Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Have a Bounceback offer with free dining booked for 8/17-8/26 at Coronado. I feel like the answer is no but does anyone know if I could switch to
CBR for the gift card? Not sure if I want to but just wondering

Posted this in another thread on this subject, but wanted to follow up here too.

Received and e-mail today from Disney regarding our August trip. It verified we will get the $75 per night gift card, and keep our bounce back free dining! This is a 12 night trip so we're looking at $900 in gift cards plus the free dining! Honestly, we were thinking of moving, but knowing the pools are open, and we don't really eat at the resort anyway, this is one HECK of a deal!

I have not received any emails from Disney.
I booked on my own at ASMu in August 2016 to stay in August 2017, then at some point (probably late 2016) I transferred my booking to a TA. Then about a week ago I called the TA and she switched me to CBR, (took her 2 hours to do it) later that night I noticed my res was gone from MDE; I tried re-linking it with no luck so I called Disney help line and they said my res # was cancelled. TA calls Guest Services, another 2 hours of her time to get my res re-instated!
So all that to say I'm not surprised at all that I'm not getting these emails from Disney, but I am concerned.

I just read on Disney tourist blog that he thinks cbr is the best bet to get free dining. I disagree. The resort is pretty full and with the gift card promo they have no other incentive to give free dining. When I look for my travel dates sometimes there are no rooms available. I think that is why Disney is offering other resorts. They overbooked. That is why I moved my reservation. But then again nobody knows for sure and it's just opinion and speculation at this point. Only time will tell.

I just got a correction email confirming the $75 a night gift card!

Come one free dining!!!!

I am with you - I got my correction e-mail w/ the $75 per night gift card blub but would love love love to add free dining on..

I have a question - if they offer free dining and we have the Table service meal with tax paid for can you use the $75 GC for the tip? TIA.. Michelle

Yep. Taking several buildings out of service, people staying put or moving there for the gift card, many rooms already booked with previous bouncebacks & they very well may be pretty fully booked. Availability with future promotions may be very limited if they are even included.

the food court is in centertown. From a previous post, rumor is they would set up a tent beside it. Maybe that's why the pool bar would be down also.
Seems like a pretty detailed email for it to be a glitch. But would be great if it was!

if the pool bar is closed for construction, is there any other place where one could grab a cocktail to either take over to the pool or bck to your room (or anyplace relaxing)? Thanks

We're currently booked now for 3 rooms at Coronado and are considering trying to move to CBR. $225 a day for food because of the 3 rooms would be pretty wonderful. Should I be concerned about mold? My husband and I have allergies and I don't want to regret moving...

I got the e-mail for my September Free Dining bounceback! :)

I had to book a Preferred room when I booked my package. There were no standard rooms left. If I call Disney will they refund me on the extra for a preferred room, obviously it's not preferred anymore.

This is my first post, please forgive me if this has been answered but I didn't really know where to find this info.

We are staying at CBR in December and received the $75 per night gift card email yesterday. It looks like some here have also referenced getting a $75 per night credit on the room in addition to the gift card. Is this true? If so, how do I go about getting the credit.

Thanks in advance!

They aren't giving that anymore. At first when people were calling in they were getting the $75 a night credit. Then a few days later Disney decided not to do that and offer the gift card. Those people lucked out!

WOW!! They sure did!! I had no idea of any credti/gift card until yesterday upon receiving the email. I am so excited!! An extra $525 to use towards food for my family of 5 is greatly appreciated. I haven't been to disney since 93, I was 17. This will be the first visit for my husband, 20 yr old twin daughter and 11 yr old daughter.

I just booked us here for Dec. 16-21. What do you think the chances are that I will be offered the gift cards since it's a new reservation?

I actually don't mind the thought of the construction. We really just need access to coffee/ drinks and a quick breakfast (fruit, cereal, etc.). If we can get those things (and a great deal with the gift cards and potentially free dining) I think we can easily put up with the construction.

I'm also booked at WL during the same time but thought I'd add CBR just in case a too good to pass up deal works out.

Hi pjmom - everyone even new bookings are being offered the $75 per room per night gift card.. :)

I seem to be a little late to this $75 per night gift card party. Maybe someone could help me out here. I currently have AoA booked for a 11/30 to 12/9 stay. If I went online right now and changed my reservation to CBR, would I eventually get an email about getting this gift card deal? Would I need to call in after changing the reservation or something? If we can get $75 a night that would be great. We only use the resort to sleep, so construction isnt a big deal to us at all.

Hi everyone!

I've been pricing things out and we are thinking about CBR for our trip. One question I have is about the busses.. I haven't heard many good things about the bus situation there so for those who have stayed there is it really bad?

Also people complain about things being so spread out and a lot of walking to get around the resort, what's your opinions on that?

I also don't know if it's been mentioned but I did speak to a CM today on the phone when I was asking some questions and she did say that she's been getting a lot calls about booking obviously and she mentioned to not even think about free dining being offered here because rooms are filling up fast and there may not be any reason to offer it.
