Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hi all. Does anyone know how to request not getting a room at the YC with the community balcony? Stayed there last month and it was awful. Guests and their kids running back and forth, etc. Thanks.

Welcome to the thread ! Hope you are doing well !!

Sorry to hear about the community balcony, maybe try and call the reservation number and ask how to have the no community balcony request added to a future reservation ( along with what room number you had last month to avoid it in the future).

Anyone have luck with AKL CL concierge booking 4th FPP? I know it seems hit or miss depending on resort

When I was there in July, I asked and was told that AKL CL does not participate in the 4th FPP yet. The CM told me it was still in testing phase and would hopefully roll out to all CL soon.

Quick question about CL- do drinks/food offerings get replenished? There seems to be a lot of posts about bad guests taking all the food. Also, are drinks (water, milk, cokes) available after hours? (Example: Park closes at 12am- you close it down). We are debating an 8 night stay with our 2 sons (6 &2) between the Poly or BC CL. Any thoughts? Apologize for the multiple questions - this will be our first extended stay and CL experience.

What is wrong with people. Why would you let your kids run back and forth across the whole thing. I have a kid and I would never allow it.
I agree with you completely, especially since it's a shared space, but what's more concerning (and this was discussed on the BC/YC thread) is that people you don't know are sharing a balcony with you that has an external entrance to your room! Chances are you'd be fine, but it's a little creepy when you're sleeping!

They do replenish food/drinks, but sometimes you have to wait a bit for them to bring more food out if they had just replenished it. BC locks up the lounge at 10pm, so you wouldn't be able to get another drink after that. Poly doesn't lock the lounge because you have to go through it to get to rooms on the second and third floors, but I can't remember if they leave drinks in the fridge or not. The best thing to do is grab a couple of extra drinks during the day and put them in your fridge. BC is awesome with kids because of the pool, but it is a bit of a pain getting to MK from there, so it depends on what's more important to you. Poly is convenient to MK, but it has construction on the GV side of the CL building now. I prefer being close to MK with young kids, but I would probably consider other options like GF since Poly is under construction.

Dispro1 is correct, you won't be able to access any drinks at the BC CL after 10:00 PM but you can take some earlier in the day and store them in your room fridge for later. The CMs encourage you to do this so it's no problem at all. Since water is only available from the large dispenser you'll need to pour it into cups or mugs to store in your fridge for later. At the Poly CL they do have sodas in the fridge after hours but they don't last long so I wouldn't count on anything being there when you come back during late hours. You'll still want to store extras beforehand.
The Poly and BC are both great resorts for kids, the Poly is awesome because it's close to MK and has larger rooms for holding all your baby gear. :)

When we were at BC in June, Neil (one of my favorite CMs there), said that if you have a water bottle (like a Dasani) to refill, they have a special device in the kitchen that they can use to refill them for you without contaminating the community water dispenser (maybe like at some airports??). We didn't do this because my girls brought their Camelbak bottles, but I thought that was a good idea. I really like the larger room size of the monorail resorts too!

Hi G-mom!! Doing well, thanks. In training for the DL half. I e-mailed the IPO and she noted my request on my ressie.

I agree. It was awkward. Couldn't even sit on the balcony.. No privacy at all.

That's a big plus for the monorail resorts. The rooms are very large and spacious ;).

Good luck with training for the DL half :).

I hope you get a great room that meets your request :wizard:.

It would be very disappointing to have a balcony and not have any privacy :(.

Indeed....the CMs add to the experience, and the GFR's RPC CMs are exceptional. A tip of the hat (with Mickey ears attached) to Abdul, Marie, Gayle, Loretta and Patty!

All the best! :thumbsup2

Couldn't agree more!!

I probably thinking of Kahlua, lol! I used to drink both until I became lactose intolerant. Now I save my tummy for cheese :)

Hmm I am going to have to experiment with the cordials some more!! Thanks for the suggestions.

I think that there will be some new mixed beverages to add along with Dispro's grand splash:drinking1

Already got an email from GF IPO for December! Now I'm starting to get excited again!! Best cure for P.D.D. :earsgirl:

:dance3: Congrats!!! GF is even lovelier than usual at holiday time!

Currently staying at the Tower Club though we have access to RPC (don't ask how). Superb desserts at the Tower Lounge (the club level's oatmeal raisin coookies are a bit better than the RPC's version; and the Tower Lounge's Snickerdoodle cookes are even better than the excellent RPC sugar cookies). However, the three wine offerings at the Tower Club are rather disappointing (and one of them is white zinfandel...Ugh!). Wonderful CMs at the Tower Club.

All the best! :thumbsup2

Hello there! !! I see you are back at the world already!! :goodvibes We have to wait all the waaaay until next month...lol..

Funny our second fave CL is at the CR too...and I agree..good food and CMs too...Glad you enjoyed your stay there..

And you did save the best for last...Enjoy!! A big hello to your DW...and to all of our fave CMs!! :thumbsup2

As for the barefoot lounge visitor. ...I call those photo ops...lol..:cool2:

I believe it's 3 rooms in total. I would think most would lock their patio doors.

I don't have a horse in this race, if I book YC CL these days I try to save my pennies and book water view. ::yes::
But, I don't want to give folks who select YC CL standard the wrong idea. I actually rarely see folks out on their balconies at WDW. I think folks who post on the DIS boards may be more likely to use them, but we are a small part of the overall population at WDW.

The patio over the portico is a very large area shared by only 3 rooms. You are not elbow to elbow like when you dine at Cali Grill. :) It is set up in a way that if you arrange your chairs closer to the patio door, you will have more privacy.

I love sitting on balconies, I use them just about every morning. I quietly enjoy the view. Most of the time it's nice and quiet (various resorts) but a couple of times I had to go inside (once at AKL and once at Contemporary) where very loud talkers were having quite personal conversations that might have been best behind closed doors.

I think it just depends on the day and the guests, no guarantee anywhere.

Would appreciate some advice on how to word a request to possible receive a better room view next trip down to Sugar Loaf. I'd be happy with the marina or pool side. Just want to avoid a tree.
This morning I woke up thinking maybe I should have picked the atrium club. Always indecisive!!!!

Me too! I love going out on the balcony early in the morning as well as at night, I find both times very peaceful :cloud9:.

Good question. I'd like to know also.

You're there in December, right? GF is so pretty then! I wouldn't second guess it... But I'm partial to GF;) I absolutely LOVE the marina view from SL. We stayed quite a few times in SL marina side before discovering RPC, and I only remember one tree that obstructed any view at all, and it really didn't block much. I always requested high floor, marina side, away from atrium... Because noise travels up from the lounge. With your fans, noise may not be an issue for you, so you may want to be closer to the elevators (which are by the atrium). Didn't you just stay at SL at the end of your BC trip? Did your view get blocked by a tree??!! Trishadono just checked in to SL today, and she got a gorgeous marina view. I think she used to prefer the courtyard pool side, but I wonder what she thinks now?? I'll bet she'll post her pics when she gets back because she loves pictures too:) She would be a good person to ask about a SL room...she knows it like the back of her hand...she knows the location/configuration of every room, I think (by room number)!

Someone asked about club level at Disneyland hotels. We have done them all, this will be our first time at WDW doing club level, August. 29 to sept 8 this year.

Anyway our favorite at Disneyland is PPH. There is no such thing as theme park view in WDW, but look at this one from paradise pier. Awesome. From what I read here, club level is different at DL, they encourage you to use it as a meal, we kept getting asked if we want more. And they don't care at all how much water, soda or juice you take each day. There was three of us and when we asked for a water she would return with 12 bottles. The kids would take 2 sodas and 2 juices on top of that, and every day since it was hot we drank it. When they say snacks, they mean a little more also than at WDW, they put out crus tables for the kids everyday at snack time.

Disneyland club level is great also, but not as great a view. But you can see fireworks from club level at both GC and DLH. We did GCH about 9 years ago, we do not like the hotel, and was not anymore impressed by it at club level, but that is us, I just am not going to pay 7 and 8 hundred dollars to be handed a sleeping bag to sleep on the floor. The rooms are so small at GCH compared to DLH and PPH, it would be like having the GF furniture stuffed into POR, honest to god, that is the comparison. Where as both DLH and PPH standard rooms at like 480 sq ft, the grand is like 310 sq ft.

If you pick PPH you get to choose if in a standard room to be on the top floor or to be on the third floor. The top floor gives you parking lot view, the third floor gives you a private patio next to the pool. The lounge is not on the same floor it is on the second floor.

If you want to pinch penny's PPH also is the way to go, our last three trips we went club level there because it was only $12 more a night than regular room. And we definately got our money's worth.

December, yes! :) We were in room 6323 and couldn't see the marina at all because of a very large tree. We could see the monorail a bit to the right and the sidewalk below us, but I was bummed we couldn't see the water. Not a big deal for 2 nights but this next trip is 8 nights and over Christmas so I want a good view for sure!
