Disney's Christmas Carol Warning

My six year old loved it. He jumped a few times and got a little anxious a few times...but nothing major. And, as he says, "It's fun to be a little bit scared." He likes dark and creepy, though....Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and Harry Potter are all huge hits with him. He has a six year old cousin, on the other hand, who would have been terrified. It all depends on the personality of the kids.

If it's a question, one of us always goes to the see the movie first before bringing the kids.

WOW that can be time consuming and expensive. If I questioned a movie we would just skip it. Working full time + 3 children leaves not time for "preview" sessions.

I'm a little worried about my dd seeing it.
She just turned 12 last week, so you'd think she'd be OK. But she's very sensitive. Because she's so sensitive, we just don't watch stuff like that. She's fine with scary books- in fact she's pretty into them. She just gets overwhelmed to see and hear it.

The problem is that her 6th grade is going to see it together (In Imax) on a field trip, then have pizza afterward. I told her it was up to her if she wanted to go, and she does. She doesn't want to miss out on this trip, and doesn't want to have to stay behind at school. Another child (she doesn't really know her) is staying at school because she can't see the movie for religous reasons, and my dd thinks they are just having her do busywork by herself all day at the school. DD doesn't want to do that. I told her if she didn't want to go, I could schedule an orthodontist appt for that day, and she could miss school that day completely. (She's only missed one day so far, and we won't be pulling her out for WDW this year). She said no, she wanted to go. I suggested taking her to it myself first, so we could preview it together, so she'd know what to expect, when to close her eyes, etc. She said "no then I'd have to see it twice".

All I can do now is wait and see.

DH and I are going on a date to see this movie in about 2 hours, we're leaving the 3 y/o at home (with a sitter of course). Will report back.

my family went yesterday. the kids ages are 15,14,8,6. I thought is was scary for little kids. The older ones liked it. The 6 yr fell asleep and the 8 yr old said it was boring. we all thought the 3D was amazing. :yay:
