Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Is the BWI CL more expensive than just say a Poly or CR CL? When I told DH that I was considering booking a bounceback in 2018 @ BWI CL he seemed all for it. I quietly think its because its saving $$ LOL but I now wonder about price.

Depends on the time of year (Season, to use Disney's term) and especially the view category. For example, these are the rack rates for a random week in September of this year. The rates on the lower end view categories are actually pretty close (eg, comparing Poly CL GV to BWI CL SV). It's the TPV and LV categories at Poly and CR that start to get on a whole other level.

Big caveat, obviously these are non discounted rack rates. You'd have to compare discounted rates to get a true picture of the difference, but this is at least helpful to see where you're starting from.

A lot of info became lost in the shuffle, so JMHO I think Erika's CL thread should remain where all the info stays. We as DISers just need to stay in all the CLs and report back

That's fine, but I would argue that a lot more info is getting lost in the shuffle this way. I disliked the resorts threads being hidden in the Resorts Community section too — it definitely kept folks from finding stuff easily. That's kinda how this thread could be for someone wanting info about a certain CL that isn't discussed as much. I was searching it for AKL CL info recently, for example, and other than trishadono's lovely photos from a few weeks ago I was really having to dig back waaaaaay far. But again, it's just a suggestion.

I realize this might create more work overall for moderators, but has anyone considered creating individual threads for each resort CL instead of having them all in one thread? It's always nice to see the discussions about all the different CLs here, but I wonder if it'd be easier to find specific resort info by separating them up? It's very easy to find up-to-date info about Poly or BC in this thread, for example, but very difficult to see anything about YC or WL. I'd be willing to moderate a few! Just a thought! :flower:

I think the problem with YC is that not a lot of people f on the Dis stay there. So a thread that was just YC CL would be buried several pages back. Not a knock on YC either. That is our favorite resort. In the last 15 years, we have stayed there at least once a year, several years we have gone 2 or 3 times. All but 2 of those trips have been club level. Dee dos a great job keeping the Y&B Club theas updated with current info on page 1. But there just aren't frequent reports from YC CL. Makes it good for me, I can always get a room, lol! :rotfl2:

It's definitely a shame we don't see more about YC, SL, WL, AKL CLs on here. I've seen very little CR Tower Club, too, but I'm content with that being more under-the-radar.. :upsidedow

We have a split stay at YC CL and WL CL coming up, May 29-June 6. If no one reports on YC before then, (I am really hoping someone does!) I am happy to report back. GADisneyDad14's awesome report on WL back in December was so helpful for me when we were booking. Happy to help out in the same way.

Haha that's true! I've never tried YC myself but the new redesign of the rooms looks really beautiful. Are the CLs at YC and BC very similar to each other?

I have only stayed at BC CL once & that was before the lounge was expanded so I can't say for certain. I know that the food offerings are supposed to be the same or very close. I don't know how often the CMs switch hotels, but I believe they can work in either hotel. I know for sure we saw a few at both places.

I will be at YC again in May & can't wait to see more pictures of the new rooms. I think they look great! And I'd love a room with just a shower!

Some moderators have more time. Dee does such a great job for example as well as others. However the AKL ones dont appear to have anyone execpt the nice lady that keeps the log. It would be nice if a moderator updated the first few pages of the thread. Poly and akl come to mind as needing current info.

But alas since I am not volunteering I am not going to get mad about it. Maybe someone with time can take over some of the less watched over threads.

I am glad so many liked my pix . I spent a lot of my vacation time looking for things because I myself couldn't find those pix.

Speaking of your photos: my husband and I were looking at them the day before yesterday and liked them so much we decided to book a last-minute visit next week to AKL. There's not any CL availability right now but that's ok — maybe they'll have something available when we get there! And if not, we're just excited to be there since it'll be our first AKL (and Flower & Garden) trip! :dogdance:

That is awesome:flower1: just don't send me the bill:rolleyes1

I was there in December. I remember the grapefruit beer from Germany YUM. Other than that the CL offerings were pretty much identical to those at BC CL (if that helps) the lounge is much bigger now. There are some on the BC/YC thread...I miss my peeps there, I've been MIA and busy with school.

Sorry to hear that, we have had so-so experiences at Poly as well...but that was years ago :(

AGREED!!!

Warning, I am attempting a multi-quote after working all night and not done with my coffee! Miss my CL friends!! So an update on me :) After a switch from Tonga to BWI cottage we are now at WL CL next month. I had to save some $$$ as I just booked my first DCL trip! Ok....

I don't think it is about more work for the moderators as it would make the info harder to find for DISers. Here's my rationale, I didn't even know what CL was until after we were upgraded at AKL in 2010. Now I am hooked. Hence, one dedicated "CL" thread and a FAQ thread for each resort. Since you've been on the boards a bit (sorry your avatar says 2015 I assumed you were newer to the boards..just read your reply to BlueSkies after the fact), the moderators put the resort boards on the community board briefly. A lot of info became lost in the shuffle, so JMHO I think Erika's CL thread should remain where all the info stays. We as DISers just need to stay in all the CLs and report back :)

This was my thought, but you said it better...I need coffee

Thank you for continuing to remember Sarah (JungleCruiser).

All the best! :thumbsup2

That's what I though too - DH will be happy although I'm still not 100% sold on the really long hallways. :)

Like pas posted, BWI CL is usually better discounted than the Poly and CR. Hope you get a great rate if/when you decide to stay there ;).

All is great, just super busy  Happy to have a chance to pop in! And announce changes...as always :)

Glad things are great and that you had a chance to pop in. I totally get the busy......it's been hectic around here too! Enjoy all the planning for your upcoming trips :goodvibes.

@Nikki0401 You probably know this, but just in case... you have access to the CL lounge for the entire day you check out. This can be very helpful if you're at a resort where they don't physically close the lounge between services. It's a nice place to hang out if needed if you have a lag between checkout and when you have to leave.

If I booked one night CL followed by a few more non-CL nights at the same resort, would lounge access end at the time of the second check-in, or would it continue into the evening? I don't think this will impact our decision on what we've booked but am just curious.

Edit: Nevermind! I should have kept reading. I see that @NicoleLarson answered a similar question in post #7242.

Hi there! Just joining in here as I snagged our reservation for Marathon Weekend 2018 at BC. We're thrilled to be staying in a Deluxe room! DH is running the marathon and DD3 and I are doing the 10K while DDs 1&2 are sloths LOL. DH and I are also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We arrive in Orlando the day our honeymoon ended 20 years ago (we honeymooned at WL) but since we arrive late that night because of school we're going to get a room at the Hyatt in the airport and head over to the BC the morning of the 4th.

Feel free to add us to the SHC for 1/4-1/10/18! Thanks!

We had a wonderful time! Check in was easy. I found the desk outside and we were escorted up to the lounge check in desk. We were offered Mimosas and I also asked for milk for my son who promptly ate 4 choc chip cookies!

Breakfast was the similar each day. The meat and cheeses rotated as well as the pastries.

They had plenty of staff and you could request beverages all day long. They confirmed Angry Orchard hard cider, several beers, 2 red wines and a chardonnay. The sangria and mimosas listed above as well. I was told you couldn't get straight up champagne but one day I did see someone with one so it depends on who you ask.

At 2:30 the chips n stuff left and cookies and scones came out. Usually there were brownies too.

Evening at 5pm like usual. The 2 hot appetizers were served warm by the chef. Some were friendlier that others. 8/10 we loved and 2 were meh. Overall tho, YUMMMMMMY!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your photos! I'm a little behind but am considering changing my reservation to CL so I just started searching for AKL CL photos/experiences (and I'm definitely leaning heavily toward it after seeing your posts!). When you say you could request beverages all day - do you happen to know if that means I could ask for a glass of wine instead when they're serving cordials?

I think for gf sl i will probably just get food pix. The rooms and lounge have been well covered. I may d

We requested wine and champagne from noon to 10pm. I saw lots of people also asking for beer. The cordials were out from 8-10pm but they may be available if you ask.

Also if milk or nesquick not in the cooler just ask. Something about its a cooler and not a frig so some cls don't leave them out too long. Ds needs milk with his cookies all day.

Short answer: yes you can have wine with your dessert:)

Woot! Good to know about the milk, too - thanks!
