Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

My families trip is 12 days out and I am going CrAzY!?!?!? I cannot WAIT to experience CBR!!! Magic Bands are in, ME tags are ready, we surprised DS his count down is going now!!!

Has anyone had good experiences using the touringplans.com room request fax? First time for me, curious on how helpful it will be. Can't wait to share our trip with you all!!!

J

We used it at the Poly last fall and got the room next door to the one we requested. We used it for our upcoming trip to CBR and YC - I'll know tomorrow how it worked for CBR!

Ok arriving on June 7th and booked Water view. my fiancée loves the look of the Jamaica location, is there a way to guarantee a Jamaica Waterview, if so how far out do I need to call 407-WDisney to lock it in?

No, it would only be a request. But it's a very good request as we love Jamaica also. Jamaica 45 is our favorite location.

You can call and add room requests to your reservation any time from the day you book up until 5-6 days out.

What a great, informative thread! We hope stay at CBR this November. We've visited for the food court/and to check out the resort a bit, but it was always at night. Can't wait to see it in the daytime, lol. ;)

Pirate rooms are a different category, they are booked separately. You will not get a pirate room unless that is what you book.
Not true. We had 2 standard rooms booked and they put us in pirate. They told me that when you book standard they can put you anywhere. That came straight from the room assigner- I talked to her direct when the manager transferred her to me on the phone. I fought it by pulling the standard room description online says queen beds and I need queens like I booked. They moved us after much debating.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. The only time they were trying to "upgrade" guests to the Pirate Rooms was during the room refurbishment that took an entire building of non Pirate Rooms out of inventory.

This. :thumbsup2
no, I believe the room refurbishment was done when they did this to us in November. I was told directly that standard means they can put you anywhere in the resort.

Would this include those of us coming from the UK? Only ask as cause we are going end of July it will probably be busy so maybe try and get our request in ASAP:)

If you can't get Jamaica, might I suggest Aruba? It adds maybe 3 more minutes to walk, but the grounds are so pretty, you won't care. We prefer the quieter mauve versus that bright yellow....I've had the color debate with @dansdad before, lol!

Technically it's true that they can put you anywhere. If you read the fine print every room you book only guarantees you a room on WDW property. Views and categories are not guaranteed. We've been moved from POFQ to Sports, Pool/Lagoon view at BC to Standard View at BC and Preferred at POR to Movies.

yanno..for the past 6 years..this will be our 7th..I have made requests and never once gotten it so I have practically given up requesting...Im like this year just put me wherever and if I dont like it I will throw a tantrum when I get there..lol ( kidding about the tantrum..hubby says Im not LOL ) I guess I just dont have requesters luck..last year I called, faxed, put it on the online request...nope. I do know people often get requests though so dont go by me...Im just saying.............. ( practicing my meltdown tantrum as we speak..lol )

I've never really got what I wanted in terms of building numbers, but we always get the King Room, but the last 2 times have been upgraded to preferred without even asking.

Same here. No luck at all. I'm pretty sure I get the OPPOSITE of what I request actually. The only time I've ever got what I requested was when Disney moved us to CSR one year a month before our trip because of a refurb issue at CBR where we were booked, and she put in for the cabanas section. We got a great waterview room. Other than that, calling and putting requests in, faxing, using touringplans fax...nothing. I think maybe I'll start requesting the opposite of what I want:rotfl:

So you were upgraded from a King room to a preferred room with the 2 queen beds?
