Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

YAHOO! Just changed our reservation from AOA Little Mermaid room to CBR water view for about the same price! It is our first time staying on site, but not our first time with the mouse. When it is time to do room requests, does anyone have a favorite with the water view? Would like to try to be close to the town center. TIA
We have standard view but hoping for a decent view, hopefully not the parking lot. We like having our curtains open (unless we are getting ready) and looking out the window and it just makes the room so much brighter. We are not paranoid about someone walking by and glancing in, truthfully you have less privacy on balconies at some of the deluxes.

Just wondering if anyone at CBR now or who was there recently has received the new Magicband 2.0? I just got our email saying that our bands will be waiting for pickup at the resort (we're Canadian) on Saturday and am curious as to which ones we might be getting.

We received our Magicbands in the mail yesterday and the were the original style, not the 2.0. But as you are picking yours up at the front desk I would think it could be the 2.0 style. Honestly though it's anyone's guess. Have a great trip! :earsboy:

Yeah, I kinda figured that would be the case. We arrive on Dec 31 for a one night room only and our package begins on Jan 1, so we'll be getting two sets of MBs. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Thanks! I'm sure we'll have a blast. ::yes:::banana::bounce:party:

A water view was what was available with the promotion, no standard rooms. We are very excited for the hammocks and beaches!
A waterview room is sometimes/somewhat a misnomer. With all access to rooms being outside, you have almost no privacy to actually sit with your curtains open. A gardenview or parking lot view is almost as valuable to us as waterview.

Thank you! This is the info I was looking for. The resort looks so big, it is a little daunting!
Size is overstated. Yes, it is larger than the rest of the moderates, but it has never been a problem and we actually like the walk, especially in the morning when the mist is over the lake. Very peaceful.

Well, here we are, already! In a few hours DW and I will begin the 3h drive to our departure airport. We're staying the night at the hotel in the terminal and will need get up early for our flight to Orlando. Looks like a good day to leave. A typical snowy, wintry day on the Canadian prairies.

It's been beautiful weather there! Have fun!

Thanks. We live in VT, so our idea of a short vs long walk is a little different than a lot of peoples. We never really know what to expect until we experience it ourselves, and generally speaking, a "long walk" turns out to be a short one for us!

Agree the waterview isnt really something you enjoy from inside the room but for me it adds something to the experience at CBR. Rooms facing the lake seem quieter and more tranquil.

Just booked our trip to Caribbean Beach for April 29th-May 5th! Stayed there once in 2005 but have stayed mostly value since then.
After our son's first trip in September and finding his favorite part of the whole trip was the pool we decided to splurge a little so he could enjoy the awesome kiddie pool and zero entry main pool at CBR and we're so excited!

Hello will LOVE it! And they have all kinds of fun games and stuff at the pools with the CMs!

We've arrived at CBR! First of all we received the "old style" Magic Bands at checkin. They had placed us in a room in building 25 which would have gotten us none of our room requests. I asked them to check anyway and we are now in building 56 in Aruba on the second floor. We were told that the resort was very full. We had a great view of the fireworks at Epcot from outside our room. Our flight landed at 6:25 PM and we waited in line at DME for about 20 minutes. Once on the bus we left right away. We were all checked in and in our room before 8 PM. Sadly it's now nearly 1:30 AM and our luggage is still "in transit". This is the second time that it has taken 5 hours or more. Not likely we'll trust our luggage to DME again.

I don't mind if our luggage takes a long time if we arrive early in the day, but next trip we'll be arriving around 10 or 11pm so we will handle it ourselves.

Building 25 is our favorite!! Preferred building, nice and close to OPR. Different strokes for different folks. Sorry that your luggage hasn't found you yet. Have a great trip.

Went to try to book CBR for the week before Labor Day (leaving the Friday before) and TA told me preferred is all that is available. I guess I'm really surprised this is all sold out already? Not sure I want to pay for preferred I might look at POR or something instead?

I have been noticing this more and more ever since CBR did the last room refurb and went with Queen Beds. CBR will sell out and there will be plenty of rooms available at the other Moderates. There are rooms available at POR, POFQ and CSR in all categories for the week you want to go.
