Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Soooo excited! Just booked BWI for Spring Break / Easter! DD5 and DS12 will be so excited! We are booked in a Deluxe Club Level room and check in on March 26th, the day before Easter!

This will be our first club level stay at BWI so I have a couple questions:

Does anyone have any advice about room requests? I'm thinking we would like the convenience of being close to the lounge to bring breakfast into the room for the kids.

What should we do about Easter Baskets for the kids? I'm thinking they probably won't pack well (we are flying), and I don't want DD 5, who is a believer, to see them.

Are the club level rooms recently refurbished? Should we expect any construction during our stay?

Thanks for your advice!
The deluxe CL rooms are located on the third and fourth floor. I think there are three rooms on each floor. Since you have young ones my number one request would be to be on the fourth floor (that's the floor the lounge is on). If you are on the third floor you will have to take the stairs up or have a longish walk down to the elevator's go up one floor and then walk back to the lounge. Of course almost everyone that stays in the deluxe rooms requests the fourth floor so it is luck of the draw what floor you end up on. We love the BWI CL and will be there in 38 days!

We are staying at BWV on Feb 6. The pool is scheduled to be closed from Feb 2-4. What are they doing to the pool (just a good cleaning?)? What happens if the pool doesn't open in time? Do we get to use the BC pool?

Have all of the studio villas been updated to include the murphy bed? We arrive in 2 weeks and are really hoping to get that extra bed.

Do they raise room prices at certain times of the year? I was checking rack rate prices for the BWI CL rooms for a maybe trip this Dec. 11-17. When I looked at prices on Christmas day the Deluxe rooms were $942 a night and when I looked today they are $992 a night. That's without tax for the same nights. Wow a $50 a night increase in just three weeks! I'm trying to plan and I am hoping for a bounce back offer when we go in Feb. or some other discount but jeez these constant increases are getting to me. Is there any rhyme or reason to them or do they just raise them whenever they want because they can? I didn't hear about any price increases, did they announce any?

prices fluctuate based on the season at all Disney resorts. It's always more expensive to go around Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, summer etc

Yes I know that but this was for the exact same time of the year. I looked up the prices three weeks ago and wrote them down to show my sister, when I looked today for the exact same days the rate had increased by $50 per night. I don't think the holiday increase in prices starts until the 18th of Dec. but that isn't the problem anyway. I'm talking about the same dates just looking at them three weeks apart, and wondering how many more times they will go up between now and the end of Feb. when I plan on booking them with a bounce back offer.

We were in Room 5275. We were over Flying Fish, almost at the corner. Great room location, nice view but no balcony, our DD next door had the balcony. Next time I am taking their room!

Thanks for sharing that info...:thumbsup2

Hello all, been back from our stay at the BWV for about a week and I finally have more time to comment. First off...........I'm so sad to see our name of the "LIST". It was there so long.......and now its gone

We visited during Marathon weekend. It was not as crowded as I expected...........there were people but I guess I expected more. We had a studio on the 4th floor (4059). Now I was signed up for a courtyard or pool view. For most of the time I was there I thought we had a Boardwalk view..........you could easily see Spaceship Earth, and some fireworks from our balcony. In fact when they ran the 10K we could hear and watch runners on the Boardwalk. For us it was unexpected and glorious.

The studio itself was small but bigger than the standard room we had at WL. There was a Queen bed along with a sofa. The kitchenette was a microwave and a sink...........and a FULL SIZE Coffee maker! This sealed it for my wife and I...........full size made our morning so much better! The staff also hooked us up with Coffee for our entire stay at no additional charge..........NICE! :P The closet was standard and had a nice safe with iron/board and vacuum. The bathroom was small but very serviceable........worked well for our 5 day/4 night visit. The only issue I had with the room was the chest of drawers. It was small.........only 4 drawers for 2 people o_O. If you stay for a week or more.............not enough space.

We did have an opportunity to use the Luna Pool............and the slide! What a great area! Plenty of lounge chairs and no one was really swimming but a few kids. I would imagine its much more crowded in the summer :-) We did try the slide.............it was great. The water in the slide was actually HOT.......so it felt great. The end is still a bit creepy but its a must do if possible when you stay here.

Finally, the staff! What can I say...........OUTSTANDING. Not one issue........only assistance and smiles.........from all.

WE"RE COMING BACK HERE! Not exactly sure when............but we love this resort! We had a fabulous dinner at the Flying Fish........great..........unreal. We weren't impressed with the Big River Grill bar..........beer choice were small...........didn't really care for them.

Club level rooms were refurbed in 2015 I believe ::yes::....with the way the CL floor is configured I would suggest making "close to lounge" your first request...that would cover being on the 4th floor as well...We truly have enjoyed staying CL at the BWI..but it has very loooong hallways....and some of the rooms can be quite a distance from the lounge....not really sure where the the 4th floor deluxe rooms are locate though ..but touring plans does have a room view finder that might be helpful to you in your requests....

As for Easter baskets...the Disney Florist usually has a nice assortment of baskets that you can put together and with a particular holiday touch too...There also should be some resort activities on Easter itself...

What a nice way to spend spring break! Enjoy!

Gee whiz....I thought they were done with the price increases for the year.....:faint: The bounce back dates for December 2016 run from 12/9 thru 12/22....and they have been available for booking since October of 2015..Best of luck with your dates! :goodvibes

Kook More good info...I always say it..but I'll say it again...thanks for keeping us so well informed on the resort happenings! :goodvibes

Hoping someone could help with room request. we booked a pool/garden view studio. It is important for me to have a refurbed room for the murphy bed (no one wants to sleep with grandpa lol). My 9 year old would fit perfectly on it. Have all studios been refurbed? I was checking out the garden/pool view rooms that actually overlook the courtyard/boardwalk such as room 5059. Would that area be refurbished?

The boardwalk, down near the boat launch, has a bakery that serves sandwiches. There is a pizza shop and a cart that sell hotdogs and chili fries etc. Thats my biggest complaint about boardwalk resort...no true quick service

Someone above just posted they were in 4059 and it was refurbed. No guarantee 5059 is though! Still hearing some people having refurbished rooms and other people not, so it's not completely done yet. I would specifically request a refurbished room. We did in December, and we got one. Good luck!

161 days until we check into BWV. Boy am I looking forward to the heat of summer at WDW! It is so cold here today I won't complain when I'm melting!

Hello! We received a mailing from Disney today advising us of construction at the Boardwalk during our stay in March. Where will we be able to get mugs filled and snacks if Seashore Sweets is closed?

Thanks!!

You can get your mug filled at the Boardwalk Bakery.

Seashore Sweets stopped filling mugs. And is it going to be closed for refurb?
