Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hi all, can anyone let me know which club lounges have seats specifically for small children? we've only stayed at Beach Club, Poly and AKL CL and they all have the special little seating areas with kids TV but wondering if Yacht Club and BWI also have it as well? Also, is BWI maybe not as kid friendly as the rest? any info would be appreciated. thank you!
BWI does not have a kid seating area. They do not put out any kid specific food.
However, the chefs will attempt to put together kid friendly fare from what is offered that evening, if needed. One evening they had mussels and the chef kept telling DGD she's make her pasta and red sauce but DGD wanted to try the mussels (she'd never had them) and turned out she LOVED them. DGD loved most all the chef's items so we never needed any special foods. And DGD can be a picky eater.
I don't know that I would say it's not kid friendly though, there were a lot of kids around and the kids all had a great experience. They have the usual TV with a couch and chairs, with Disney shows on. It's just not kids sized chairs, which is nice in that anyone can sit in them.

Once the lounge stocked beer in the fridge we were able to fill our insulated tumblers with beer from the lounge and enjoyed those at the pool. Afternoon snacks were tasty and we loved the smoked almonds and macadamia nuts. We brought Captain Cook's back to the patio for lunch and enjoyed it there.
Curious, you mention "once stocked"
Does that mean they won't get it for you unless it's stocked?
Is Poly's CL one of those that serves you the adult beverages? Opens the beers? Pours the wine for you?
I know AKL only gave us open beers, for instance and over at BC and GF they served our wines, it wasn't self service.
One thing I like about BWI is it's self service. We can get beers and take them to the room for later at night, for instance. Don't have to open them first.
And we can pour our own glasses of wine

We left BWI and went to Hard Rock CL and I really disliked the way they did theirs. Not only did they serve you, they only give 1 drink to 1 person (no getting a drink for your spouse) and you can't even get a drink outside of the beverage hours. I was too spoiled by BWI and Disney. Any of the lounges would get us beers anytime we wanted it, didn't have to wait till it was in the fridge.

@pepperandchips - Thanks for checking in! :wave2:

I-4 IPA? What, did they run out and borrow from CR CL? I’ve tried to like the I-4 IPA, but I just can’t for some reason. :-)

Obviously unsophisticated beer drinkers were guests during your visit. They left all the good stuff. 8-)

Ahh, the room all the way at the end. Did that room have 2 Queens or a King?

Great pics - I could look at the lounge view pic all day. Thanks again!

ETA: Did that little yogurt cup come prepared like that, or did you make it yourself?

Hahaha! To tell the truth I did not much care for the I-4 IPA either. I don't know what it was about it that I didn't like, as I usually do like IPAs. I had my share of the Kona Longboards... better pool drinking in my opinion :cool2:

Our room had two queens. I don't know if it's true or not but I read on Tikiman's website that Hawaii doesn't have any king rooms. We are both little shorties so a queen is always fine for us - I didn't make any room requests except for having a patio/balcony and explained that we like to spend time outdoors relaxing. It was a great patio for us but understand not everyone would like all that landscaping in front. The location was perfect as we enjoyed making use of the side door right next to our room (quick entry during those Florida rain showers!)

The lounge view really can't be beat! We spent so much time in there, I love just watching the water launches cross the lagoon. Heaven!

The yogurt cup was premade - they had premade parfaits of both strawberry and plain yogurt as well as just cups of "naked" yogurt with toppings you can add on yourself. Thanks so much again for all your great posts and photos, it definitely helped me plan and get me excited for our stay!

Poly CL "stocks" their beer fridge around 11AMish every day and it's self-serve all day/evening afterwards. It's the best setup of all the CLs!

One can ask a CM for a beer before 11am, if so inclined. Not that I would know anything about that.

Well I am sure they would have gotten me one prior to 12:00 but I felt like a lush asking... haha. Actually we went in the lounge between 12 and 12:30 and there was no beer in the fridge yet, so I kindly asked the CM if she would grab us a couple when she had a moment and she brought out the whole cart to stock the fridge and apologized that they weren't there yet. She brought us two each after asking which ones we wanted. I think they were just short staffed that morning. I saw folks asking for wine on Sunday afternoon (they stock beer all afternoon/evening but wine isn't out to serve yourself until 5:00) - in that case they did pour the wine in the back and just bring it to the guest who requested it.

Nope, you may open the beer yourself (or take a closed one back to your room, for later, as the case may be :rolleyes1) and the wine is serve yourself as well.

That is weird, I wonder if they have changed the policy? It has been a while since I was at HRH club (December 2016) but they definitely let my then-boyfriend get a drink for himself and a drink for me. Otherwise the club did not impress me much at all... actually I thought it was kind of a disaster and they ended up refunding me the price difference between standard and club, but that's another story all together. Let's just say I don't think that the club clientele was on their best behavior and it was super busy as we were there at the holidays.

Yes, they specifically told the gentleman in line in front of me that it was a change (I do not know when). He asked for 2, one for him, one for his wife. She poured 2 but would not give him the glass for his wife. She said she would sit it to the side but his wife had to come to her and show her the room card to get it. She said they'd had too many take drinks for guests who were not HRH level guests so they will only give 1 drink per guest at a time now.

Getting drinks for guest who are not staying CL? Makes me wonder if a lot of this such thing goes on at the Disney resorts? My husband ask me just how they keep resort guest that are not staying CL out of the lounges and I told him that I don't really know, but I am sure we will learn in a couple of weeks I guess. But does Disney or has Disney ever really had the problem of CL being crashed by other hotel guest? Any good stories or info on this topic?

I really don’t know and to some extent have wondered this myself. But I kind of assume that even though some of the CLs have quite a few rooms the CMs actually get pretty good at recognizing the same guests over and over and have a good eye for who looks to have just followed someone in the door at the building or floor and they don’t recognize them, etc. I’m sure some people do get away with sneaking in, but I suspect the CMs get pretty good at picking them out based on recognition and behavior. Maybe there’s more too it, I’m curious of other answers. I know we see the same CMs over and over, and to be good at that type of job you need to be good at remembering people and their likes, dislikes, and such.

Most all the CL we've used are closed access. You can't get in without your MB opening the door to get in to the area in one way out another. Sometimes it is via the elevator. In the case of BWI, you have to use you band to enter the door, since the floor is mixed. It would be hard to get in to the lounge at Disney. Others shouldn't let one follow them. I know we never have. Folks used their bands behind us

Someone could bring it to you though, if they were inclined to. I suspect the staff is trained to watch for abuses

That's awful :sad2:. It seems like there would be a different mechanism HRH could employ to prevent this other than requiring each guest to present a room key for every single drink but I can't say it's inconsistent with the mess we experienced there. There were a LOT of people in the lounge when we were there so maybe it was an issue with guests bringing lots of other guests in with them. Certainly dampens the luxurious feel though!

I'm doing my first CL stay in August and have a real newbie question to ask, tried to see if its already been covered but there are just too many pages so I apologize if it's a repeat. I am going solo and don't have any other requests to be helped with aside from a room request, is that something I can contact the concierge services (forgot what it's called lol) for? I don't want to bug them with things they can't help with, but it seems a shame not to ask them to do something :P. I am booked in at GF RPC in a king deluxe room and REALLY want a room on the 4th or 5th floor.

They are all only accessed only by MB, either the building, floor, or section. But IME a lot of people follow other people in, particularly at the Poly. I think as often as not someone was coming out when we were going in so we didn’t need to tap, or someone right in front of us was going in. It’s an automatic door after the band triggers it, no one is going to let it shut just so they can then open it themselves - (except my sons who like to do things like hit elevator buttons and door buttons :sad2:). Also at RPC, YC and CR there would be times I would get Into the elevator and someone had already used their band and hit the floor. However, I agree with you, I think the staff are probably trained to watch and usually know or suspect and check with other staff or just keep a close eye until they are sure.

Last year at the YC, we ran in to the elevator as the door was closing and only 4 people were in there. We are a family of 5 and when the door re-opened to let us in and we got situated someone asked what floor we were on, we told them we had to do it ourselves and my youngest reached over to tap the MB...lo and behold we did it and 1 couple got off on another floor and the person that asked us our floor waited to get off with us AND they both got off on our floor AND followed us in to the lounge! I didn't know what to say or do, but they loaded plates (2 each) and left back towards the elevators!

The YC has the best one, my kids loved the private room BUT keep in mind that your kids would need to be older since there are no tables just chairs and you balance plates on your laps. There are side tables but not too big on space and they are next to the couch. Now, adults could sit in here if they wanted since the furniture is all full size, but the room is smaller and the TV is on Disney Channel.

The Atrium Club at the Contemporary has a small table and chairs in front of a televsion in the corner of the room that plays Disney Channel all day. There were coloring pages during the 'snack' time.

Does anyone know what days in the week there is a chef at the royal palm club at the grand? I heard there is a chef sometimes so I want to make sure my one night reservation falls on that day.

I believe it's quite random and there is no set day.

I can not speak for YC but only for BWI. We have 2 DS under 8 and have done BWI CL for the past 2 years in the Fall. While they do not have specific kids seats or their dedicated TV in the lounge, they do have a tv which mostly plays disney jr unless a major sporting event was on. The CMs are wonderful with our boys and are always gifting them with treats, stickers, jokes, etc. Our kids love it- and maybe yours will too.

Here are a couple of ways to reach the consolidated Concierge service, Disney Signature Services team. They can address your room request(s) and assist with other issues that you might think of before your trip in August.

They are available seven days a week from 9 to 5 Eastern Time. Please include your reservation number in any email exchange.

Question about split stay: I will be staying at Pop before checking in at Poly CL. On the check-in day at Poly, do I NEED to stop by the front desk at Pop to "check out" so I can get a room at Poly?? Or is that something the CL concierge can help me with so I can save some time in the morning??
