Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

I wonder if they just meant the repairs from the flooding?
And that was more on the villa side I thought, I thought maybe they meant the pool refurb. I’ve been over to the resort several times and haven’t seen a hint of any kind of refurb, not like at WL where you could see, smell, and hear what was going on despite no announcement from Disney. I do know they had a big air unit thing behind the building, which was being used for who knows what. It was on wheels so we guessed it was brought in temporarily to dry stuff out.

Yeah, I thought it was villa side too, but especially if it's a new CP CM they may have thought of them as one and the same? IDK. Just trying to think of options.

Anyone know what Disney is doing with the spot Ample Hills was previously at!

Need some help. I am reading about refillable mugs you can purchase from your resort. Since everything at Boardwalk is outdoors, where does one go to buy and refill the mugs? I'm trying to decide if I should order and bring a case of water or get a refillable mug. Any insight would be helpful.

Boardwalk Bakery is where you can purchase and refill. Maybe they can be refilled at Leaping Libations?

Ok...for those staying at BW, do you all feel it's more convenient to do the refillable mug or a case of water.

I do both but the case of water is more convenient.
I like a case of water for the parks but I get a refillable mug if I'm there a week or longer. I don't find it too bad getting refills but it is a little bit of a walk.

We always get a case or three of water. Occasionally I'll get the mug too, especially in the summer because I like filling it with ice cubes at the self serve machines. The closest place to fill it yourself is the Boardwalk Bakery, but if you're walking around Crescent Lake you can also fill it at Hurricane Hanna's which is over by Stormalong Bay, or in the marketplace inside Beach Club. I think that's an option inside Yacht Club as well. When Belle Vue lounge is open they will fill the mugs for you, as will the pool bar. This is all pre-covid though. Right now, not all of these options are available, not all of these locations are open or fully functioning, so it depends on when your trip is and progress back to normal operations. I would definitely get a case of water though. Sometimes they sell them in the Screen Door store on the Boardwalk. I think it was $10 a case the last time we bought there.

Ok thanks. I have Amazon prime and Instacart. I’ll look into it. If we aren’t buying anything other than a case, I guess we pay $10. I will remember the screen store. I have never heard of it.

We did both last week-water was more convenient but my son still used his cup a bunch. You can get a refill at the Boardwalk Bakery (the soda fountain is to the side so you can just walk in and refill it yourself) and you can also get a refill at Leaping Libations. When you get a refill at leaping libations they just give you the drink in a disposable cup.

We just got back from a trip at the end of June/beginning of July and I just had to pop in here to say how much we loved the Boardwalk resort! We weren't intending on a split stay but we had issues at the Contemporary so they transferred us and it was the biggest blessing in disguise.

I already knew I loved Epcot area resorts (Beach Club was my previous fav) but this quickly became our favorite resort on property so far. We loved everything from the lobby, cast members, HS/Epcot proximity, the decor, the Boardwalk area, the pool, everything. I could spend all day sitting on the boardwalk watching the boats launching. I usually try to stay at a new to us resort every trip but it's going to be tough not returning here our next trip!

I will remember the screen store. I have never heard of it.

The gift shp on the BoardWalk technically is 3 different shops but it feels like one big shop:
- Disney's Character Carnival
- Screen Door General Store
- Thimbles & Threads.

Once you enter it, you just keep walking and have no idea that you supposedly have moved from one store to another.

According to the Boardwalk Villas pages on the DVC member website, the Screen Door General Store sells an 8-pack of Dasani water for $4.79. These are 12-ounce bottles. If you are doing a price comparison, note that this an 8-pack. A "case" typically is 24 bottles.

I heard that Bellvue Lounge was reopening in July, I wonder if you can refill there?

Talking to some cast that served there pre-CoVID and they said July 9-11 for Belle Vue. It was draped in tarps for a few weeks and some replacements were made, as evidenced by pieces of furniture being moved in and out. It will be a welcome opening and I will pop in real quick Friday to see. If not Friday, perhaps Saturday, and report back!
