Does anyone have pics of views from their balcony's of GF RPC Standard View Rooms? We want to put in a request and can't decide which we will like better with the kids. We usually do Castle view but it wasn't available this trip. Any pics will be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I see you joined awhile ago but only have a few posts, so :welcome: to the DIS!

Big caveat in that I don’t have a ton of experience at RPC, but we did stay in a Standard Room room there a few years ago (so that makes me a DIS expert, not a real expert). :-)

You probably know this already, but standard rooms are mostly on the third and fourth floor, with a precious one or two on the fifth floor if I’m not mistaken. Standard rooms face either the Courtyard Pool or towards the main pool/DVC building/Poly.

This is a crude map of the fourth floor, which is the same floor as the RPC lounge. My room was the one with the red dot - 4418. The bank of rooms to the left are also standard view. The bank of rooms on the other side of the Main Lobby/Atrium are also standard view rooms (with a few other room types there too).

Sunrise one morning. This photo is around three years old and it still gives me the feels every-single-time. I can remember that morning/trip so vividly.

This was Wishes, but you get the point. Pretty decent fireworks view from here. A standard room a few rooms over or on the other side of the building wouldn’t have this same view, so not all standard room views are created equal.

Anyways, hope that helps. I think my only request on this trip was “fourth floor, close to the lounge.” GF isn’t necessarily my favorite resort or CL, but this remains one of my favorite overall rooms/room locations in any of of our WDW travels.

Happy to answer any questions.

I can’t recall how long you were staying at YC but the Mac and Cheese is usually out a few nights per week so you should see it soon!!!

It looks runny but it’s just extremely cheesy

Practically Perfect :thumbsup2

So if you don’t mind the carbs better load up on it ::yes::
Had the Mac and cheese and short ribs tonight. Both were delicious!!!! We cancelled our dinner adr at espn and just ate in the lounge instead

Hi we are tossing around Wilderness and Contemporary CLs for September. I have heard that WLCL has moved, and/or the rooms are not centrally located near the lounge any more. Can anyone confirm that? Not being on 7th with the lounge would be a bummer. TIA!

I need to update this into something better looking/more accurate, but this is a floor plan of the 7th floor that I marked up around the time the lounge moved. The lounge is approximately the blue rectangle. CL rooms are those to the top of the image. Rooms to the bottom/south of the yellow line are now DVC (note, those are not drawn to scale). Actually none of the lounge space itself is drawn accurately, but the general location is accurate.

There are Deluxe Rooms that are located on different floors and are rather far from the lounge. Regular CL rooms are pretty darn close to the lounge. As the PP mentioned, if you buy a CL upgrade at check-in (if you’ve booked a non-CL room), you keep that room but get access to the lounge, so would be on a different floor.

Again, sorry for the crude map, but hope that helps!

Actually, in the case of WL, not being on the CL floor is a bonus. They have solid rail balcony's and you have to stand to see out of them. It's a huge negative. Going with the CL add on at check-in is not only cheaper it gives you a much better balcony or even a patio. We never book CL rooms at WL any more.

I know you pay more for CL but we really have saved money on food this trip. We’ve been using the lounge A LOT.
I was comparing a CL stay to a non CL stay at a Mod.
Once I broke down the difference and then broke it down by day, the CL room would cost me $182 more a day, for 3 people. I'm certain that we'd easily save $182 by not paying to eat breakfast or most dinners. In the end, I don't think CL rooms cost more, and you get a nicer resort

It’s very easy to get our moneys worth!!!

Especially when I get mimosa fever!!!

The difference per night for yc compared to pofq was about $300. So we probably aren’t saving money but we are having one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. It’s been amazingly relaxing. Our first and only relaxing Disney trip we’ve ever had

This wet bar is only in the std rpc rooms on the atrium side 4x23-28.

I had the same room as @GADisneyDad14 so I didn't post that room. This one is 4327.

I prefer the rooms on the side because I love Poly and can see it . Also the rooms are slightly different.

We were given late check out tomorrow at 12:30! I’m super happy because we are doing the regatta run in the morning and wanted time to relax before switching to cbr. I would stay in CL again just for the staff up here

Enjoy your late check out! :cloud9:

Me too....I love being on the balcony looking out over the lagoon at the Poly :cloud9:.

Hi - we are staying at BC CL from 5/25-6/1. We've stayed there before but it's been a few years so we are very excited to go back! But....we just decided to add on one night at WL CL!!! We've never stayed at the WL at all but it's one of my dream resorts that I've always wanted to try. Really looking forward to it!

Have you checked the hotel room views on Touring Plans? That will show you the view from many of the rooms.
Yes I have. I use them all of the time when requesting rooms but they only have 1 room uploaded that they are using for every room on each side so it's not much help. :( I even spent the day googling and youtube searching.

Thank you soooo much!!! This is a HUGE help!!!! We always stay TPV RPC here so this is the first time staying standard so I was torn on which to request. This side you just showed me or the other side which might show a view of Epcot for fireworks. This helps a LOT. In the pic I was seeing I thought I was seeing space mountain but I wasn't sure and I couldn't remember if I saw it from the view of the lounge or not and of course I never took pics of the view of the lounge in that direction (only towards the castle). :( Thank you again!

Have you seen these? Someone posted a few years ago and very helpful .

I can't find my 5th floor but most of those are suites .

Rpc std 4x13-18 and 4x23-28. FYI 4x29 is a std king. It's upon request only. It's slightly smaller but set up differently. It also has a double balcony because it's on a corner. ( I had it once and loved it).

4201-09 are deluxe kings, 43 and 4401-09 are rpc TPV. 4x21 and 4x30 are the other deluxe kings. 4x19, 20 and 22 are deluxe queens bookble by calling only.

The rest are suites.

I might have a passion for room/buildings maps and numbers :)

Hello all! We have just booked to stay 2 nights at the Poly ( garden room- club) and then 2 nights at YC ( standard room- club) after having a week with ddp in a OKW studio.

We are super excited as we have never stayed at any if the resorts and i have always wanted to stay at the Poly. The Kids chose YC for Storm-away but also excited after reading views on here.

Any suggestions for room preference s or must do at either resort?

Roll on Aug

Not a whole lot of options with those categories but maybe you could request to be closer to the lounges possibly. Honestly if it’s your first stay at both I would just roll with it, see what you get, because they are both beautiful resorts! :thumbsup2

Almost forgot, a stop by Beaches and Cream at YC and Pineapple Lanai at Poly is always nice!!!
