Does anyone know if the GCs offered when staying at CBR can be used to put a deposit on a BB offer?

It's a regular gift card. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be usable for this.

I think the emails for those checking in in April may have to do with checkout date. Because I check in on April 19th and did not receive the email.

Kinda why we're going to skip WDW for a couple of years and let them get CBR done along with the new expansions at DHS and of course the new Pandora at AK. Just feel like we've done our bit going while resorts (CBR main pool in 2008) and parks (New Fantasyland, new hub, DHS expansion) were under construction. Let 'em get that all done and we'll be ready to come back and see something new!

Mainly just as a guarantee to not be near the thousands of high school sports teams down for spring break (I know they don't pay preferred rates.) They all seem to be in Barbados (my daughters team is there too) so if you are going in the next few weeks, avoid that section at all costs.

Do you know the dates these teams are there?? We are going the week before Easter and were going to maybe request Barbados. Don't want to be near tons of high school kids!

Hi all! We're booked into a Pirate room in November, though I have zero interest in staying in that category (it was the only room type available under our rate/days). Has anyone ever had luck booking a pirate room, but actually requesting a regular room and receiving it? Just wondering if space was available in another category if we could avoid walking the plank

When are you staying? I believe most if not all of Barbados is being torn down as part of the construction going on. However, if it is still available during your stay, it is very close (basically across the parking lot) from Custom House. If you are a fast walker, you could get to Custom House and back to the village bus stop in less than 20 minutes as I don't think the park buses stop at Custom House.

I am pretty sure it is mid March thru mid April to accommodate all high schools and their Spring Break schedules.

I agree. Received the email, check in on the 19th, check out on the 29th.

We will arrive at CBR on Saturday. Unfortunately my kids friend is no longer coming with (teen drama), nor is my wife (long story). Knowing that WDW tickets are not refundable, I called anyway and they did refund the ticket cost to my credit card. Thank you Disney, much appreciated! I'm bummed that the airline tickets are not refundable, but at this point that is a sunk cost.

I'm looking forward to some papi/hijas time with my twin teen daughters from Colombia. We are staying at CBR for 8 nights, with the discounted 4 day, 1 day-at-each-park tickets. The other days we will do Disney Springs, resort pool, mini golf, maybe a water park, volunteer at GKTW, and more.

We arrive in December and I thought I read that the mobile grab and go kiosks will also include drink machines for the refillable mugs. I hope this is the case since that is really the only reason we would be trekking over to the food court.

Just spoke with a friend who had breakfast at the resort. I asked if he could see any construction going on and this was his reply: "Construction vehicles all over. Couldn't see much happening though except on the island by the playground." I know that it still too early to see much going on but still thought that I'd ask and post here.

I would keep checking daily. Rooms become available a lot of times, you just have to be persistent

I agree with @buzznina keep checking. Sometimes, people/agents put a room on hold (they stay on hold for up to three days) but don't follow through with paying the deposit. And, then, there's those who cancel.

I would suggest to call as often as you can to just see if there is a different room available. I had to do this recently at CBR (preferred room/standard room) and I was able to "downgrade" when something was available.

For the main pool, yes, should be. There would be a gate. But that may not be the case for a quiet pool
