Anyone have any insight on whether or not the gift card offer can be combined with free dining if we were to book before 3/20? Not sure if it would be a one or the other type of thing.

We are staying at Disney in May. My husband and I have considered upgrading to the AP and staying at cBR in December. Would we get an AP discount if we booked room only? And would we also get the gift cards (we will be booking before March 19)? I have searched for the answer to this but couldn't find anything. Thank you to anyone who could help!

You can book before March 19th for December at rack rate & recieve the gift card. AP discounts won't be available for December til sometime in the fall. They are typically only announced a few months in advance. If you book now & change to an AP discount later, you might very well lose the gift card. Apparently when a discount is applied, the reservation is actually cancelled & rebooked. And a new booking would not be eligible for the gift card. Just my opinion, but I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't want to keep giving gift cards & discounts too.

Will you receive the gift card if you book with an annual pass discount?

Do you mean apply free dining if it is offered later? I would think not. If you book now & change to a new discount later, your reservation is actually cancelled & rebooked with the new discount. So that new reservation will no longer be eligible for the gift card. I don't know for a fact that you will definitely lose the gift card, but that is how it has worked in the past. Pretty sure if Disney wanted the gift card to be given with future discounts & promotions, they would not have announced a "book by" date to receive them.

I am still sooooooooooooooooooo confused for my April 24-May 4 stay. I have the email indicating $75 gift card for each night of my stay. Email includes my reservation and check-in date. Are they going to change their tune and only offer for May 1 and later days? Or try to give nothing since arrival is before May 1? Too bad getting a straight answer to be able to make plans as a result is impossible!

Basically, you have to look at the gift card as an "extra" and not factor it in to your planning. You should receive the card for every night of your stay. However, Disney will do what Disney will do. They did not have to do anything as compensation for construction. Yes, it was probably in their best interest for those who had booked prior to the announcement of the construction. Therefore, any gift should be looked at as a pleasant surprise and not be a "Make or Break" factor. Plan as if you will not have the extra $$ and that way if you get it, you can splurge on something extra special!

We booked March 6th, we received our $75 gift card email from Disney on March 14th. Our stay is Sept 7-21, 2017.

6 days later. Booked 3/1 and got the email 3/7. Our stay is 12/11-12/22

Booked our flights today!! YAY...we dont have to drive. Dont get me wrong if we could only afford to drive we would but I hate it..HOuston to Orlando is punishing. United for 4 of us $1200. Not too bad, so excited we are flying...woot.

We booked on March 11th for the first week in October. I got the $75 gc email on March 14th.

We booked through Orbitz in January before the construction was announced and got the gift card emails at the end of February (just after the construction was announced) for our April 21st to April 30th stay.

Does your email state the May 1 check in is the date for the GC? Just curious, because unless I'm reading it wrong, everyone was getting offered the $75/rm/night starting on May 1 ...I don't have an email like this, but we are staying 21-23April and um how awesome if we got GC!

We booked with Undercover Tourist on January 22nd for our April 29, 30 stay. I checked in online at the 60 day mark. Within a few hours I received the email with the $75 gift card offer (which stated to ignore any previous $25 offer we may have received). It said there would be construction during our stay, but didn't give a starting date.

No, it does not. It says "As shared previously, please be aware that Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post will be closed for refurbishment during your visit", but has no reference at all to the start date of construction. But it has our name, reservation number, and April 21 arrival date on it. If I were just an average visitor and not a hyper-planner Disboarder, I would have taken the email at face value and assumed that there would be construction during my stay. It's clear as mud why some April folks got these emails but not others.

I haven't had experience with this situation yet as I just booked on the 15th through my TA. But in years past most correspondence would come straight to me and occasionally it would go to my TA. My TA is pretty rad and forwards it to me pretty quickly during those circumstances. I'll try to let you know if I get any information about this.
