Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

They have about 3-4 varieties of them right now (traditional blue one you always see, one that was girly (I have a boy so didn't pay much attention) as well as 1 or 2 more in the display).

Thanks so much! Hope you had an awesome stay!

Hello beach bums :)
I'm checking in to CBR for my first trip to WDW on Saturday evening, and I've got two questions for you.

1- what's the grocery delivery situation? Who do I call/order with, and how does everything show up in my room? Do I need to be present to accept delivery?

2- what are the hours that the pools are open? We arrive at MCO in the early evening and probably won't make it to the hotel until 7:30 or so. I'd love to be able to promise a swim to my kids as a reward for a long plane ride from California.

3- my son wants to know if you can watch the outdoor movies from the pool while swimming. So I'll just ask you :)

Thanks in advance!

1. We have used both Garden Grocer and We Go Shop and both were great. These services deliver your order to Bell Services. Bell Services will keep your perishables refrigerated for you. Once you are in your room call Bell Services and ask them to bring you your groceries.

2. Right now the pool hours are 9AM - 11PM.

3. From in the water, no. The angle is too much. There are some spots on the pool deck where you can get a glimpse.

Just got back from 10 days/9 nights at CBR. We had an awesome room in Martinique room 2556, great corner room (no murphy bed). My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and my daughter, her 11th birthday. On our first night when we got back to our room, not only was our luggage delivered, but there was a balloon bouquet for my daughter, celebrating her birthday but a CBR resort cooler filled with goodies and a balloon bouquet for my wife and myself along with Mickey and friends photos. What a great surprise and a bit of pixie dust we had not expected.

Had a great trip and enjoyed every aspect of CBR for our 2nd stay there.

Anyone know where I can find a list of the water view rooms with a murphy bed? I have checked TP but they don't break it down for the rooms that have a Murphy bed.
We are hoping to be close to Old Port Royal and I am thinking about requesting Martinique. I just don't want to request an area that may not have a murphy bed since we are a party of 5.

:thanks:

Martinique 2415 has a murphy bed. It's a water view room.

49 days till we go! Put a request in for Martinique and a water view as my wee girl likes the colour of the building. Fingers crossed.

We are about to leave for WDW, and just got a text that our room is ready--we got Aruba building 53.Will we be close to transportation? We fly in later tonight--do we need to go to the front desk? Will our magic bands be activated?

Every village has its own bus stop so you'll be close to one.

No need to go to the front desk. Your Magic Bands are activated when they arrive.

I seem to recall a guava pastry from our November 2014 trip. I wonder if they'll still have it for our November 2016 trip...

Hello! I am going with my daughters ages 8 and 10 to WDW in July. We are going with their dance team. I have requested preferred location. I have heard the resort is really big and I was afraid we would be stuck far away from the bus stop, pool, etc. Can anyone tell me what the best location to request or is getting "preferred room" good enough to be close to food court, etc? Forgive me if it's already been mentioned....I didn't want to read all 62 pages....lol.

You can't really request a preferred room as that is a bookable category and are around $60 more per night. So you would be getting a significant upgrade for free, so it's highly unlikely. Every Village has its own bus stop and leisure pool so you are never going to be far from either.

Our 2 favorite locations are Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51. Both are about 4-5 minute stroll, at a very leisurely pace, across the bridge to OPR (food court, arcade, shop, etc) and the Main Feature Pool. Plus the walk is beautiful in the morning as the sun rises over OPR.

No need to read all 62 pages, but just about all your questions can be answered in pages 1 and 2.

I hope you have a magical stay!

Thank you! We actually did book a preferred room.....I hope I'm not wasting my money. So, with a preferred booking, we should be close to pool, food court area? Should I still make a request?

You can always make a request. Doesn't hurt. And you should be close to either the pool or OPR.

What times exactly are the marshmallow roasts and outdoor movies at CBR? I've read different times on the internet. Thanks! :-)

It depends on the time of year. The movie starts around dusk and the marshmallow roast 90 minutes before the movie. When are you going?

If you booked a preferred room, you will be in Martinique or Trinidad north. Both are great locations to the main pool and food court. There are bus stops at each village, so no worry in being close to one. I stayed in Martinique for the 2nd time a few weeks ago and loved it. I was in building 25 and had booked a preferred room as well. I used the Old Port Royal bus stop, as it was closer to where we were.
