Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

It’s a shame about the YC CL. The new rooms are SO great but even they can’t make up for the cluster of the CL services. We’re going back to BWI in April.
I agree. YC is typically one of the cheaper CL choices and this is probably why.

We went for the first time last January and had a really nice time (aside from a couple glitches). After this visit, my family told me they wouldn't choose YC again. Nice, but they prefer other resorts.
 
Question about the new speakers on the beach...so, if you have a theme park view, the music can be heard all day (8 am to 11 pm, a previous poster said). I'd like to know from someone there now, or who has recently stayed, if other buildings experience this (music heard all day even with the door closed).

I really love the music, but I am thinking that I may need to bring ear plugs in case I need a midday nap or we go to bed before 11:00 since we are staying in the Hawaii building.

If it's that loud I would ask them to lower the volume.

There is ‘usually’ background music that plays all around the resort - speakers are located in lots of bushes, along pathways, etc, pretty much all over the grounds. Exact conditions near any room or longhouse are going to be pretty variable, IMO.

I put ‘usually’ in quotes above as sometimes it seems that some sections of the resort have audio issues. This past week, there was almost no audio at all on the DVC side of the resort, for example.

At the moment, I would peg background music the ‘loudest’ on the LV/TPV side of Hawaii and the Lava Pool side of Samoa and Niue (you also get pool music/noise from those rooms too).

While I joked I could hear the music well from inside our Hawaii TPV room, I was more kidding than serious. If you listen closely with no other noise in the room, yes, you can hear it. If the A/C is on high or the TV on, you wouldn’t hear it in a noticeable/material way. It’s sort of like the boat and ferry horns. You can hear it, yes, but it’s not all consuming, if that makes sense.

Having been at Poly with no audio at all (background music or fireworks), I like the current setup so I’m not complaining. But I can see how some might be taken aback in certain areas at the volume as it is arguably a notch too high. But mileage will definitely vary depending on room location.

I think I was reacting to your comments about the loudness as being something new and possibly an issue to be concerned about should one not want to hear music at 10 pm, for example. I can see where theme park or lagoon view in Hawaii might be the location most affected.

While I wasn't on that side, my overall observation would be it's 'status quo' on the Oasis Pool side just from walking around the resort.
 
What days have the nuggets?
The menu said they would have them on Thursday but instead they served cod nuggets. I heard they were rubbery. They also had them on the menu for tonight (Saturday). Not sure about other nights. ymmv

Besides the food and alcohol issues our magic bands kept not working intermittently and no one ever greeted us ever even though we came and went frequently. Plus we had the most problematic check in ever and had to go to the main check in desk a couple times to even get access to the 5th floor which wasn’t fun hauling all our bags.

I haven't had a chance yet to post any comments, but we had these same issues on our split stay trip 12/20-12/27 at both GF RPC and BC CL. It was almost unbelievable when it happened again at BC...as annoying as it was at GF we brushed it off as bad luck, but now I'm wondering if their systems were just having issues??? Hopefully will get a chance to post more details soon!
 
A bit OT, but since there was recent talk of small pours.... check out the incredibly lame/cheap pours for the beer flight at Via Napoli this past week. We enjoy Via Napoli and I've had the beer flight before, but this was a new low. lol!

I could understand if that was bourbon, but not beer :sad2: I would have said something but I'm old and cantankerous.

The magic band problem happens to me every trip without fail. I thought it was just me as the CMs always seem clueless about why it’s happening (I’m frequently told I have too many active magic bands and need to deactivate some). I actually don’t have all that many active magic bands (no more than 10 right now as I attempted to deactivate some to remedy the flashing green problem). My DD has more active magic bands than I do (probably 20) and never has a problem. I now wear one of her magic bands in addition to my own so that I can get into our room/access the CL. I had a very bad experience a few years ago where my magic band malfunctioned trying to enter the Hawaii building. :sad2: In any case, I always end up at the desk where they try to manually reset my magic bands to make them work...which would be great if it actually worked! It’s only the room/CL access where it’s a problem for me. My magic bands work at the parks and for charging to the room.

I usually have to go to the main desk to check in. I haven‘t gotten the texts/emails when our room has been ready the past few trips despite doing online check-in. At Thanksgiving, DD and I were staying at the WL. They had emailed me a few days before our stay and included a phone number. We stood outside the door to the Old Faithful Club and called them when we arrived, lol. It worked well! The main check-in desk in the lobby had a very long line. We were able to get checked in quickly and grab some food for lunch.

I’m sorry to hear this happens to you every trip. It was pretty bad and happened to us at both YC and Poly, but has never happened before. As you indicated, extensive time at the desk fixing it did not seem to remedy
 
I had an odd MB experience in Hawaii this past visit. It would work to open the sliding glass doors, but not the room.

CM did his re-programming or whatever they do two different times... along with the obligatory “you have a lot of MBs” comment... but it would never work on the room door.

An older band I brought as a backup worked without any CM involvement.

I know room access is on different systems and such, but it seems like we are having more room door access issues with each new trip, regardless of the resort.
