OMG! Those AKL CL photos are making me hungry!

I am an AKV owner and I never thought I would ever be able to land (afford) a CL room since we only own 100 points and they are so hard to book. I banked 50 points from this year which gave us 150 for next year. I was able to get THREE nights in a CL studio for the start of our trip. We are transferring in points from a friend and the last 4 nights will be spent in a 1BR at BLT. I can hardly wait until October....but fortunately, we are leaving in 10 days for our BWV/BRV split-stay.

It’s funny, when we saw him after we got back from DS, he came up to me and asked what I’d like to drink. I actually said “I don’t know, not sure what I’m in the mood for” and he said he’ll surprise me. When he came back he said “these are called I don’t know!” -and I just laughed, remembering what you told me! The one on the left was orange juice, jungle juice and sparkling wine and the right one was sparkling white wine, a bit of red, and I think oj. He’s too funny. He told me it’s like Costco - they’re both samples, and whichever one I like, he’ll make me a full size one… which he did, in a wine glass He’s great!

Just reporting in - we had a very quick two-day/one-night stay at Coronado club level the Wednesday/Thursday of Thanksgiving week. We added it on to the front of our trip as a surprise for the kiddos who can't stop raving about our CSR CL stay last summer.

Not a lot of changes since Aug 2023 -- mostly notably management has changed, Aaron and the female manager whose name I'm blanking on have both moved to other properties, and there is a new manager Maddie, who was a dream. Very sweet, very present - when she heard that CL introduced my 8yo to her love of "fizzy drinks", she made her a preview of the Christmas mocktail to get her opinion on it, and another time added edible glitter to her drink which she was absolutely WOW'ed by.

Breakfast and snacks seemed largely nonchanged, with a new-to-us offering of french toast sticks one morning, evening apps seemed like there was a little more variety in the hot items, and the offerings themselves were a little different - including a delicious rioja braised chicken one night (and since the other night was Thanksgiving they offered turkey and some traditional sides) and an amazing mixed green/berry/goat cheese salad. No hard alcohol available (there was vodka offered last summer and they said sometime in the last year or so they did away with it), but a new thing is they were offering seasonal drinks (caramel apple mimosa or spritzer).

As before the staff were all exceptional and took wonderful care of us. We checked in at 8am and they had a room ready for us by 10:30! It was definitely busy, being a holiday, but no real issues with crowds in the lounge, only one time did we have to wait shortly for a table to free up.

Wanted to note: I asked the concierge CM at AKL CL if they still call guests prior to their stay, and she enthusiastically said “Yes!” I told her we haven’t received a call the last few stays. She confirmed my phone number and said she was surprised we haven’t heard from them. Curious to see if we’ll receive calls for our upcoming CL stays.

Also, they changed the welcome chocolates since our last stay in March.

Lounge does smell different that the main lobby and guests rooms. I remember chatting with you 2 years ago with my SIL about it NYE.

I don’t mind it myself but it’s the small things sometimes that can make or break a trip. It’s here!

I’ve had zero desire to make a Disney trip since our last one in July, but I’ll admit this particular set of pics is giving me FOMO! Sigh, I guess my wallet had a happy five-month run.
