Hi

When do Disney turn on the lights in the parks. We plan to go in November now after much persuation my dh has agreed to go again, but wants to go in November time. We want to try to miss the thanks giving week and also see the lights.

The only problem we have to be back to the uk by the 1st December due to close.

We are planning on leaving on the 9th so would the decorations be up for Thanksgiving week?

What is the weather can we wear shorts? Swim?

Thanks

I got there on the 14th this year and the lights were already on so they go on quite early. The weeks before Thanksgiving are fantastic, it was sooooo quiet in the parks this year that most rides were a walk on. The weather is still hot but its not uncomfortable, its still def shorts weather. Its a great time of year to go!

we were there this year from 7th Nov it's still shorts and t-shirt weather there was only a couple of evenings where we needed a light jumper, as jen uk posted the rides were walk on, apart from soarin and the christmas lights were already on.

arrived on the 12th this year, lights were up and looking fabulous!
definately need a jumper for evenings though

Most parks decorations were up first week in November this year - Animal Kingdom's were already up on the 3rd when we arrived, while Epcot's were going up on the 6th.

Can't speak for the lights in all the parks, but the Osbourne lights at MGM got their big switch on on the 14th. This was earlier than in previous years though - usually it's about the 22nd, but they started putting them up earlier just in case of hurricanes this year.

If you want to see what they looked like, try the photo gallery from my recent trip (which is ALMOST finished!) and choose Day 16. Find it at http://www.ducksontheweb.com/gallery.

Yes, the lights were up earlier this year. We went on 14th November, and they were all switched on by then. In previous years we have missed them, even though we go the same time, but I am almost certain that they are on by Thanksgiving week every year.

The weather this year was indeed still really warm, and the queues virtually non-existent. It's a fantastic time to go!

Hi

Thanks for the advice. We will be travelling around the 13th for two weeks I am so pleased we will be there to see the lights just a pity its thanksgiving, but it cant be helped.

We were going to leave later so we could see the Mickeys Christmas party they had two late November, but I think the parks will be too busy to leave later. We may miss that, but the lights will make up for it unless the party is that good we should go.

Thank again
