this may have been posted already, but i just saw it on another site:

July 29th, 2005 - Two trains collided on California Screamin', a large roller coaster in Disney's California Adventure. 48 injured; no deaths reported (thankfully). Cause is under investigation; may be computer error which did not stop one of the trains in an e-stop location. California Screamin' is now closed and it appears that it will remain closed for at least a month, if not longer.

Details can be found here:

California Screamin is my favorite roller coaster anywhere.

It's a shame that happened, but I think Screamin' is a very safe ride usually. It's also the smoothest roller coaster I've ever ridden. I think even non-roller coaster fans would enjoy it. :)

There is nothing on disney.com about it being closed. I hope they have the problems worked out soon. I was looking forward to that ride during our trip.
