Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Thank you! We stayed there once about five years ago before our cruise and I honestly couldn't remember. We've mostly stayed on the monorail lately. Making my request now :D

Everyone beat me to it, but yup, that is correct. :) The names are on the back. I only have a picture of one of them, though. I took the picture of this one because it's my name. :thumbsup2

And I have it on good sources that the chairs are in fact haunted and can be seen traveling through the long halls to seek out particularly difficult guests.

One other question: I've read in this thread about standard view villas closer to the lobby being right near the luggage loading area near the entrance and it can be noisy and disturbing.

Last time we stayed at the Boardwalk we had a 3rd floor Boardwalk View in the Crest O The Wave section. I've also seen people complain about the noise especially at night, but it didn't bother us at all. I understand luggage trucks backing up are a decidedly different noise than the Boardwalk revelers, but I don't know if I should actively avoid this with my room requests (we would like a higher floor and close to the elevator, which puts us in luggage loading land).

Any further opinions on how annoying (or not) the luggage loading area noise would be vs the Boardwalk view noise?

Thanks again for a great thread everyone

The Boardwalk noise doesn't bother me at all. The luggage racks and trucks drove us nuts!!!!!!!!! They woke us up all the time, at all hours. I avoid that area if at all possible.

We had a standard view 1 bedroom Villa in December. We were overlooking the Villa pool and clubhouse and the only thing we heard were the fireworks from HS. And the music from the closed party to commemorate the Star Wars movie premiere .

Thanks @elgerber - exactly what I wanted to know!

AngiTN - do you remember your room number? Did you use/rent points or book the villa directly with Disney? Thank you for the feedback

Are you sure you had a "standard" view room and not a "pool/garden" view room? For some reason (and I could be off base) I was thinking that when booking through Disney (or renting points for that matter), the standard view was not an option. I thought the reasoning was those were more for the DVC members to reserve and options when booking DVC accommodations (when not a DVC member) were "pool/garden view" or "Boardwalk view". I could be wrong. . .but we have never been given a "standard view" option when renting points--maybe that view was just not available, but we usually book at the 11 month window. :confused3

No idea. The booking says 1 Bedroom Villa - Standard View. There isn't but the 1 option to pick from

This is how it shows when you go to book on the Disney site

I booked a Studio room through Orbitz, and my MDE reservation shows Deluxe Studio - Standard View. My room request options are Ground Floor, Near Lobby, Near Elevator, Upper Floor, Lower Floor, Pool View. I selected Near Elevator and Pool View.

Hi,
We're booked for a water view and just got our online check-in email :woohoo:, and would like to know if anyone can recommend floor or location to request?
Thank you!

2nd floor is the lobby level. If that helps.
We've had 3237 and 3261. I loved 3237 most of all. 3261 was on the corner right over Flying Fish. It didn't have as nice a view as 3237, which is closer to The Bakery

Yep, that is definitely the standard view--maybe it is only when you rent points OR it could be that the lesser (and less costly view) was not available. Thanks!

That is possible. We were there while they were remodeling the rooms, so some were out of commission. Our room was NOT remodeled yet. Not that it bothered us any. They were working on the floor while we were there, not near us and we didn't hear anything when in the room

Thank you for the info:)....Another quick question: If in a lower floor room, can you hear guests walking the Boardwalk, magic shows, etc?
Thanks again, really appreciate it!

We couldn't hear a thing with the door closed

I'm pretty sure I've read in this thread (it's soooo long!) that Standard View villas when booked directly through Disney has a different definition than Standard View villas on DVC points. Booked directly, the Standard View includes pool view. On points, it doesn't. This is why I asked AngiTN since she said Standard View but had a view of the pool.

It's annoying that the online check-in can't differentiate between points reservations and cash reservations, since it offers me the choice of "Pool View" when I'm going on rented points. I'd much prefer any pool view, but instead I'll just have to make sure I'm as far from the luggage trucks as possible. Thanks again for the info everyone!

I agree because when you book a standard view on the inn side the computer gives you bw view as a choice. If someone doesn't know that when doing online check in and they choose that as one of their 2 choices then it's a wasted choice.
