Weird question. We were hoping to book at standard room at CBR, arriving Feb 3rd. Well, I'm hoping to book - my better half just wants the pricing info for now ;) For the past couple of days the WDW online booking system is showing no standard room availability if we arrive on Feb 3rd. We can arrive earlier without a problem and we could arrive later without a problem. (Problem: the seat sale that I want to take advantage of is on the 3rd.) But nothing for the 3rd. Glitch in the system? Some sort of huge event that has already booked all the standard rooms?

Thinking of staying next May. Debating on preferred or not. We will need two rooms so it'll be about 100/night more for preferred.

I know nothing is guaranteed, but if we would request close to the main building roughly how long a walk would it be if not preferred?

My nephew loves to swim, but he hopefully be fine in any pool (although I'm sure he'd love the feature one), and the bus stops throughout make it nice.

My only issues are we will eat there at least once a day, and will get mugs so we don't have to buy beverages each day. I'd like to be somewhat close so it's easy to eat and refill the mugs (especially at night and in the morning). I know it sounds lazy but I don't want to walk 10+ minutes each way to fill a couple mugs.

I don't see standard room, but I see King bed available for Feb 3 - 7. It's hard to say if the standard rooms really are all booked up or not, but they usually are the first to go. King bed is about $40 cheaper than a preferred. If it's just the two of you maybe that is an option? Good luck!

I showed my daughter a video of the Murphy bed last night and she is in love! It looks small though, she is only 8 but it still looks questionable.

Our 13-year-old son, who is 5' 9", slept on it just about every night.

Our walk from Aruba to Old Port Royale was under 10 minutes, I believe. Plus, it's a beautiful walk, so I enjoyed it!

Does CBR have trick or treat stations on Halloween if we opt out of MNSSHP or is just like a mini Halloween Party without the trick or treating.
We usually stay at POR and they had a nice set up. A little bit of everything.

Question on Pirate room, how seriously far ae they from OPR?
Maybe 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. At most, maybe 1/2 mile. I have made the walk and it didn't seem that bad, even in June and 90+ degree temps.

Thank you. My husband doesn't mind walking, just wasn't sure if I shouldv've gone with a standard room or Pirate was OK. Never stayed before, only Pop and AoA.

Unless your hubby is into Pirates, I'd go with standard room. Pirate rooms have two double beds, and standard rooms are 2 queen sized beds.

It's a serious walk if you're carrying a tray of food and full mugs. We sometimes like to eat breakfast in the room but not if I had to carry a tray that far.

Anyone know if the Pirate rooms will be upgraded to queen beds with the refurb that's scheduled to be done by October?
If I recall correctly, it is about integrating more Pirate themed motif's, some bed upgrades, and redoing much of the decor. Something about all areas will be Pirate themes but various different decor for Pirates of the Caribbean.

Quick question -- We are staying at Pop Century prior to our package at CBR and I didn't realize how close the two resorts were to each other. When we drive over to CBR, and if we get the streamlined check in and we go straight to our room, will we have any trouble finding the correct village? In other words, are they well marked?

I noticed they were close too. Is there a way to walk between POP and CBR?

Hi not new to Disney but new to CBR. How long does it take the buses to go to Mk, Epcot, Ak, and DHS? How long are u on a bus before heading to the parks? I have a standard room. Don't want to wait a long time for buses. Would it be better to stay at another moderate? Rent a car? Heard CBR is huge. Sorry if this has been asked, and thx.

Magic Kingdom is about 15 minute ride. Epcot is about 12 minutes. DHS is about 12 minutes. AK is the furthest ride. As for size...the size of the resort is way overblown. There are bus stops at each village. Have never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus to any park except once during Christmas. I have more than 60+ days at CBR and have never had a major issue with bus service.

Browsing through the "what resort?" threads I had the impression everything is miles apart and took forever to walk to. I was pleasantly surprised that the resort really is not "huge". Lots of lovely space to spread out in, but even walking back from OPR one morning with my fresh Mickey waffle to quiet pool at Martinique-the waffle was still piping hot (in fact had to let it cool some more). We were in a room overlooking quiet pool at BC and the walk through corridors, down stairs etc to get my coffee each morning at Marketplace I felt was longer than at CBR (although it may have been just that the view wasn't as soothing lol)

We were in Martinique 23-and a bus stop was right by our building and never busy in am (we were one of 2 families on the bus to MK one morning! Got there for opening show). We never used internal busses.

Thank you so much for posting that. All I've heard about is how huge it and tiring to walk from place to place but it didn't seem like it could be that big.
