Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I had a chat with a nice CL CM one afternoon about the architects, and he confirmed they were the same. We really wanted to try the WL since we love the other two, but I don't want to be there during all the construction. Poly CL in the summer is great! We stayed there a couple of times and really had a nice time there. I love how close the Hawaii building is to the pool and the views of the fireworks from there are the best!!! I hope you have a wonderful trip. We haven't tried the CR yet, so it will be nice to hear what you think of it.

I have to say that architect knows what he's doing and does a great job as all 3 resorts are beautiful. I don't blame you for not wanting to try the WL with all of the construction. I hope you are able to try it on a future trip as it really is a great resort. I am looking forward to trying Poly CL next summer as we just love the resort. We were in Samoa and loved how convenient it is to the pool, so it will be nice to have the lounge right there as we spend a lot of time pool side. I'm not big on the decor of the CR, but it will be nice to try. I am always reading great things about CR CL so it will be nice to compare that to the few others we've tried. I hope you have a great time at the BC & GF (that is if you don't change ;)).

I don't have a horse in this race, if I book YC CL these days I try to save my pennies and book water view. ::yes::
But, I don't want to give folks who select YC CL standard the wrong idea. I actually rarely see folks out on their balconies at WDW. I think folks who post on the DIS boards may be more likely to use them, but we are a small part of the overall population at WDW.

The patio over the portico is a very large area shared by only 3 rooms. You are not elbow to elbow like when you dine at Cali Grill. :) It is set up in a way that if you arrange your chairs closer to the patio door, you will have more privacy.

I totally disagree with the bolded, underlined statement above. We were stuck with one of these shared balcony rooms at YC CL (for 1 night, until a private balcony room became available) and there was NOT a feeling of privacy. Arranging chairs wouldn't have helped anything. The balcony is totally open. The people in the other rooms hung their wet swimsuits all over the balcony and one person conducted a loud (sounded like an argument with his girlfriend) late-night phone conversation while smoking, over on "our" end of the balcony. It was his balcony too though, wasn't it? However, I believe my husband got up and spoke to someone on staff regarding the smoking. It was not a restful experience. We don't ask for much, just don't expect to "share" like that, especially when on CL.

1 more week until my wl club stay! wasn;t sure where to ask this so I figured I'd ask here -

We were watching the youtube channel seeyareelsoon, their latest video in the mk & I noticed in 1 shot when they were leaving, at the busses as MK there is no slot for the WL anymore? Just fort wilderness? We usually take the boat to the MK, but actually enjoy the nice COLD bus back to the WL from the MK. SO, my question...Is there any bus back to the WL from the MK or is it strictly the boat now? THANKS!

Would appreciate some advice on how to word a request to possible receive a better room view next trip down to Sugar Loaf. I'd be happy with the marina or pool side. Just want to avoid a tree.
This morning I woke up thinking maybe I should have picked the atrium club. Always indecisive!!!!

Erika I am very fussy about my view..and consequently have become very familiar with what rooms have what views....On the courtyard side of SL there are two big trees...One which obscures the view from the upper floor of rooms 08 and 10....and also 24 and 26....they don't really impact the first floor at all...but upper floors would have a similar view to the one that you had for your last SL stay...and on the marina side of SL there is only one big tree and it is on the side closest to Conch...and as you know obscures the the view in the upper floors of rooms 21 23 and 25..

.My suggestion would be the rooms that are right above the portico on each side...they are bumped out a little further than the rooms that are down the corridors...but...are rooms which do have doors that open out over the atrium area....15 marina side and 16 courtyard side..I would suggest floor 3 hence 6315 or 6316 as those are the open balconies..not enclosed by the roof line.....

Right here in our new home on the Community Boards there is a Resorts Picture of the Day thread...on page 157 post #3121 Srisons posted a great pic that will give you a good idea of the room views on the marina side of SL....Trish has a very lovely marina view as Dispro mentioned ..so I am sure that when she get back she can give her insights on that.... IF...you want to have a room location inside one of the corridors that would be 01(closest to the main building) 03 or 05 marina side..be aware tho that on the upper floors some of these are dormer rooms....and on the courtyard side 02 04 and 06... Lots of info...tried to make it as clear as possible :upsidedow...HTH...:flower3:

Thank you :) Have you had success requesting certain room numbers? In my experience at other resorts that doesn't usually work out. But I'm willing to request whatever I need to request to get a decent view next time. :) What about "high floor, unobstructed view". Would that be enough?

Funny, we are not particular about view. Our balcony use is fairly limited.

I'm so tired at the end of a WDW day, I usually sleep like no place else. Nothing keeps me awake! Then again, our usual motto is we'll sleep when we get home, and only average about 6hours per night. We're often out past most folks, and up before many others.

We were happy to have the jumbo balcony at YC. I thought it was pretty neat. by contrast, I found the WL balcony to be slightly claustrophobic. Nicely private, but confining. I like that four of us could talk on the balcony. Except it was a cloudy, windy morning in winter, and too cold to stay out for long.

Also, If I'm recalling correctly, the YC shared balcony room was close to the lounge. My top priorities: close to the lounge and/or exit. At BWK, we had the very last room at the far end of the hotel. We were very close to a staircase which was close to the quiet pool, but wow! That is a BIG hotel! It was a LONG walk to the main pool!

Funny I was just saying that to someone this morning. I'm faced with the challenge of finding the PERFECT resort for my Dad's first trip to WDW. Part of me thinks the BWI would be perfect for him, but I worry it's too much walking. Thankfully I have plenty of time to decide what is going to be best. I feel like his trip has to be beyond perfection to justify all the trips I've taken over the years. If he doesn't enjoy it then I basically look like a complete fool!

I tend to request a few different rooms ..for example xx01 03 or 05...and follow with something like you suggested..high floor..unobstructed view...And yes we have almost always gotten our requests...at the GF that is... ( our recent and first stay at the Poly not one of my requests was granted. ..lol..and they were far more generic..like 3rd floor.. close to lounge).....I put the requests on my reservation that is booked thru CRO and again with IPO about a week before our trip....I think if you cover all of those bases with those general requests you will definitely be assigned a room with a view that you can enjoy!! :goodvibes

More cut-backs at the GFR's RPC: Gone since our June stay: the Thursday and Sunday "Twilight Refreshers" carving station; the large plates; pulled pork, mini crab cakes. :(

That's really the key. For a long stay I think the view just needs to be of something decent. Even though sometimes we aren't there, it's nice to have something to look at during down time. :)

That's unfortunate. I thought the RPC might be immune to cutbacks. Considering the price.

Alas, no. Early in the year, during the morning's "Grand Beginnings," the mid-grade sliced turkey was replaced by the cheap, gelatin-looking, sodium-enhanced, grey "turkey" slices. Ugh. It will be staring at us tomorrow morning for our departure meal.

In the meantime, the fifth floor in the main building continues to be upgraded and refurbished. To be sure, it is unavailable for occupancy.

All the best! :thumbsup2

That's very disappointing!

DL is my home base. I have stayed several times CL at DLHotel and the GCH. I totally love the DL Hotel as do my kids. In my opinion the GCH is not worth the extra cost. The club in the DL Hotel is much better. There is more room and it has a beautiful view of downtown Disney. You can watch the fireworks from there, which is a great experience. The CM's in the club have always been super helpful, attentive, and just great servers. The DL hotel was also recently remodeled. The rooms are spacious and the firework headboards are the best. We also love the pool area. Great monorail slides! it will be hot and crowded when you are visiting so I am sure you will use the pool! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks so much for your experience! The only downside to DLH that I read is the distance to walk to the parks. How was your experience with that? We have done the walk many times from BC/YC to DHS and never found that was bad. We will definately be using the pools! We are actually thinking of staying 10 nights at DL and doing various day trips from there. Maybe even getting the Premier Passport so that if we time it correctly we can then do WDW in 2017 before it expires.

Since people are listing their preferences for CL at DL, I'll put my 2 cents worth in and say that, money aside, we prefer CL at the GCH because of the location and the extra food they offer and the location. We like that it's all one building and the unbelievable convenience of the location. I will say that I wouldn't pay rack rate over there -- it's too high.

GCH looks gorgeous - we love its location as well - we're just not sure CL there will fit into our budget :-( I don't think that there will be any discounts offered when we go.

I've looked at pics of the 3 DL hotels and while they all look nice, I tend to lean toward the GCH. I think the GCH resembles the WL and we love the WL, so I think we'd love the GCH :goodvibes.
It does look beautiful! We may only get to visit it for dinner and to tour it but we find its appearance so appealing!

As far as I know, there is still a bus from the WL to MK. With that said, you could ask over on the WL FAQ as someone on that thread should be able to answer :).

Have a great time at WL CL :wizard:.

I agree, it is a beautiful resort! If we do plan a CA/DL trip, it will probably be 2017 rather than 2016, so I hope you will give a review after your trip next year :goodvibes.

I hear you... The CL price over there is too high. We have stayed both CL and non-CL, and we had a great time either way. You exit the hotel in the middle of DTD, so there are many places to grab food on the way to the parks (same for the other 2 Disney hotels). It's all close together, so while we love the location of the GCH, the other 2 aren't really that far away. And there are many non-Disney hotels that are walking distance as well (we prefer Disney because it's easier to feel immersed in Disneyland if we stay there, but I've also stayed off property).

It is a longer walk to the parks from DLH. However if you are used to Disney World, then I don't think it would be that big of a deal. DL and DCA are in a much more compact area than DW. There is also a monorail station close to the DLH. So you can take that into DL park, which saves you some steps. The walk to the parks is through DTD, so there is tons to see and do on the way. The walk doesn't bother our family. As an on property guest, you can also use the entrance for DCA through the GCH, which saves you some steps and puts you right into the park by the grizzly river rapids. I am also deciding about the premier pass. We currently have Premium Passes to DLR and may upgrade for our trip in the spring. I am not sure what the upgrade cost is though so need to do the math.

Hey all! Does anyone have pictures of a GF one bedroom suite in the main building? It is what I have booked for our stay in the spring. However the only pictures I can find online appear to be from before the renovations. I really want to see! Thank you so much!

Oops I meant to post in the GF thread. Will switch to that thread. Sorry!
