Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We just did AKL CL and had a 2 bedroom non DVC suite on the 2nd floor. It was no where near the club lounge. I had made requests during online check in but found that they asked the same questions when we were escorted up to the lounge desks. I wanted to make sure there were 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom and other than that I did not care what we got. I did not want bunk beds. We discovered that all 2 bdrms are on the end of the buildings, like the very end of the hallways. It was a long, long walk to the club lounge.

You will enjoy the foods and drinks at the lounge. Make sure you are there when the service begins for the hot appetizers and the evening desserts as they did run out of these later in the
service.

The 2-bedroom suites are a hike but worth it. The savannah views from there are fantastic and it's so quiet.

I've got some BC CL q's!
-Does the lounge close between offerings?
-The view appears to be of some trees? Trees aren't thrilling but as long as there is some sort of outside view I'm good. (I know we'd spend a good amount of time in the lounge each day and am trying to figure out if the lounge feels oppressive, if there's very little outside light?)
-Does BC CL serve champagne/sparkling wine in the evening?

I have no experience with WDW CL but we're vets of Disneyland's Grand Californian CL so I'm trying to wrap my head around what the differences will be. Anyone here have GCH CL experiences to compare to WDW CLs (sans RPC, I know that's far above the rest)? So far I'm at: no afternoon tea (love afternoon tea & I know GF offers that, but I don't love it as much as I love the idea of Epcot proximity during F&W!), no fireworks/park view from lounge, but the food offerings appear to be more extensive and desserts look far superior.

We have done both GCH CL and various WDW CL's-mostly BC and AKL and also YC, and WL. The GCH CL is inferior to them all. As much as we love the resort (walking right into DCA and that AMAZING lobby!) and have stayed in the beautiful two bedroom suites with the theme park and Downtown Disney views, the CL is just not up to the level of WDW. We found that the CM's are much warmer, friendlier and helpful in WDW. The food is better all around. The renovated Stone Harbor Club is spacious and welcoming and nowhere near as far from the CL rooms that the Crafstman Club is. We had harder times getting tables there than any of the WDW CL's. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the BC CL. It is our favorite along with AKL.

@HBGdancermom Random question. The chef that was there most of my nights was a woman with a somewhat heavy accent. Maybe German or something similar? Any chance you happened to catch her name? She was super-nice to me and DS and really made our time there enjoyable. I want to mention her in my comments to Disney but I never did catch her name? :confused3

As our signature suggests, we have been at the GFR's Cl many times (primarily the Main bldg.), and we have had a few regular Poly stays. However, in August we are doing a split CL stay: first at the Poly for a few nights, and then at the GFR for the rest of the week. We had a Poly CM provide us with a tour of the Poly CL last week; however, there were no rooms available to examine. We were asking those who have experienced both the GFR (Main bldg.) and the Poly CL to compare and contrast their experiences regarding concierge services, food and beverages, rooms, etc.

Enjoy your end-of-April stay. Perhaps, you can inform us in person: we'll be back again during the last week of April.

All the best! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the info... I can't see signatures on the mobile version of the message board

We did a split stay between CR CL and Poly CL last week. Let's just say, we were SO underwhelmed by the Poly, we literally sobbed every time the monorail passed CR, wishing we could go back. No more Poly for me. It just doesn't measure up.

Yikes! Can you elaborate on what was so disappointing? It's comments like this that make me question having reserved Poly CL for 2018 and I forget all about the positive comments that have been posted lol!

I realize this might create more work overall for moderators, but has anyone considered creating individual threads for each resort CL instead of having them all in one thread? It's always nice to see the discussions about all the different CLs here, but I wonder if it'd be easier to find specific resort info by separating them up? It's very easy to find up-to-date info about Poly or BC in this thread, for example, but very difficult to see anything about YC or WL. I'd be willing to moderate a few! Just a thought! :flower:

I like seeing the discussion as well but this same thought has crossed my mind before. I would vote in favor! :wave2:

Hey! The Chef that was there most of the time was a gentlemen and he was fantastic. Of course, I can't remember his name either. Sorry. :crazy2:

GADisneydad Many thanks for all of the wonderful Poly pics...and another comprehensive review of your Poly stay...:goodvibes It had inspired me to change out summer split from BWI/GF to BWI/Poly....:goodvibes...Although I was never a really big Poly fan...my DDs desire to stay there during one of our mother daughter trips..has opened a whole new MK resort world so to speak...lol..and I truly enjoyed the resort last summer...sounds like it might be even better this coming summer...since it is after all...always about the food! ::yes::

Anyone have any info on this? The menus & pics I've seen have been from 2012/2014. I'd love to get more recent experiences. Thanks!

Maybe you can reach out to Maxie86..or she will be along here...she's had YC a stay there in the past year...

Each individual resort thread has a lot of good info not only about that resorts CL (lots of detailed info BTW on the first page of each of those threads)..but also about the resort itself...so if you are looking for specific resort CL reviews...try the individual thread :thumbsup2...I personally enjoy catching up right here about all of the different CLs....:goodvibes

Not really CL related but this gets asked about a lot so thought I'd share. There was a nice "Private Dining" menu in the room on this trip. I don't remember seeing this in the past, although might just have never noticed.

Here's the page with the Ohana "Polynesian Twilight Feast." I was close to ordering one night, wish I had. Served 5-10pm.

Also the wine list if you forget your bottle...

Happy to send pics of other parts of the menu if needed!

Yes, I know each resort has their own thread. I've been on Disboards a long while. I just thought it'd be nice to get more detailed CL info for each resort without having to dig and dig if you're looking for somewhere other than Poly or BC, or if you aren't someone like you or I who checks this thread on a regular basis. The CL info on the individual resort thread main pages is almost always out of date, too, which makes it harder.

So want to try this - but its not all you can eat, and my first time I'll probably need that option. ::yes::

Thank you so much for this post. I don't know why I wasn't as smart as gottalovepluto to ask for the comparison, but it all worked out! We did the CL at DLR and I loved the convenience of checking in on our floor, but I saw that service was inconsistent from CM to CM. I have been wondering what I should tell my husband if he says really don't need it on our trip to WDW, and you gave me the info I need. Of course, I could just say "Because I want it!", but that doesn't always work.

Thank you for posting this - it definitely wasn't there when we booked the feast last summer. :thumbsup2

By the way, for anyone wondering, we were able to tweak what we wanted. Example, we asked for no wings and no shrimp and replaced with extra steak.

I was there in December. I remember the grapefruit beer from Germany YUM. Other than that the CL offerings were pretty much identical to those at BC CL (if that helps) the lounge is much bigger now. There are some on the BC/YC thread...I miss my peeps there, I've been MIA and busy with school.

We did a split stay between CR CL and Poly CL last week. Let's just say, we were SO underwhelmed by the Poly, we literally sobbed every time the monorail passed CR, wishing we could go back. No more Poly for me. It just doesn't measure up.
Sorry to hear that, we have had so-so experiences at Poly as well...but that was years ago :(

AGREED!!!

Warning, I am attempting a multi-quote after working all night and not done with my coffee! Miss my CL friends!! So an update on me :) After a switch from Tonga to BWI cottage we are now at WL CL next month. I had to save some $$$ as I just booked my first DCL trip! Ok....

I don't think it is about more work for the moderators as it would make the info harder to find for DISers. Here's my rationale, I didn't even know what CL was until after we were upgraded at AKL in 2010. Now I am hooked. Hence, one dedicated "CL" thread and a FAQ thread for each resort. Since you've been on the boards a bit (sorry your avatar says 2015 I assumed you were newer to the boards..just read your reply to BlueSkies after the fact), the moderators put the resort boards on the community board briefly. A lot of info became lost in the shuffle, so JMHO I think Erika's CL thread should remain where all the info stays. We as DISers just need to stay in all the CLs and report back :)

This was my thought, but you said it better...I need coffee
