Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Is there anyway to call for the internal shuttle while at the bus stop? Anyway to know when the next one is coming -- like the park buses eta on the board?

I was thinking of doing this too for FOP.... how did it work out for you? Did you get on the ride without a hideous huge wait? Any tips??
We did! My sister was at another resort but we met there at about 6:25am for an 8am EMH. Folks already there but we were in front of one the security desks. Very mellow...people showing up with kids, eating breakfasts they brought. Once they opened security and then the enterance, though, got a bit scary. A bit of running pushing, shoving. We still were able to walk on to FOP. Just be prepared for the madness. We were hanging on to each other.

I'm looking for the "best" building for the pirate rooms....for a friend traveling at the same time.

We have standard (5 traveling) and have Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 written down. Is this correct...

Advice from the CBR experts (@dansdad lol) Thanks!

No and no. The entire loop takes about 15 minutes. So even if you walk up just as it pulls away it should be back in 15.

34, 35 and 36 are good locations for Pirate Rooms. And yes, Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are great.

Thank you!!!! Just the information I have been needing!! And reassurance that it is do-able!

How is the buffet at breakfast? Comparable quality to the character buffets? Minus the atmosphere and fun?
Opinions on Centertown Buffet are very subjective-they vary GREATLY!:)

Opinions on Breakfast do seem to be more favorable than opinions on Dinner.

We've always enjoyed both Buffets, but I LOVE to eat and am not very "picky" when it comes to FOOD!lol:)

Also we love the CB CMS-they are awesome.:)

Hello all! I have a question my DSis just asked me, that I amazingly do not have an answer to, and I knew my DIS peeps would be able to help us out: She read something about there being no direct buses at CBR to take us to the water parks, that we will have to take a bus to a theme park or Disney Springs, and then transfer to the parks. Would anyone be able to provide further information on this? We are going September 20 to 28. Thanks much!

We just got home yesterday and I have to say, I wouldnt stay at CBR again. Im not much of a complainer but it was really difficult to get around. We had a few early breakfast reservations and we had bus issues getting to MK for an 8am Crystal Palace breakfast so we decided to get a Lyft or taxi to Boardwalk for our 8am Trattoria Al Forno rez the next day. They wont let the taxis in to pick you up at your building. You have to go to the customs house (which you have to take an internal bus to because its not walkable since they removed all the walkways) and then get a taxi from there. So no matter how you try to do it, its 20-30 minutes before you can even get in a car service.
The overall service was mediocre. We called and very sweetly asked if they could get someone from bell services to come pick us up to take us to the customs house to meet our lyft and they did. But another evening I tried to call to order pizza for my daughter and they never even answered the phone. I called multiple times.
Pros: The rooms were nice and the beds were VERY comfortable.
The construction wasnt such a big deal.

Yes that is correct. From all WDW resorts to get to either of the Water Parks the bus drops you off at Disney Springs and then you must transfer to the bus to the Water Park of your choice.

We are arriving next week (after the hurricane!) and we have a king room. I've seen various recommendation on best rooms to request but when I did online check in I didn't see an option to request rooms. I've heard that the phone wait times are really long right now due to the hurricane, is it worth calling or will I get decent room anyway? Are there any really bad rooms?

Thank you, I appreciate it! Now off to figure out more park travel strategies! :magnify:

Hmmm. I was there in August and had Uber pick me up twice at my village. Wasn't a problem at all. Maybe something's changed?

Does only know what the front desk number is for this resort IF things get bad we want to see if we can check in earlier, or add a day.

Current Plan: We fly in tomorrow at 9:45 am and check into a very close off right off property Marriott, then move over to CBR on Sunday morning. We are bringing a load of protein bars and other things to eat, we do not expect Disney to feed us during this, it is our choice to still come where others may already be there and can't get out.

There isn't one for any WDW resort. All calls to any WDW resort phone number routes to a central call center not on property. Even when you hit the "Front Desk" button on the phone in your room it routes to the call center. Your best bet is to call the Main Reservations line. They can help you or if they can't they can get you to Guest Services who can also help.

I think it is a typical Disney not-policy situation, where it depends on the cast members you're dealing with. I stayed at POFQ for a conference that was being held offsite and Ubered back and forth (because seriously, how could I go to Orlando and stay at a Marriott?!? ;) ). Most of the time drivers had no problem getting in to the resort, but there was one occasion (out of 5 or 6 pick-ups) where a security guard didn't want to allow the driver past the gate. From talking to a different driver later in the week, I gather it is partly a matter of how the driver handles it - saying they're from Uber doesn't always go over well with security, but saying they're meeting a friend who is staying at the resort works just fine - but also variable depending on who is manning the gate at any given time. And it is possible that some drivers have a standard pick-up point for the resort, rather than trying to coordinate meeting in the villages.
