Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Does anyone know how many King Beds per building? I have to book 3 rooms and I would really like to stay in Jamaica Bldg 45. For my dates, Feb 1-9, standard and water view are not available. Clearly, if I want to stay in Jamaica, I don't want to choose Preferred or a 5th sleeper room ....so that leaves me with King. I would really like to keep our 3 rooms in the same building, if possible, and was hoping for #45.
Check touring plans room finder. You can filter by room type.

There are 12 Kings in every building except the buildings in Trinidad. There are zero King rooms in Trinidad.

Interesting....when I go to Touring Plans room finder, they are saying that there aren't any King Rooms in Building 45.
Only the pink buildings contain King Rooms (according to the website). Do you think that is true?

Actually, maybe the Touring Plans room tool isn't so bad after all. I emailed guest services to inquire about Building 45 and here was their response:

Unfortunately, you got some bad information. We have personally stayed in 6 different king rooms in Jamaica 45. There are 12 Kings in every building except Trinidad.

oh geesh! You've stayed in 6 different king rooms in building 45? That is the location I would like to be in, so I hope this still stands as true today. I wonder if anything has changed since those visits?

Just booked a quick 5-nighter here the first week of November (Jersey week). We have a water/pool view. I have visited many times however first time staying. At first glance on Touring Plans looks like Aruba is closest to the Riviera Skyliner station...and not a terrible walk from the main building if you walk towards Riviera to go that way.
From all the vets here is that a fair assessment?
Thanks! Time to plan!

Yup it is. On our last visit we were in building 51 in Aruba and found it to be quite convenient to the Riviera station.

Thanks and it looks like perhaps the Riviera bus station may be closer for MK and AK days...and there is only 1 bus and not multiple stops.

The walk to the Riviera bus stop would take you about 12 minutes from Aruba 51. It would be a 3 minute walk to the Aruba stop and 1.5-2 minutes to the Jamaica stop. Plus during the morning hours, they send 2 buses for MK and AK and the one only picks up Aruba and Jamaica.

Good to know. Thanks!

Would appreciate thoughts and experiences! For my January trip (12-17) I would like to reserve two rooms at this resort but would only be happy with the under the sea rooms. Understood that we cannot be guaranteed these rooms. So is it silly to even try? Currently have a suite booked at AoA but for my travel group, which is all adults, but would prefer something different.

If you want the Under the sea rooms, you need to book a room that has the "5th sleeper" option. It still doesn't guarantee that you get the Trinidad area with those rooms, but if the room category you booked doesn't come with the 5th sleeper, you for sure will NOT get the Under the Sea rooms. You can request that area, but of course it's not guaranteed. Do your research in advance to find out what buildings are in the Trinidad area. When you get your room number, if you figure out that you're NOT in the Trinidad area, do NOT go into the room. Go to the front desk and politely ask if you can be moved to Trinidad area. It's much easier to make that happen if they know you've not entered the original room you were assigned at all.

Also FYI... the Skyliner typically goes down for refurbishment in mid to late January every year. I don't think that they've announced the refurb dates for 2025 yet, but the Skyliner is a big perk when staying at Caribbean Beach. I've heard many people say that they would not stay at CBR if the Skyliner was closed. The length of the refurb has varied from year to year. Some years it's just maybe 5 days. Some years it can span up to 1-2 weeks. Your travel dates might be early enough in the month that you'd miss the refurb. The dates for 2024 were Jan 16-27 I believe, even though I'm pretty sure it opened earlier than anticipated.
