With people getting their room number texted to them even before they arrive at the resort, this practice has almost stopped. If someone would like a different room, they will have to choose a room that is vacant and not assigned to anyone yet.

Thank you for responding. Everyday is very rough and now I'm trying to cover everything just in case the unthinkable happens. You can never be too sure. Thank you though, I'll just make sure our phones are fully charged each day.

When we arrived for our vacation in August, we went to the "check in building" and there was a CM with an ipad. I had done on-line check in. He asked me my name, looked up my name and said "you are in Barbados, bldg. 15 but your room is not ready yet". He didn't give the exact room number but was able to give me the bldg. We then got our room number via text to our cell phone and it gave us the room number and we just went straight there when we returned from the parks. It was super easy.

Not like it really matters what village/building we are in- just excited to find out!
Have never been to CBR before but I feel like I have the map/info commuted to memory! Lol!!!

When I stayed at Pop I asked for 8am checkin since we were staying at DTD the night before and I got a text shortly after 7am with the room info. 2 weeks ago at CBR i requested 3pm checkin and I got a text around 1:30pm with the room info. We've had great success.

The pirate rooms are being converted to queens. They haven't done all of them yet though, so if you are staying in one that has not been refurbed it will be a double.

I thought it was reported it is closed till the end of September.

For what it's worth. We just got back Sunday and on Friday were told by a lifeguard it would be closed until September 26th. Of course, we all know how these dates can change. I will say it seems like an unplanned closure. It was open the first several days we were there and went down with no notice.

I'm sorry to hear this too. Make sure she knows where you're staying. She can always leave a message in your room. Just in case you have phone issues. I'd also highly recommend an external battery (or external wireless charger) if you have a phone that is compatible.

Wow, these would be so cool! We're driving, so it would be nice to have that to refer to - I'm always on the fence about whether to drive to a park or hop a bus (except for MK, where we always take a bus). If we could just swing by the bus stop and see what the waits are it would make my decision easier I wonder how accurate they are...

We were at AS Movies at the end of August and the boards are up -- accurate because they change every 2 minutes to make them accurate --- I found it stressful !! lol 10 minutes? ok we'll make our fast pass window... boards change 14 minutes -- oh crap-- might not make it :-/ Its all good tho!!!

There's a lot of talk on the Dining Plan thread about whether kids are allowed to order adult meals when on a Dining Plan. It seems it varies from place to place.

Just wondered if anyone had first hand knowledge of the situation at OPR, can kids on a Dining Plan order from the adult menu?

Does anyone know how the temperature and weather usually is in October? I have never been to Florida this time of year and didn't know if it was hot or cool. Also, does it usually rain a lot? We went last year in April/May and it rained everyday.

Our count down is down to 55 days and it feels like it is dragging. I did our online check in and checked the box that says we would prefer to have the room ready when we get there. What do you think of the chances it will be? We are flying in from Chicago so we will want to change out of our winter clothes before hitting the parks.

My brother and SIL got their text around 1030am that their room was ready. We arrived a few days later and ours was ready around 1230. So they were both before the 3pm check in time. Good luck!!

We were there from September 8th to the 16th. Our Flight was delayed a bit, so we didn't land until about 10:30-ish. As soon as the Plane landed in Orlando, we got the Text with our Room Number (It had been sent around 9am). However, we did visit the Concierge because it was for Aruba, which we asked not to have due to the Bridge Refurb. They switched us to Barbados instead, and we got a Text for that shortly after.

If you include a request for a certain village in you reservation, do you still call shortly before your trip to politely repeat your request?

Of our 8 or so stays at CBR I think we've waited for our room twice. We usually arrive between 10 AM and noon.

Yes, my son had the child's ddp and got a large Mickey waffle with bacon and large orange juice every morning for his CS. They do not split the counter service credits. They are pooled together and you can get all adult CS meals.
