL). I read a lot of negative reviews a few months before our trip and actually considered changing resorts. I decided to stick with it and I'm so glad we did as we would have missed out on one of our best trips had I changed resorts. So, while things are changing in all resort CLs, you can still have a great time, IMO :goodvibes.

I am attempting a trip report:) I will try to keep it up dated as we go!

Good luck with your TR :D.

Good for you! I just attempted my first trip report and think I'm a better reader than writer! Lol!

I'm sure it turned out great ::yes::.

Just heard back from Disney on my email about lack of kid options at AKL. The lady was nice but said there was nothing Disney could do because the decision was solely up to the Club Level manager. She did encourage me to contact AKL as if they don't hear complaints or concerns they don't know it's an issue.

I'm sorry about the lack of kid options at AKL CL. I think it's a good idea to let the CL manager know your disappointment. If they get enough complaints, they might bring back some options as there are always kids in CL ;).
