Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

HI! We are scheduled to arrive at DS Best Western on 12/10. We will move to CBR on 12/11 and then back to DS Best Western on 12/16.
Being that Best Western DS isn't a "Disney Resort", do we have to transfer our luggage ourselves? How long does it take to get from Chef M. to Disney Springs?
from Disney Springs to MK? If we have to take our own luggage, we may just have to drive to the parks those two days so we don't have to go back to the hotel/resort we are checking out of.
Thanks!

Yes.

How long does it take to get from Chef M. to Disney Springs?

By bus - 12-14 minutes from the time you get on the bus until you get off. But you have to incorporate waiting for a bus to arrive, 1-20 minutes.
By car - The same drive time.

from Disney Springs to MK?

By bus - Pretty much the same as above.
By car - 12-14 minutes drive time but you have to incorporate parking at the Ticket and Transportation Center, taking Tram to the front, waiting in line for the boat or monorail, then the 10 or so minute ride via boat or monorail.

Thanks! How would you do it?
Our first park day will be the day we leave DS BW and check into CBR. Our first MK FP is at 9:10AM.
Our last park day will be the day we leave CBR and check into DS BW. Our first MK FP is at 9:45. We have ChefM. at 6:45 and want to go to the movies at Disney Springs sometime after that.
Thanks again!

Check out of the BW and drive over to CBR to check in. You can check in as early as 6:00AM. Now your room most likely won't be ready, though it might. If it's not ready you can leave your stuff with Bell Services, or your car, and take the bus to MK.

Check out of CBR and drive to MK. After Chef Mickey's take monorail to get your car. Drive over to BW and check in. Then head to the movies.

We are getting so close! Only 24 days til we arrive for our 1st stay at CBR.

The bus from CBR to Mk...does it drop you off at the front or does it park at its numbered space and then we get off? Just curious as I'm a crazy planner.

The bus for the MK will go into a numbered stall in the big corral where they bring all the resort buses -- it isn't a far walk from there to the main entrance of the MK -- maybe 5-10 minutes if you stop to look at the flowers, the boats, etc.

Thanks! I don't mind walking but the 7yo and 5yo need pep talks sometimes since only the 3yo and 1 yo get stroller rides!

It drops you off at a numbered space, but it isn't all that far. Pick up is another story.

Hello!
We'll be in CBR in about a month and I have a question.
I see sometimes they offer an upgrade to Pirates room.
I wonder, if ever, that is being offered to us, should we take it?
We're there for 2 weeks, have 1 daughter who is 2.5 yrs old and we want to be close to the transportation and hopefully the main pool (I know pirates rooms are far from the main pool).
What are your thought?

Thanks!

They call them "upgrades" to make it sound like you're getting something better. But many feel it is a downgrade. And I'm really not sure how often they do this.

But if your priority is to be close to transportation and the main pool then I would say no, do not take the offer. While you'll always be close to transportation no matter where you are at CBR (each village has it's own bus stop) you will be the farthest away from the food court and the main pool.

These might help give you some scale -- and yes, it does appear that CBR is about as far as you can be and still be in the bus stops!

Tom

Actually, while the CBR boarding location is one of the farthest out, it drops guests off closer to the gate before driving to the pick-up location. At least that was how it worked in Dec 2014, a year after this image was created when we were there on our last trip. The bus would drop us on the loop that is in the upper left of the image. At none of the parks were we dropped at the pick-up location...buses were always emptied closer to the gate.

Thank you.

Yes, I heard that it's not really an upgrade. Are the room smaller?
I heard the beds are smaller.

We really hope we can be at Martinique.

Rooms are the exact same size. Beds are doubles in the Pirate Themed Rooms and queens or kings everywhere else.

Happy Friday Everyone!
We are thinking of going to WDW this summer. We will go either in June or July. We have 5 people and are looking to stay 8 nights. Many of the dates that I look at show no availability for CBR. Does anyone know if this is typical? Is something going on there during the summer that I don't know about? We have never stayed at CBR and would really like to if possible.

In 2015 we stayed at POR and they dropped us off in the numbered slot but I have heard people say they drop you at the front. Maybe it depends on time of day? We would go in the early AM for RD.
