Love our kids too (24 and 25yo) but our last 3 Disney trips have been outstanding sans children ;) We just got back from a long European tour less than a month ago and felt some serious vacation blues ( miraculously cured by a planned disney trip in 119 days)..... we want to do the KTTK tour also! I loved the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour in Disneyland Dec 2013 and we took a Christmas tour Dec 2012 at WDW......so much fun!
We are doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour on Thursday. Was going to do the whole shooting match, but wife said that she just wanted to see KTTK.

@Metz172 we are here as well- Martinique 23. DH and I wandered around in the rain last night (think we toured part of Barbados before we figured out where we were lol!) ended up at the bar for a couple hours last night- Joanne our bartender was awesome! It was slow as the storms closed everything down until about 20-30 minute before we found out way there. Currently at the big pool so the kids can get some swim time in before studios tonight.

Have to say- this resort seems quite large but we can walk to PR in no time at all. The MK bus came just as we walked up to stop- total of 8 of us on bus this am. The resort bus coming back from MK came just as we got to the bus stop.
This place is so pretty!

I agree it seems so large but everything is a quick walk. I can't get over how beautiful it is and it doesn't seem crowded at all. I went to the food court for coffee this morning at 8am and was surprised at how nice and calm it was. I am used to the value food courts chaos and noise.

Buses have been great. Waited 5 to 10 minutes at the most for every bus we needed so far.

I am very happy that we picked this resort. Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. Your comments really helped.

You both are getting me excited for CBR. Been down in the dumps about not staying at POR but if the food court is calmer than POR I'll be happy. That is my only complaint about POR but it was the only moderate to allow families of 5 until now:rainbow:

Yes their reports make me excited also. Won't be there till Oct. 31. But it still makes me excited! I can't wait to see CBR. Never stayed on property before and it sounds like we made the right choice!!!
Can't wait

I can't compare it to POR but I decided last night that I will not be going back to the values. So much nicer here. Did I mention how beautiful it is? I am enjoying my morning coffee looking at the beach and enjoying the birds waiting for my family to wake up.

We have been in the room more then we ever have due to storms the first night and rain last night. Even with two adults and two teens there was plenty of space for us and a ridiculous amount of suitcases to be with out us tripping over each other.

Oh I do remember a couple of posts about worrying about going back to the custom House. The concierge desk is right by the food court and they can help you with magic bands issues, room charges, pretty much anything. Very convienent.

So nice to here these reports!! We do have a preferred room so hope that is conveinent for coffee and the beach. I like my quiet time in the morning before my crew wake up. We really aren't RD people except for AK cause everyone loves that park and getting there early for the animals.
So I like my mornings, by the beach sounds wonderful.

Yes preferred rooms are close to both. :)

I think you will like the food court at CBR. My DS and I usually always stay at CBR, but one vacation about 3 years ago we decided to "mix it up" and stay at POR. While beautiful in its own right , we found the food court to be extremely crowded and hard to maneuver through the stations and drink cooler area.....just not enough space. At CBR everything is much more spread out which makes the experience better. Also, CBR is beautiful and completely redone now.

You won't be sorry! It will be a great stay!

I think that his is the best answer/report for those doubting the quality of CBR to read what you wrote. Size is very much overblown about CBR. Buses are a moot point as well. Anyone can find something wrong with any resort. CBR has the concierge at OPR that can handle everything that the Customs House can. People want to complain that they may have to walk an extra 20-30 yards...what is that, 10 seconds?

Excellent report Metz.

We stayed last year and for us it wasnt that spectacular. The rooms are adequate, but there isn't really a lot here that other than size of the rooms that really out performs the values in our opinion.

Sorry! I hope the next resort is better for your travel party!

160 days!!!! Seems so far away!!!!! We are a Deluxe only family making the switch and honestly, this is the most excited we've been about a trip recently! Can't wait to explore something new :) We are having a resort day, and suggestions on what not to miss??

Can anyone give a recommendation on Shutters vs dinner at resorts on monorail line. Thinking about our 2 MK days that are party nights and closing early. Shall we return to CBR and eat at Shutters or pick a resort on monorail line.

I would go to 'Ohana at least one of those nights!

Never going back to O'Hana again. Last September, the food and service were terrible, and that is an understatement. Gave the waitress my Disney Visa so as not to use my Magic Band, and got charged on both my Visa and Magic band for a meal. Had to get it corrected because we didn't realize that both had been charged.

I'm sorry you had such an unpleasant experience. Left up to me I will go every trip at opening. I loved the feeling of 'Ohana with the music and singing and clapping when they opened. I loved the food! And they were so kind to my daughter who slept through her entire meal! They let her take something even though it wasn't allowed.

I am worried since my favorites are off the menu, the pork(and I don't even eat pork), and the lettuce wraps! But I know I'll love it. One day...I'll be a Poly guest!

We love O'Hana too....and are unable to get in for the friday night during our trip. I can understand with kids, though, that a 9pm ADR would be difficult. We may just give Shutters a try. I have also heard good things about Grand Floridian Cafe! Or what about Wilderness Lodge?

One comment on bus service......my biggest complaint about POR was the busses. We went the first week of December and several nights the MK buses were so crowded they would have to call in more busses. We waited at least 30 minutes on more than one occasion. I am excited to hear about good bus service at CBR.

Thanks all for the tips. We have Kona booked one night and Chef Mickeys the other....really want to let go of that Chef Mickey's res...lol
I may even let go of Kona and jump to Epcot both evenings for snacking around the world for dinner - love F&W festival.
Since this is our first year skipping MNSSHP, maybe I'll just take the kids to CBR, I hear Tigger may make an appearance at the halloween party on 10/31 and we eat OPR food court for dinner.
