Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I also heard the bus transportation is not very good. I have some ADR for some restaurants at 8:30am, don't know which village I'm staying in yet, but what time should I catch the bus to make sure I get there on time? Thanks! :-)

Every resort can have a bus snafu here and there. But we have found, in general, the bus service at CBR to be great.

Where are your breakfast ADRs at? If at a park, I would be at the bus stop 60-70 minutes prior to your ADR. If your ADR is at another resort, I would suggest taking a taxi as going from resort to resort using WDW transportation requires you to go from CBR to a park then from that park to the other resort.

So there are no buses that take you directly to another resort? We have reservations at Chef Mickeys.

No. Buses do not go from resort to resort. But Chef Mickey's will work out nicely because you can take the bus from CBR to MK, then walk over to the Contemporary. It's about a 7 minute walk.

Good to know, thanks. :-)

Daft question. How easy is it to find your way from Cbr to other resorts, using Disney transport? I'm sure there will be signs everywhere and when I have been to WDW in the past, getting from park to park was easy, but I wasn't looking for resorts then.
For example, when I get off the bus at MK, where do I go to walk to Chef Mickeys ?
Where do I go to get to the Polynesian?
Thanks

We have found it fairly easy.

There will be a sign pointing to the path to Contemporary.

Where do I go to get to the Polynesian?
Thanks

Head to the boat launch or the monorail. Can't miss either of them.

Just got back yesterday from a 5-night stay at CBR (Sat March 19 - Thurs March 24). It was wonderful!!!

I requested connecting rooms with my fathers separate reservation via phone when the reservations were first made and requested Aruba or Jamaica in the online check in. We received texts a half hour prior to our arrival that our room was ready. All requests were met! My father had Jamaica 4536 (corner room) and we had the connecting 4535 with a murphy bed. Great location for the bridge and very close to Jamaica bus stop.

We never waited more that 5-10 minutes for a bus, they were never crowded, we always had a seat. We also never stopped at more than one or two other bus stops before leaving the resort. No issues with returning busses either but we never left at park closing as we had our 4 year old with us.

Had dinner at Shutters our arrival night and it was excellent. All of us were very pleased with the food and drinks. The food court was ok, nothing to write home about, and it definitely mattered what time you hit it..it was either empty or slammed.

Overall we really loved the resort and would definitely be happy to stay there again. I would NOT go to WDW during Spring Break again but we were already in Florida for a destination wedding so it just made sense.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! And thank you for stopping by and letting us know how it went!

Does anyone know the exact times of pool activities at CBR pools? What are the specific activities, for what age range? Which pools? Thanks! :-)

Here's a link to the March Activities Calendar to give you an idea.

for what age range?

All ages are welcome. I played most of the games last year at 46!

Which pools? Thanks! :-)

There are only pool games and activities at the Main Feature pool, Fuentes del Morro.

I also heard the bus transportation is not very good.

Don't believe it! We were there last June, and with a few exceptions, the busing was no worse than at any other resort we stayed at.

And it's gotten even better now that they have split the resort in half as far as buses go. They now send 2 busses at the same time for a given park. One will pick up at 3 of the stops and the 2nd bus will pick up at the other 4 stops. They started this in November and it's permanent.

Do you think April will be about the same? We're going next month. :-)

Probably. If anything things MAY be different by a half an hour. The April Calendar should be posted around the 2nd or 3rd.

Going at the end of July. Got a better discount than the PIN code since my Army son is going.
