Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I have a question and I apologize if this has been answered before.

With the construction starting in May, where will the refillable mug station(s) be? Will they have one in each village that will offer grab and go options?

Thanks in advance!

This is what the email said they sent me.

Beginning in May 2017, the following venues will be unavailable due to refurbishment: Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post. There will be a variety of dining options available to you for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We will make every effort to assist you with your dietary needs.
During your stay, you will be able to make a splash at Fuentes del Morro Pool – our feature swimming location – or at one of our leisure pools. Additionally, recreation activities and entertainment will be available.

It's Centertown, which is Old Port Royale Center Town.

If you look on the first page of this thread you can see its location on the map posted.

Now as to where it will be located in there? No one knows right now.

Does anyone have the phone number for the front desk at CBR? The number on the website does not work. Just dead air.
Thank you!

There is no way to call any WDW resort directly. Any and all numbers you find on the Internet route to a Central Call Center. Even when you press the Front Desk button on the phone in your room routes to the Call Center.

Regarding an e-mail sent yesterday from WDW about the construction and available food options.

My questions were: 1. Center town Buffet: Cost? Menu? 2. What are grab and go meals? 3. A la Carte: types of meals? My main purpose for calling was to verify that there would be food items that I eat and can eat, along with items that my husband wants to eat. I have a possible lethal shellfish allergy and DH avoids dairy due to a minor reaction. But, he can eat foods with dairy, just not a glass of milk or pizza. I am a planner. I know before each trip where I am eating and what I am ordering. I never really need to speak with the chef, because I know to avoid items BUT just want the reassurance that in a place that serves shellfish my item will not come into contact with shellfish.

I called 407-939-1822 the number provided in the e-mail to call if I had any questions or needed assistance. The CM was very pleasant, but for each of my questions she said "dining will know". It appears that the number is only for the actual reservation and not for the questions about the resort. I was transferred to Dinning.

Oddly enough dining was really not able to help me with any of my questions. She referred me to another person at the resort.

This person was able to help me, but as much as I would have liked. She kindly listed Shrimp, king crab, crab cakes, chicken and I think a fish for dinner. This is when I explained that my main concern is cross contamination from the buffets due to shellfish allergy. She took the time to list all of the foods available. It appears that the prices will vary from around $10 - $ 34. I was frustrated by this point. Transferred twice. Everyone was nice, but I do not have the tangible and view-able menu. I was reassured that plenty of food options will be available. She did say that "a pool bar" will serve beverages when I asked about the location of the soda machines....I am a bit confused on this since the pool bar will be closed. Again, I was frustrated and actually I had been on the phone for so long, I needed to use the bathroom. So, for those that have questions like mine...Allergies should be put on Resort reservation. People will be available to assist with allergy concerns. And, it appears that CBR has a good plan in place to meet the needs of the guests. I look forward to hearing from people about their experiences once everything gets underway. Hope that this helps someone.

I feel your pain!! Being transferred, re-explain your concerns again and again, not getting answers.. ugh. I am gluten intolerant and also know pretty much what I can eat and when I experience a problem it is usually because of cross-contamination. That being said, I have never had a problem anywhere in Disney. They are excellent and I DO CONSULT with the chefs and they has saved me a time or two! Hope you have an 'incident free' time!

Huge thank you to @Suzanne74 for the thorough review. We are staying there in two weeks and I'm nervous about the bellhop situation and the Customs House distance to the room reality. Especially with breakfast reservations on my check out day where I'll need to get my luggage checked and on a bus to Epcot. I'm going to call the night before and hope things will go smoothly. I realized the last time we stayed there we drove so we didn't have to deal with this issue as much as we just drove over to our room after checking in. Fingers crossed I'm worrying for nothing!

I'm wondering if they even have a menu yet for construction. Some of that sounds like items at shutters. I'm not sure when you are going but I think we will know a lot more details once construction starts and people report back. Hopefully you can get all your questions answered!

We do this every trip and has always been smooth as can be.

We arrived today and when I walked in our room it just looked unfinished. After a late (for us) night in the park I noticed more. Can someone tell me if this is normal:
- All white plain bedding no colorful runner, pillow nothing
- no luggage rack in the 'closet'
- no blanket for pull down bed, no pillow either but we have more than enough in the queen beds
- this is small but no tray under the glassware, coffee supplies, ect (when I rinsed are cups to use again tomorrow I was afraid to get water marks on the wood furniture)

I'm not sure what to ask housekeeping for in the morning.

Everything. They definitely put you in a room that was not ready for occupancy.

It feels good to have someone understand why I am concerned. I have only had one issue with dining in over 7 trips, but it was a CM who was trying to be very helpful, but was actually making me the situation worse. Yes, it was frustrating and I know that the CM's were doing the best that they could with the information that they had. I feel that I was transferred so many times to ensure that my concerns were addressed properly. BUT not one CM knew initially what the e-mail I was referring to said and I was getting perturbed when one read it word for word, but that was just me :)
Thank you for wishing me an incident free time :)

From how the CM read off the available foods, it did sound like the menu selections were decided already. Our trip is not until August, so plenty of time for the kinks to be worked out. I felt that WDW will make every effort to ensure that the guests experience is still magical with the premise that we will be inconvenienced slightly due to the construction demands.

I am very hopeful that all will go smoothly. I'm just so used to the easy walk to airline check in at other mods and relying on someone else worries me. Hopefully setting things up the night before will help it go more smoothly though.

I'm contemplating staying at CBR with the quick service plan because of the passholder discounts that just came out. I'm confused as to what Centertown is? I thought the Port Royale food court was in Centertown and it's closing? Does anyone know if this buffet would be quick service or a sit down credit?

"Centertown, a dining location, will serve an all‐you‐care‐to‐enjoy buffet for breakfast and dinner"

I'm thinking the same thing as they are one and the same. Very confusing. I also noticed the prices haven't come down.

I'm not sure what to ask housekeeping for in the morning.

We just got back on Saturday. We stated in Martinique 24.

We didn't have a luggage rack. I thought the bench was considered one so I never thought to ask.

We also did not have a tray or glassware. We had a coffee maker, coffee supplies and 4 plastic cups on top of the dresser.

We did have the colorful runner but the rest of the bed was white. No colorful pillows, just white ones. I just thought that is the way it was supposed to be.

We did not have a pull down bed so I can't say anything about that.
