Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Just got back from a fantastic BWV stay! I booked a studio, major pixie dust when we got to our room. We had been upgraded to a 1 bedroom villa!! I was so surprised and very grateful for the upgrade. We had so much space, made our trip that much better.

I thanked the manager the next day for the awesome upgrade. Now we are spoiled, 1 bedroom villa from now on.

Hi everyone, thanks for this super helpful thread! We are visiting later this summer and I'm wondering about room requests (BWI). My main criteria are convenience to the clown pool and the transportation buses and walking paths. We will have a large double stroller. It looks like the lobby is not on the ground floor but on the second floor? What about the hallways to the buses, pool, and walking paths to HS/Epcot?

Do the ground floor have walkout patios like CR garden wing that may be convenient to get places?

Thanks in advance!
The walkway to the buses is on the same floor as the lobby. You would need to take the elevator down to get to the pool, Boardwalk, and boats to HS and Epcot.

The patio doors don't lock from the outside so you wouldn't be able to leave from there. I guess you need to decide what's more important to you, first floor or close to lobby. Happy planning!

Checked in to our lovely 1 bedroom today! Bell services was awesome with getting our luggage from the Polynesian to BWV! Soarin tomorrow!
Have a great time! Woohoo Soarin!!

Glad you had a great time! What a nice surprise upgrade. Those 1 bedrooms are really nice.

Hope everyone is having a great day! Hi @Blue Skies and @pas130. Won't be long now for July and August trips. I can't believe we leave in 13 days. Time flies.:jumping1:

13 days!!!!!!!!!! SWEET! I just added a night to the beginning of our trip, but BWI was booked so YC it is! Now I can pool hop for the day!!! SAB Luna Park WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Mexi, so excited and so excited for you!

I just read in another thread that someone received an email saying that the bakery is closed along with FF. I know FF is closed right now but can some confirm if the bakery is closed or will be closing in July?

Just getting a little panicy here.

That's how Disney does it! The first time we ever stayed deluxe as grownups (as in, our parents didn't pay for us), we stayed in the cheapest room possible at GF. We were upgraded to Club Level, Royal Palm Club in the main building, with a sweeping view of the lagoon. Well....needless to say, we've stayed deluxe or at least 1/2 deluxe (split stay) at every vacation since then and stayed CL at GF, BWI, BC, YC and AKL. We've kind of fallen off the CL bandwagon for the moment, but I swear that upgrade hooked us permanently on the value of staying deluxe!

Not sure about the Inn side. We stayed on villas side floor 1 standard view (facing parking lot) and could walk up the hallways to the back of the resort and walk/boat to pool, Boardalk, DHS or Epcot. But, we could also walk down the hallway and exit on far doors and walk to the bus stop via the sidewalk. As Mexi mentioned, you can't leave via patio doors unless you want to leave them unlocked all day.

I have stayed on the Inn side twice. First time with just my sister who uses an ECV. We requested first floor, expecting to be able to just go out the door from our hallway to get to the Boardwalk. Nope! Had to take elevator to 2nd floor, then take a different elevator to get to Boardwalk level. Second stay added Pop (3 fractured vertebrae so also uses ECV). Requested and got 2nd floor near lobby, so only had to deal with 1 elevator to get to Boardwalk level. It's frustrating, but not too bad. Plus you are already at level for buses. But you may not see much of the EPCOT fireworks from 2nd floor. Hopes this helps.

Could someone please give me an update on the construction? Are both the Inn (what views) and the Villas areas affected?

We are renting a DVC studio through an outside company. What should we expect for room requests? We would prefer quiet and ideally a view of the fireworks of some sort. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
