Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Question on the preferred category of room here. We’ve been told Jamaica is the place to stay, but ended up with preferred because that was what was available for our dates. Looks like 5th sleeper is available again now. If we book preferred are we forced into Martinique/Barbados? Our agent told us preferred could be first floor in Jamaica but I have not seen that confirmed anywhere online.

Jamaica is our favorite with building 45 being at the top.

Yes, preferred rooms are only in Martinique and Barbados.

That is incorrect.

Hi all - dipping in this thread with a question... I'm under the impression Disney tested wristbands at the main pool for a bit this summer, but that only lasted a brief period of time. Am I correct? Thank you!

I believe that test is over. I'll know for sure when my parents arrive next week.

Hello. What is the current bus route for the internal bus (and for the park bus as well)? And how often do they all run/how long approx wait time on average? I have seen conflicting info online about the routes on various online resources, so I thought I'd come to the experts here for the correct answer. :earsboy:

Though we've never used the internal shuttle, never felt the need, I could see that it goes around the resort clockwise.

For the morning rush they send 2 buses for each park. One will pick up Jamaica and Aruba while the other one picks up Martinique, Old Port Royal, and Trinidad. After that they go Martinique, Old Port Royal, Trinidad, Jamaica and Aruba.

Park buses start about 60-75 minutes before park opening. I don't know about the internal. Pretty sure the longest we've waited for a bus is 15 minutes.

So excited to be at CBR on January 11th!
We are arriving the week before, very excited. Great photos, thanks for posting, reminded me why we love CBR so much. Very timely, we were considering moving to avoid a potential skyliner refurb as they haven’t announced any dates yet, but we would miss it too much.
I wish they would announce the dates or let us know if it wasn’t happening. 😀

Thinking of changing to CBR and would stay in preferred room. Only 2 nights and going to MK one evening. Is preferred room close to bus stop to go to magic kingdom and would we be close to the pool and food?

Yes to all. Preferred puts you in either Martinique or Barbados which flank each side of OPR which houses the main QS, TS, shopping, front desk and main bus stop. The themed pool is adjacent to OPR. Each village also has it's own bus stop and quiet pool area.

How hard is it to get into the Jamaica section now days?
Our requests are always Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 and 2nd floor. Out of our last 10 trips, 8 have been in Jamaica. The other 2 in Aruba 51. If you book a standard room you have a 50% chance of being in Jamaica without making any requests since they are only in Jamaica and Aruba.
