Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We just came back on Friday. I had no issues with wait time, and rarely had super full buses. I think 2 or 3 times we were totally packed in. No complaints about the buses.
Super! Thank you so much. We have never stayed at CBR. But this positive feedback regarding transportation has sealed the deal for me. Really excited about our first CBR visit this Summer!

I called this morning to put my requests in. The CM told me he noted a special celebration pin for us and that by wearing them characters would come to us. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yes, but the characters don't come to you...when you check in they can give you a button if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary...you have probably seen people with them in the parks. It's funny because we always say we are celebrating our anniversary (only off by a few weeks usually), yet DW doesn't like many of the rides I do, so I am wearing an anniversary button, but alone or with DD Cast members also ask if I am celebrating my anniversary ALONE.

Hi! I was wondering if the general fax number for the hotel is the same fax number that we fax our room request to. Does anyone know? I saw someone asked earlier in this thread but did not see an answer. We leave in 3 days and I am so excited!

So I need to get on the ball and figure out our room request since we will be there in a few weeks. I know we want to be close to the food court and ground floor since we have DD 2 who will be in a stroller. What building should we request?

ETA We have a standard view.

Jamaica 45, Aruba 51, Martinique 21, 22 and 23 are all very close to Old Port Royale. Of these, Jamaica 45 is our favorite.

We are here now. We got assigned a room in Trininade North. The room smelt disgusting. They offered to deodorize it but I decided to move instead. They gave us another room in Trininade North. The smell is still there but not as bad. The room isn't as nice so the kids were sad. We are super disappointed. Why do these rooms smell so bad? I didn't feel that I could ask my husband to move our luggage again. We had already had a split stay so it felt like a lot of moving and had been at the park all day. We will make the best of it but it just doesn't feel as magical.
Otherwise the place is as beautiful as we remember it. Kids love the pool. We had dinner at shutters and it was good.

We had the same issue! We were in 3219 in Trinidad north. My dad was in 3220 and his room was fine. Our smell was cigarette-ish. We were afraid to ask to move bc we wanted to be next door to my dad and we HAD to be downstairs bc he had an ECV. Hope it gets better!

I just did online check in for our stay in a few weeks, and requested Trinidad North and a ground floor room as my two requests.
I have two questions.
1. I have a standard room. Is it still possible to get a room in Trinidad North?
2. Do I also have to call and make the requests with Disney?

We are in the single digits!! Fingers crossed no one gets sick. Every vacation, summer or winter, someone ends up with stomach flu, bronchitis, etc :sad2:.
I jinxed myself. Had our first vomiter of the X-Mas season. Swear we're cursed.

I've quarantined the offender, but fear it's locking the gate after the horse has bolted :lmao:. Wish us luck... 3 days.

Thanks. It's unfortunate but nothing I can do. In case anyone wants to know the first room we were assigned was 3249 and now we are in 3104. I just got back from concierge desk. They had sent a manager to inspect the smell. The result of the inspection is that the room doesn't smell. Arighty.

That's no good! We just came home Friday, so I was wondering if it was the same room.

Trinidad North are all Preferred Rooms

Hi! We are leaning to booking at CBR in Aug which looks lovely. My question is about bus efficiency. I just received a 2016 guide to WDW and it is not too flattering on bus frequency/service. Can you weigh in? We will not have a car. We have been to WDW a few times so I can comparE to other resorts. Thanks!!

We actually had the best experience with buses at CBR in May. We rarely ever waited more than 5 minutes for a bus and only once on a 9 night stay did we wait more than 10 minutes. I read a lot of the complaints as well and had a fabulous experience.

Actually there are King, Water View and Preferred rooms in Trinidad North.

But definitely no Standard rooms there.

Any thoughts on why were we allowed to select Trinidad North? We definitely booked a standard view since this was a last minute, trying to stay in a budget kind of trip. :)

That's one of the reasons I recommend calling and adding room requests to your reservation. Everyone has the same options during online check in no matter what you booked. The options are predetermined and limited. People end up requesting something they will never be able to get.

Ugg! Hopefully I can go online and change it to Jamaica, which was what I was going to request, but I saw the TN, and selected it. I am also going to call and have my request noted on my reservation.

Unless something has changed in the last couple months you can't change your requests online. You'll have to call and have them remove Trinidad North and add Jamaica.

Is there a place that maps out what each room at the resort is considered? I know with some of the other Disney resorts there are websites that map out the whole resort and details what each room is considered (level-wise)....does anyone know of anything like that for CBR?
