Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Can I get a review of the pirate camp? Specifically the cost??
We have three kids and I don't want to break the bank sending them to this.

I searched this thread and only found people asking questions with little feedback.

If you mean the pirate adventure cruise, DD loved it. She was 6.5 at the time and had a blast riding around in the boat and looking for treasure. Plus, we got a nice little non-kid time. Worth it for us - we did it the morning of MNSSHP, which worked really well.

Do you mean the Pirate Adventure Cruise? We haven't done the one at CBR, but we did do the one at GF and YC and my son loved it. It's about $37. The kids get dressed up with a bandana and a pirate life vest and go out on the boat to look for clues to find the pirate treasure. They have a snack while there are there and find a treasure chest full of trinkets and are given a bag to collect their treasure to take home. Each location has a little different story but the general idea is the same.

Thanks for the responses. But I actually mean this. I noticed it on the November Recreation Guide that was just posted.

Pirate Camp ($) Join us for fun-filled activities including pirate training, crafts and dinner. Parents can enjoy an evening at Shutters while children ages 4 to 12 are invited to Barefoot Bay Bike Works to join Captain Calico’s pirate crew for an adventure! Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. For reservations, call 407-WDW-PLAY, or visit the Concierge desk.

Pretty sure that wasn't offered when we were there last year... looks fun though!

Hmm, I've never seen that. Sounds fun though. I hope someone can offer some info.

I'd call again. By 3 days out your room may already be assigned. I've never had an issue adding a request at the time of booking or any number of days ahead. I'm guessing it may have just been a CM who didn't know.

called again, and they told me 10 days. What am I doing wrong. I feel so stupid.

hi hi hi hi HI!! :)

So this weekend we booked our first ever New years trip! It's a trip of firsts!
the first time to book so close to when we go, the first time for new years, the first time to go twice in one year, and the first time we are going to stay at a moderate!
I'm really excited to be coming to stay at Caribbean Beach this trip, after 4 trips (that I've taken my kids on) at value resorts!
Just finished reading through all the intro posts. I've learned so much about the hotel. My mom is happy that these rooms have coffee makers and we don't have to pack
ours for her this time. Aww the little things :)

So my big question is... will the hotel be having any festivities for New Years Eve? I don't think we will be in the parks that night. Too hectic! I'd rather hit up rope drop at MK the morning of New Years Day instead.
I booked us a dinner at the Grand Floridian Café for NYE. And we can check out the Gingerbread house and the wonderful decorations at the hotel (we've only ever been inside there once).

did I mention I'm excited??? lol

I just called last night and added my room request. I'm maybe 37 days out give or take. I just called and said I'd like to add a room request. They give me the usually run down of it's no guarantee but they add it. Which number did you call? Maybe that makes a difference? If you get reservations or something else maybe? What bad luck, I've never had this issue before.

Has anyone here ever ordered a custom cake through CBR either for dining at Shutters or delivery to your room? I posted on the cake thread but haven't received a response yet. I know that the options and offerings tend to vary depending on where you order, and it seems even which CM answers the phone sometimes, so I was just curious if anyone here had done it before. I'm debating on dinner at Shutters on arrival night with a holiday themed cake. If the custom options aren't ideal though we may go with The Wave instead.

TIA!

I am 23 days out. I called 407-934-3400? Is that wrong? it was straight to the hotel.

That number goes to a Central Call Center, not to the resort itself. Every number you see listed for a WDW resort will go to this Call Center. Even when you hit the Front Desk button on the phone in your resort room, your call will route to the Call Center. The phone CMs at the Call Center will see which number you dialed and then answer like they are at that resort.

Your best bet is to call 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639). That is the Main Reservation line.

Check the Cake Thread under the dining board. They can answer all of your questions with phone numbers, photos of cakes, etc.

Good luck!

By chance do you have the fax number? Do i just write a nice letter requesting what I would like? We are travelling together

I got this info off another post. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Fax: (407) 934-2723, att: Room Assignment Team

I did! I ordered one through CBR to be delivered to our room on 11/30. Call Dorothy - 407-934-3787. She was great to work with. I sent her pics of what I wanted and she told me what my options and prices were.
