Funny enough I was just reading that this morning on the way into work (I picked it up solely for the coupons in the back, since we are going to Cake Bake Shop). One of the dangers of print media tbh, and a reason I'm surprised they still make the Birnbaum guides.
Starting to second guess whether a studio will be enough for our trip- myself, my wife and 10 year old daughter. We have free dining plan so probably not much use of the kitchen but wondering how much the extra space and washer/dryer will make a difference.

We love the washer but with a 10 year old I don't think it is as big of a deal to have the door as she will not have to be napping or retiring for the night super early.
Yes you will lose some space but I think you will be fine. Just think of it as a normal hotel room.

You mean by not having a 1BR? What time of year are you going to be there? On our last summertime visit, we were so hot and sweaty when we got back to our 1BR each evening that we literally stripped off our clothes and dumped them in the washer immediately. We still joke that we didn’t need to bring any clothes that trip because we washed every night and could have worn the same things next day!
As far as extra space, you’ll be able to fold the double Murphy up into the wall and have the sofa and floor space when no one is sleeping there.

I definitely don't think it's worth it with one child. The balcony gives you space, IMO. If it was under $1K extra, I'd maybe say go for it, but for $2K, not worth it -- that's just me (I've stayed in both).
I have 2 boys age 12 and 9, and we don't think a studio feels cramped a at all, since most of the day we are at the parks, or enjoying the pool, balcony, etc.
IMHO, 1 BR for a family of 3 is overkill and not worth the extra cost

No. There are suites that have CL access on the other floors ( 1, 2, 3, 4 ). The main CL floor is the 5th floor where the lounge is located. Yes, the Inn Keeper's Club is located on the 4th Floor but there are many regular guest rooms on the 4th floor. The bulk of the CL rooms are located within the CL doors. 2 are located just outside of the CL doors. Also there are 5 Deluxe CL Guest rooms on the 3rd floor.
