I am actually now debating whether this room is worth all the extra money. If popping into the Old Faithful Club isn't convenient, we may be better off just keeping the one bedroom at Copper Creek.

Hi All. Just booked my first Club Level stay at Wilderness Lodge. Deluxe Room Dec. 1-4. Fortunately, got an AP discount, but it's still so much more than I would usually spend, but I'm taking my 91 year old mom, and this will make it really special for her.

Sounds like a special trip you have planned. Hope you and your mom have a great time .

I can't think of a better time to stay at WL - the Christmas decorations are great.

I agree! WL is beautiful anytime of year, but especially during Christmas .

She will turn 92 on January 6th. If that isn't worth a splurge...nothing is.

I think it's definitely worth a splurge .

Definitely keep checking. All of December has become a busy time and seems to get busier every year, but you never know if something might become available .

Well, I canned the Deluxe Room, because it doesn't seem at all convenient for the lounge. I kept the one bedroom at Copper Creek, and will keep checking for a standard club level room. Thank you to everyone here for the advice and opinions. Maybe I will get lucky and find a standard club level and return to this thread!

Just back from Beach Club CL and now counting down, 58 days, to my BWI CL stay! I am really looking forward to my return to my favorite resort. We had just some issues at the BC, and the cast just weren’t that helpful. We traveled with my son and his family and my son was very disappointed in the way things were handled. He is a Senior VP of a well known company and said they really need to get it together! Things finally got fixed by our 5th day, but some of the cast members were not very helpful at all!

I have a request for the YC CL pros out there.

We've done YC CL twice now, one night over the summer and just had a three night stay this past weekend. Had a great time by the way - expand the lounge seating area and it would be #1 CL for us.

But anyway... we've had two Water View rooms. This last room was below, the room over the summer was similar:

With more nights under our belt at YC CL now, we found ourselves questioning whether we may prefer a Standard View or Garden View over a Water View room. Our observations about our two rooms are that while it's nice to look out over the lake / towards SAB, the balcony itself is a touch noisy and doesn't quite fit the calm/relaxing vibe we get from the rest of the resort. You hear general roof exhaust noise from below, pool commotion, excess light from SAB, etc. None of those are show-stoppers, just observations... but it's what had us questioning what other options are like.

We also had the oddest experience with this last room. While we were not close to an elevator, we could consistently hear off/on mechanical whirling noise from what had to be an elevator room somewhere. It was almost non-stop during the day and would trail off late at night. For the life of me I could not figure out where/how we were hearing this noise. It's not our nature to complain/ask to move in those types of situation - and I didn't - but I was close.

Anyway - would appreciate any thoughts on YC CL room views from those with experience. Thank you!

We have stayed CL at the YC twice - the first time in a GV room and the second time in a SV room. I loved the GV room - it was very convenient to the lounge, concierge CMs, and elevators without being right on top of them or hearing constant noise from them. The view was great - looking at the wedding gazebo and an easy turn to the left to see the BW and lake. I think there are only 4 or so of these rooms? I'm pretty sure they all have full balconies. Our SV room was just ok. It was what we expected - a view of the front entrance. We barely used the balcony except to put on sunscreen or for a short change of pace from the room while we were hanging out - but no definite desire to just hang out there and relax with a drink or snack like I get at many other resorts (Poly any view, WL most views, GF any view, CR any view, AKL all but the front views - really anywhere except the SV rooms at the YC and BC!). I would definitely choose a water view over standard, and possibly over garden but our GV room was pretty darn nice, so maybe that would be your sweet spot. Good location, good view, not looking at a rooftop or the lights from the pool, no excess noise from outside. However, there is also price to take into account - if the price were that different I would say GV is a definite way to go, if the prices were not that different then I can see either way having benefits. From what you wrote above it wounds like GV might be right up your alley .

The 1 bedrooms at Copper Creek are beautiful!!!! You can check out the Copper Creek thread - right on Page 1 there are 3D panoramic views of the rooms. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Yes, you are correct, you don't need the resort reservation to keep the booked FP+. Thank you for clearing that up. I should have said that she needs tickets and that I believe that it is wise to maintain a resort booking at least until 30 days before arrival.

Just to explain my reasoning:
I said that both are needed because it is what I would keep based on the fact that her dates more than 30 days away. I have read many reports lately of wonky things happening on DME to FP+'s and even other reservations. (Plus, I have experienced a few 'technical difficulties' myself.) Technically >30 FP+ are available as a result of a qualifying resort booking, so I would be very nervous of having them without one. The notice makes me even more worried as I can imagine a day when the early FP+ just might disappear with the qualifying resort being cancelled, especially more 30 days prior to arrival. I still vividly remember when Disney changed the rules for cancelling a portion of your resort reservation. I called to reduce my length of stay based on flights not working out as well as I had hoped, only to be told that I couldn't keep the remainder of my booking. I had nonrefundable flights and nowhere to stay.

But, I do agree with you, the FP+ are not currently linked to the resort reservation after the booking window has been opened and the FP+ created. So, under current rules, anyone can cancel a room only resort booking and keep the 60 day FP+ intact.

We are going to be participating in the room block at the Contemporary this January when my daughter and her dance company perform at WDW. As you know I am a huge fan of CL but she wants to be with her friends. The sacrifices we make....

Ok, my question is what is your room preference in the Garden Wing? I am assuming that the room block is there vs the tower.

Just wanted to say that I experienced the same elevator type noise at BC years ago and never figured out what was causing the noise either??!! Glad to hear you think highly of YC CL...I’ve been hearing a lot of good things lately! Maybe I’ll consider a split stay sometime (for the right price), but I do tend to only rotate among my top 3 these days...so we’ll see!

Well you could super splurge and book one of the hospitality or garden suites lol. She would be with friends and you could sneak up to the lounge

I think I would want 1st or 3rd floor.

1st for balcony, 3rd quieter due to no foot traffic above.

Some of the better views would require more steps. So do you want to be near to doors to lobby or better view. Take a look at the maps on CR thread.

However if booked as a group you may not have many options.

Have to say you are lucky they at CR, NICE!

I was going to recommend that.

Recently I had a split stay. A 2 bedroom at BWV then moved to GF RPC.

If all 4 of us go I def prefer the villas. Having that space is awesome! Also they have a normal coffee pot so I can have my coffee in PJ's vs getting dressed for the lounge. Also toasting a bagel etc is easy enough to do when its not YOUR KITCHEN. Its oddly more fun at a villa.

You also have a nice balcony and living area so you can sit at night with a glass of wine and relax as a family. They sell some really nice wines etc right in the gift shops. The "Once Upon a Vine" wines are nice and not too expensive.
Don't do adult beverages? How about hot chocolate or tea ? A full size kitchen is nice. Also there area real glasses and stemware. I often drink my OJ in a wine glass.

Im not going to say I didn't love RPC, but it was for just me and dd. It was easy for us to take turns grabbing stuff or sitting in the lounge on the way out. We were not waiting for a group for example.

SO bottom line: A 1 /2 bedroom villa or CL to me is about the same level of splurging. For convenience both are a great option.

I’m exposed to elevator control rooms in my real life and this was almost certainly the noise you hear in those rooms as the machinery moves/clicks into gear responding to calls. But the only thing remotely close to our room was a service elevator and that was many rooms away. Either that or we’re losing it!

As to YC... you know my true love is Poly... but YC sure is nice!

I know, I am so glad we have the Contemporary option. (They also have a value and moderate choice as well.)
This will be my first time staying there so I so excited. I actually already looked into the hospitality suite and it is booked for our dates. Great minds!
I think we would like a better view and not of parking lots. I will take a look at the CR maps. Thanks! Any first hand experiences in the Garden view wing would be greatly appreciated.

I’m exposed to elevator control rooms in my real life and this was almost certainly the noise you hear in those rooms as the machinery moves/clicks into gear responding to calls. But the only thing remotely close to our room was a service elevator and that was many rooms away. Either that or we’re losing it!

As to YC... you know my true love is Poly... but YC sure is nice!

I haven’t even paid attention to the convention center construction was that all done? Do they still have any construction equipment around it could have been possibly?

Not a Scrooge at all! For what we’re paying per night, one should expect the room to be a quiet escape from the busy parks! The elevator noise only happened to us in one out of three rooms we’ve had at BC, but I now often add “away from elevators” to my room request in hotels like Poly where you could be really close on the GV side! I actually really prefer the opposite end of the hallway there (Poly) even though it’s a longer walk because it’s so nice and quiet! When we used to stay in SL a lot when my kids were young, we always requested upper floor, away from Atrium, and we always got a quiet location...although you can get a dormer room with that request, as you know! You know RPC is my favorite, but the deluxe room we have always preferred for its larger size, garden tub, fireworks view, and people watching can sometimes be noisy too...especially if it’s 4420, so I may have to give the other room layout a try because that side of GF is so quiet! We couldn’t get the deluxe room for our January trip (RPC), so I’ll definitely be requesting the Atrium side! BTW, we could only get LV CL at Poly for New Years weekend so I’m a bit nervous about noise above us if we’re on the first floor! Anyone have any tips?? And evidently 3 months out is way too last minute for a NYE trip because I could only get BWI CL for NYE so I guess we’re doing another split...unless something at Poly opens up because I couldn’t even get BWI initially!

@trishadono...thank you for your post. The more I think about it, the happier I am that I didn't keep the deluxe room. I would love the club lounge, because I know she would get a huge kick out of getting drinks and snacks, but the location of those deluxe rooms really wouldn't work for us.

Continuing taking full advantage of my kid's different school system / different fall break schedules, spent the long Columbus Day weekend down at Disney with a split AKL CL / YC CL stay. The trip was short and I didn't take many pics, but here's a brief report.

The first two nights were at AKL, which I have to say we have a growing fondness for. This was trip #2 here for us, after a Spring Break stay earlier this year. While no resort/CL is perfect, we really like AKL and AKL CL. The resort is so unique, peaceful, and relaxing. The kids activities are great. The lounge is large and offerings are abundant. Personally I rank it #1 for food variety/quality of the places we've stayed recently.

Unfortunately I had prior commitments so DW and kids went down first and I joined them later, so I was only on property for a few precious hours. :-(

But the family had a blast. I always kind of worry about a repeat resort trip - maybe what we liked about it before fades with repetition - but my kids were all over AKL.

DW texted me one night and said something along the lines of "why can't Poly's lounge be so peaceful during evening apps." I know when DW actually voices her opinion about a Disney resort, I better pay attention.

We prefer the Kidani pool over the one at Jambo anyway, so the pool being closed wasn't a concern for them at all.

Anyway...checking in at 1am for me. Totally deserted. Just me and one CM at the check-in desk. The lounge is the top floor of what you're looking at in this pic, although hard to see from this angle.


Given my short time on the ground, I only experienced breakfast service one morning. Obviously subjective, but I think AKL CL has the best breakfast spread of any CL going right now.

Cereal includes Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, and either Special K or Frosted Flakes, I can't remember.




I love the cut grape fruit out every AM, in addition to mixed berries and the more typical Disney melons.





Biscuits and sausage gravy were out this AM. That part of the service rotates/changes each morning.
DW and I both enjoy the "Toasted Quinoa with Brown Sugar" and feel it is quite possibly the best oatmeal topping ever. Please forgive the hyperbole.


The new / bigger Nespresso machine has been well documented, but this was installed sometime after our April visit. This is the same machine at the Poly CL.


Not every CL has individual yogurts or individual chocolate milk options. Nice touch.
