Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

18 days till we check in for our first AKL CL stay.. DD Has no idea. We usually stay CL but I told her we were on a budget...lol

Is the jungle juice at AKL the same as POG juice at Poly??? I love having it every morning!

We returned yesterday from our 6/18-6/26 stay at Poly CL. In one word I would describe it as....perfect. When we arrived on the Magical Express bus it was raining. A CM greeted us at the door and I told her we were checking into Hawaii. Because it was raining, she escorted us to Hawaii using some of the other longhouses as our path. We arrived and check in was short and efficient. I had received a text upon landing at the airport that we were in 1519. I realized this would mean we would not be close to the lounge, but it worked out great. We loved the location. It was extremely quiet. We never heard any noise in the hall the entire stay. The only noise was from the guests directly above us. I don't think the ceiling/floors must be very thick because we heard every step they took. One afternoon we were trying to take a short nap and they were either jumping off the beds or falling off, but it literally shook our room. Luckily the noise was not frequent and did not last long. We love being on the ground floor, love having the patio when staying at a Disney property. The only reason I mention the noise from upstairs is, I would probably request a 3rd floor room next time. Just wanted others to be aware. Every CM we encountered was wonderful. Always greeted with an "Aloha" by everyone. The CMs in the lounge were so sweet and did a fabulous job! I took a 40oz hydro flask to the parks everyday and when I entered the lounge with it, one would immediately ask if they could put ice and water in it for me. There was always food available and replenished as needed. We used the lounge mostly for breakfast and were so happy to see hard boiled eggs. We did have the evening appetizers many nights and were happy with the selection and quality. The beer and wine were self serve. We were there for desserts one night and noticed they put the wine out with the cordials. There were almost always seats available in the lounge. The only time it was crowded, we went up to the third level seating area and were the only ones up there. All the other guests were kind and the children were delightful. Mousekeeping was great!! We had turn down service every night. It was a wonderful week and our family of 5 loved everything about the Polynesian!!

Thank you for the review. We will be there this summer and hoping it would be good. We stayed there during the construction and it wasn't a great trip. So excited you had a great time. We can't wait. Thanks again.

Yes! The jungle juice is the same POG juice. Enjoy your stay! We love AKL CL.

Other than the usual pastries, cereal, milk, and coffee does each resort has its own special treat at breakfast that might not be found at another resort? Also, what kind of yummies might be found during the evening snacks at AKL and BWI?

Thanks!!
Jody
I'm sure is not too unique, but I love the quinoa that AKL offers each morning. It always tastes better on vacation. The fresh fruit (raspberries or blueberries) and croissants are my favorite too! Enjoy!!

Hi,

A quick summary of our trip. We stayed at the Yacht Club - Club Level 6/17-6/26 in room 5224. Overall, we had a great stay and wonderful interactions with the CL staff. The kids were joking I'd miss my friend "Chuck" (one of the concierges) after we left.

After checking in, we asked Chuck if we could get an alarm clock. He checked and heard there were no more in stock at YC and asked for one to be brought from BC. It was in the room before we returned. Over the course of the week, he was a great resource whenever we had a question or an odd request like an eyeglass screwdriver.

The food provided at the different times was plentiful and tasty. They ran out of Kona Longboard beer on Saturday night, but it was back the following day. Food was replenished often, and it seemed like the staff kept the tables clear. We noticed one of the CL desk concierges would also circle the lounge occasionally and help where needed. Beer/wine/cider was available by request, with a supply kept in the lounge at appetizer time.

Our room was in pretty good condition. Housekeeping was great, and we had turndown service daily (we asked on check-in to make sure it was available). Trivally, we noticed when we were packing to leave that the night stand finish was a little "rough" and dresser had a drawer which was a different color. No real noise issues, even with a connecting door.

There were a few things which we expected and didn't recieve:
- A greeting with "Welcome Home" at arrival on the ME. Instead, we went in the lobby and to the desk to inquire where to check in for CL.
- The "welcome drink" we had heard so much about. We found out it had been discontinued a few months ago at Yacht Club.

We had a chat with one of the managers late in the week, who told us there should have been a greeter in the lobby who "must have been on break" when we arrived. (We occasionally noticed a CM with a iPad in the lobby during our stay, but not consistently. The older gentleman who is always there was still present during the days.) We also discussed the welcome drink and the removal of the ice water decanter from the lobby. The manager claimed these were "tests" and not budget cuts which we had heard from a CM. The lobby water did return Sunday during the day.

As we were there the week after the gator incident, we observed the beach roped off with a fence being installed during the week at the water line. The new fence comprises of ropes with netting which would prevent any touching of the water. There are also new signs warning of gators and snakes in the area.

The magical express pickup was at 6PM. It was wonderful to go to the lounge to charge phones and have a beverage/snack prior to our trip home.

Can't wait to return!

Thanks for the great review! We check in in less than a week- so excited! Quick question- are the beer/wine/cider available any time of day by request or only during appetizer hours? Also, do you remember if chocolate milk was available?

They were available any time of day. If the lounge is closed, ask one of the concierges at the desk.

There was chocolate milk in the mornings (the only time I remember).

Have a great trip!

The evening appetizers are similar to what is on Tikiman's website. I know Saturday we had potato samosas and the orange ginger meatballs. Monday night was sushi. One night there were spring rolls and dumplings. The cheeses and crackers, fruit with caramel dipping sauce, red pepper hummus, vegetables, uncrustables and mini corn dogs were there every night. Breakfast was similar every morning. They always had the oatmeal with dried fruits and brown sugar, bagels, croissants, cereal, hard boiled eggs and fruit. It seemed to alternate between a selection of mini muffins (chocolate chip, blueberry and bran) and cinnamon rolls. There was cranberry juice, orange juice and milk. For coffee fans, they have a nescafe coffee machine that makes a variety of coffees plus a large dispenser of brewed coffee. They keep half and half in a pourable container and also have the individual creamers as well. Just regular flavored, not hazelnut, etc. We were in the lounge relaxing one afternoon from 4-5 and there was a steady stream of people who came in, knocked on the door where the staff is and asked for beer. The CMs were happy to serve them. I also saw people ask for chocolate milk in the morning for their children. Again, happy to get it for them. We only had desserts in the evening a couple of nights. There was a vanilla pudding one night and chocolate on another. There were some apple tarts that were really good. Both nights there were chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin.

Thanks for this detail about the offerings :flower3:.

Now I have another question...
Dh and I are taking DGS to WDW for a 4th birthday present. I have looked at all the choices and it looks like AKL CL through David's DVC would be a great match.
If we book via David's do we still get the same service? IPO and ADRs, etc? Or is the actual owner the only person able to access this?
TIA!

You will still get the CL services and while I'm not 100% sure as we've never rented points, you should be able to contact IPO yourself. I know when you stay CL and use a TA you are able to call/email IPO and make your own ADRs, so I would imagine it's the same even when renting points. With that said, hopefully someone else who has rented points for AKL CL will be able to verify that or correct me if I'm wrong :).

First off, not to burst your bubble but AKL CL DVC rooms are by far the hardest reservation to get. There's only 5 studios and 5, 1 bedrooms. If someone books a 2 bedroom then there goes one studio and one, 1 bedroom. I own there and I have a VERY difficult time getting rooms. So if you are inside of 11 months, forget about renting points. If you would happen to be extremely lucky and get to rent points there, you will own the reservation. The owner will put in all of your info; so IPO "should" contact you.

That is a great surprise - I hope it works. We love surprising our kids. I call all of my requests. Come back and give a review when you are back.

For my transfers I have done both of these.

1. I pack up and take a cab 1st thing in the morning with luggage with us. Check in and use the lounge for breakfast then go to park from there.

2. I pack up and drop luggage with bell services then take transportation to my morning park. Then we take transportation from there (usually 11-12 for our break) to the 2nd resort. Then we check in. I put swim suit in a purse or small bag if it is warm out just in case room isn't ready and luggage not there yet. I usually get bags around 1pm,.

A lot depends on that morning. Do you have special park plans that you don't want to be late for? Or do you want breakfast at the Cl lounge???

I stayed at bc cl in November. I rolled my bags from BWI to BC just to have breakfast. Wasn't too hard to do! We only had one day at BC CL so I didn't want to miss a minute, lol. I posted pix on the BC thread back in November if you want to scroll back a few dozen pages to see.

What a great surprise...only a few more weeks to go, you can do it :goodvibes.

As far as requests, I usually call. You can call the regular reservation number or IPO (or both). Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Come back and give a review when you are back.

I second this ::yes::.

We planned our Poly to BC split with ease in mind. After Poly check out, we'll give our bags to be transferred. We have late morning/midday FP+ for some Epcot attractions, will get a drink and some AC in the DVC Epcot lounge and then we'll just walk over through international gateway to BC.

TigrLvsPooh, I have done something I said I would never do for fear of messing up our reservation. I added a day and changed our flight because a room became available and our flight dropped in price. The concierge must think we are crazy because we did this four times! My family thinks I am anyway. So as of today we are BWI Innkeepers Club from 8/4-8/17 arriving at 9:25am. This will be the last change we make so if you could please change our visit to add the additional days, I would love to see who else will be there when we are. Never stayed at BWI and can't wait the 36 days!!!

Personally, I prefer to call the IPO office and give them our room request directly. What a fun surprise! We were just there a couple of months ago and I really, really like the new, larger BC lounge. The food options were also really good. Have a great trip!

I called the other day and the CM at Innkeepers Club at BWI told me that she could see my requests that I did on the online check in and that those were the best ones but that she would notate them. Fingers crossed, we arrive in three days!

Do the clubs do anything special menu items for the 4th or is it basically the same? (EG For New Years Eve they just have champagne flowing more than usual! :) )
