I used to have one nearby.. at the Woodbury Outlets in New York.. then one day it disapeared, and I have been in a depression ever since...

I believe you are referring to the character warehouse. These are stores that get "left over" Disney merchandise and seem to travel from mall to mall and outlet to outlet. I went to the one in Woodbury when it was open, but it was only there for a few months. There have also been ones at the Jersey Gardens Mall in NJ back in 2000 and 2003.
