Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Question, if you are driving and deciding to take the bus to a park, which park would it be? I'm debating whether to use the bus or just drive. Like Spoelrx3 we have only ever used the busses at POP and know that schedule like the back of hand.

Not sure what you mean. There is no schedule. The buses show up at least every 20 minutes, mostly sooner, no matter what resort you are staying at. :confused3

We have had a car with us for 4 stays at CBR and each time it was in the exact same spot as when we checked in. We like taking the buses.

Also has anyone paid for the preferred parking at MK? I'm thinking of using it on Oct 1st.

We have not, but my parents have and said never again. Yes, they avoided having to take the tram from your car to the front of the TTC. But they still had to wait with the masses to get on a boat or monorail. They felt to make the extra $$ worth it would be if the preferred parking was near where the buses drop off so you could just walk to the Front Gate from your car.

Oh I know there's not an actual schedule we just know when to time it, that's what I meant.

I like the busses as well, this is our first year driving so wasn't sure what to do regarding the parks. One other thing I'm wondering is where the stop is to come back to the resort, POP is usually one of the furthest away from the entrance of the park but never really noticed any others.

That all depends on which park you are at. They are all middle to near the end. Just take a look at the boards when you get there. Have fun!

If it helps this is our itinerary:
Mon: 1900 PF breakfast and then Epcot
Tues: HS
Wed: 8:10am CP and MK day. We also have Ohanas at 6pm and EMH till 1am which we may utilize
Thurs: Epcot
Fri: Chef Mickeys and then AK however we check out this day so have to drive as we checkin into a townhouse

We like to drive to all parks, except MK. But we are even considering driving to MK this trip because we have heard the CBR bus stop is far. But I think it depends on your party. We have 4 kids 6 and under and I get too anxious waiting on the buses with a double stroller and worrying if we will all have a spot. Plus if you go early in the morning then you get a front row spot at the parks, especially on EMH days. Going back in the early evenings we usually have to park in the back, which always bugs me because there are so many spots open from people who have left.

Whenever we have a 8:00 ADR at MK we are at the bus stop by 6:45 and have never gotten to MK later than 7:15. If you're there by 6:45 you will be on the first bus. If you miss that one you'll have a 20-25 minute wait. The early ADR buses don't run as frequently as the normal buses.
Great to know Dansdad! I LOVE all your wonderful information, you are always a wealth of knowledge and your input is always appreciated!
This will be our plan!

We also want to take advantage of am magic hours at MK one day so we will plan on the same 6:45am arrival time, Would this also need to be our plan for our 8am pre park opening ressie for Tusker House at AK?
:thanks:

This is what makes me nervous. We have an 8am pre park opening breakfast at CRT on our last day there and I would hate to be 30 minutes late! I would hate to be 5 minutes late! Anyone else had this problem with the CBR buses to MK, trying to get there by 8a? We were planning on being at the bust stop at 7am. I was thinking that would surely be enough time but now I am concerned. Hopefully this was a fluke. dansdad, with all your stays, have you had problems getting to MK before 8a?

Dansdad is obviously more experienced that us with CBR - however, bizarrely we never had any problems with getting to adrs on other days when the park wasn't open early. The buses seemed to run more regularly early in the morning on none emh days.
I don't know if this is any help but a cast member seemed to monitor the buses at Barbados each day so maybe they would sort it out for you if you had any issues.

We've seen this too, usually during very busy times like Christmas week.

17 days today.....I can't wait!
Do I have to go to the custom house to pay my bill mid week or can I do that at guest services by the food court?

:wave2:Home back in not so sunny England after a fabulous stay at CBR, we did get Jamaica but room 4404 at first which is an accessible room, so ground floor with no bath & also seemed a shame to use one when we didn't need it but someone else might, so after getting reassigned a room to 4537 (Murphy Bed in this one Mickeystoontown) we couldn't have asked for a better location, round the corner from the bus stop and steps right down to near enough next to the bridge:thumbsup2:cool1:
Oh and you can also just see the fireworks (not sure which they were) went out onto the last balcony a couple of times to watch them:)

How do the buses work when returning to CBR (or any resort, if my thoughts are right)? Does each park have a bus area with signs for each resort. Similarly to an airport's ground transportation area with different pickup spots for different parking lots or different rental agencies? Is it usually obvious where to go to get the bus when you leave the park?

And am I correct in understanding that CBR does not share buses with any other resort?

Thanks!

Yup.

Yup. At start of the bus corrals, there is a large sign showing what corral number is for each resort.

Yup.

Does anyone have any information on the tie-dye shirts they do at CBR? I searched the thread and all I could find was they were $15 a few years ago. Anyone know how much they are now? Where do they do this? Anyone have any pictures of the shirts? I'm thinking it would be fun for the kids to do when we are there next month.

Going in February, so I'm making ADRs and park plans. I know weather can be iffy, but what times are the pools open at the main and village pools?
