How likely is it to get the area/building that you request? It looks like Jamaica 45 is a great spot. I like the idea of the what sounds like a beautiful (and fairly short) walk over to OPR for a light breakfast each morning!
I requested Jamaica 45 with connecting rooms. We ended up at Jamaica 44 with adjoining rooms :/ I was disappointed when I looked at the map but in reality 43 is only a few more steps away so no biggie!

Found this info on laundry facilities. Pretty cool
  • Select Walt Disney World Resorts:
    • Guest Laundry Facilities will be upgraded to new self-reporting high-efficiency machines. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards will all be accepted at pay station kiosk machines located inside each Guest laundry facility. Guests will also have the option to pay with coins but only at a limited number of machines at select locations. The following resorts will be upgraded in March 2015:
      • Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, Magnolia Bend 80-85 (3/2-3/6)
      • Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort (3/3-3/5)
      • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (3/4)
      • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Trinidad North & Aruba (3/5-3/12)
The implementation schedule of the remaining resorts will be announced at a later date.

Quick question...

Looking to book a last minute trip in 2 weeks. I would prefer a preferred room to be close but can not find out if they have all been remodeled yet. Last update a month ago said building 26 was being worked on but have they done Trinidad yet? If not, I guess it is a 50/50 chance of getting one, correct? I am debating whether it is worth it.

Also a little nervous about cheerleader groups. Has anyone been there when large groups like that have been there.

We've been there when high school ball players (boys) and high school soccer players (girls) were there. I only really noticed the ball players on check out as there were lots of them on our DME bus back to the airport. To tell the truth the kids were perfect gentlemen and the coaches were the ones acting silly, pranking each other and stuff. We noticed the girls around the resort. They pretty much took over the quiet pool at their village (they weren't staying in Jamaica where we were). They were also at the food court at OPR in huge numbers so the waits were pretty long at times. A few of the girls were really obnoxious while we were waiting for a MK bus one day. Really inappropriate language (little ones were present) and just pushed ahead of everyone once the bus arrived. These were certainly the minority from what we noticed.

Is there any way to make room requests if booking through Orbitz?

From my own research, it seems you have to call Orbitz and they have to call Disney and add the request. We just booked an extra room for my MIL and used Orbitz but haven't called to add the request yet. I read reports where others tried to do it via Disney and were told it had to go through Orbitz.

Thank you!

I've read all the pages and looked at the pictures on the first post ... But wanted to verify with those that have just been - can I fit a full gallon of milk in the fridge? I'm getting ready to place my grocery order ... Wasn't sure if I should get a 1/2 or full ...

Yes it will. The fridges are still the same size as the one pictured in post #4.

I asked this in a regular post but I wanted to confirm here. Will there be a location where I can do online check in for Spirit airlines and print my boarding passes? Will concierge be able to help me with this?

Yup. The Concierge will be able to do this for you.

Definitely not wrong and I'm sending good thoughts your way that you can stay at CBR. We were POR fans until we had to switch to CBR for Free Dining and just fell in love with CBR. We haven't been able stay anywhere else since.

We're currently booked at POR, and I'm wondering about FD and if we'll need to switch. We haven't stayed at either resort, and I'm nervous about switching...being a previous POR fan, can you tell me what made you fall in love with CBR over POR? We'll be there the last week of September.

Also, if we do wind up switching...what building/view should we request. I currently have a preferred room booked at POR so I already have the extra money budgeted for.

We all liked the food court better, the way it's laid out and the plentiful options. Our DS really likes the main feature pool at CBR over POR. We like that every village has its own quiet pool and bus stop so you are never far from one. Plus that cuts down on the amount of people at each bus stop. All of our stays at CBR have been during free dining and when the resort is at capacity and it never felt like it. We always joke that we're the only people in our building even though we know we're not. You definitely don't feel like you're on top of people. It just has this laid back relaxed atmosphere that is such a nice change from the craziness of the parks.

Something that I have seen other people list as a con to CBR we actually see as a pretty big pro. We really like that the check in/check out is in a completely separate building, not right next to/connected to the food court, arcade and gift shop. This really cuts down on congestion in those areas. We too thought it was going to be an issue, but loved it. There is a Concierge Desk in OPR, where the food court, etc are located that can do everything the front desk can do except check you in or out. And when we check out, we always have Bell Services come pick us and our luggage up so no big deal.

We like being able to grab a drink, grab a couple hammocks and watch the higher fireworks from Illuminations to end an evening. The tropical music playing throughout the resort is so calming.

Now POR is a very lovely resort. And if CBR was excluded from a discount but POR was not, we would have no problems going back to POR. But with all things equal, we will chose CBR every time.

We refuse to pay extra $$ for a preferred room or a certain view, unless we stay deluxe then we don't mind paying more for a nice view. As far as the view is concerned, with no balcony to sit on if you are to enjoy the view at all from your room you have to have the blinds wide open. With exterior walkways, you will have people walking by (and looking in, it's human nature to look) your windows. If we want to enjoy a view, we can step outside our room and walk maybe 15-20 feet and have a lovely view. At CBR 80% of the non-preferred room are a 7 minute or less walk to OPR and the main pool. With most of those being under 4 minutes. Other than the Pirate rooms, the longest walk you would possibly have is 8-9 minutes. And I will say, it's a beautiful walk. Our favorite location is Jamaica 45 and then Aruba 51 after that. They both are about a 4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR and the Main Pool. We prefer Jamaica over Aruba just because we love the bright Yellow of the Jamaica buildings.

Awesome! Thanks for the info :) We def want a more relaxed trip this year, and plan on spending more time at the resort so a great food court is a must :) DD8 saw the pool and playground and fell in love. She also likes the hammocks at Poly so when I tell her about them at CBR she will be even more excited.

Not having to worry about a preferred room will be awesome since it will save us a few $$$. Will any building in Jamaica or Aruba work or should we request those specific buildings?

How far is Jamaica from the main pool?

You're welcome. Yes, the pool really is great. And I have logged quite a few hours napping in those hammocks!

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 will get you the closest to the bridge over to OPR and the Main Pool. But we've also been in Jamaica 43 and 44 and they weren't much further. After we had a few stays under our belt, our go to requests are Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor in that order. Now they are just requests, but we have gotten both our last 3 trips.

Can anybody tell me if it's possible to buy cereal onsite please? Trying to decide whether to bring our own or buy when we get there.
TIA XX
