Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

6 days out!:mickeyjum I'm so excited. I've already started putting things together to pack. The only down side is our DS (23) won't be coming with us, again, he doesn't like Disney, I know blasphemy. And it's always hard leaving behind our furbabies. But still, DISNEY!!!! WOOHOO!! :woohoo:

It almost feels like when we were little kids and Christmas just couldn't come fast enough! I'm jealous because we have 79 days to go. Have a great trip!

We are arriving on Saturday too, but alas we will be at the GF :duck:I will hopefully pack on Friday :):santa:

We have 10 days! To anyone who has been at BWI/BWV during a really busy time, can you tell me if the resort will "feel" crowded? We've been in March and in July/August when it's been busy, but not the 10s that touringplans is predicting for our upcoming trip. I'll be fine, but I'm just wondering if the resort will still feel like a respite after the crowds at the parks or will everything feel crowded? I'm still going, just wondering!

The main lobby and the Bellevue will be crowded, but there are so many places tucked away that you can definitely find a quiet place. The boardwalk itself is nice and spread out. Sitting at one of the tables outside on the lake is relaxing too. Expect lines at the bakery, but they move pretty fast.

Enjoy!

We arrive on Saturday and my daughter is beyond excited to do all the Christmas stuff we have planned. Most info I have says this is the last week before it gets super busy (we return home on the 18th which i saw as the 1st super busy day). Would those who have been there around this time confirm this to be true? I saw mostly 6s and 7s for crowds next week.

I love when I'm still waiting to leave for the airport an email from Owner's Locker that my locker was delivered to BWV. I should only get there as quickly.

We arrive tomorrow and we're wondering if the clown slide was still closed as of today? Is Anyibe there now who can let us know?! Thanks!!

It was still closed two days ago...

We just returned..and one of the things that impressed me about the resort is just what 5disneyNuts posted..there are so many places to just sit and relax...places with comfy seating..and lovely views....:thumbsup2 Gave us an even greater appreciation for the resort!

~We just returned from at terrific stay at the BW....although we have had a few quick stays in the past..this was our longest stay...and we truly loved the whole BW area....I took lots of pics which I will be happy to share....hopefully they are sized properly to post...which is a problem that I have had in the past.......

Did the Boardwalk Ballyhoo Guided Tour...and it was such fun! Would highly recommend it....and a true Disney bargain..as it is a complimentary tour...:thumbsup2

The ability to walk to Epcot and take the Friendship over to DHS made enjoying these two parks even better...particularly with all of the holiday happenings in both parks...Not to mention the ease of visiting the YC/BC to see their decorations....I think this equals staying at a monorail resort at this time of year..and that is saying a lot...since that has generally been our favorite....until now!

Overall..even tho I will always be a GF gal at heart... apparently there is some space in there for the BW Resort too!

I will be back in the next day or two to share some pics...and a few more details of our wonderful stay...:goodvibes

Great quick review.
I too fell in love with BWI on our first stay in Oct.
So much so that we booked for there again (villa side) for a 6 day trip next week and DH and I are back again for a 1 night quicky on 1/2.

The parks haven't been bad at all. The crowds pick up a lot the weekend of the 19th and go up from there. But personally level 5-7 isn't bad. There will be crowds are key points, like Main Street by the bakery around wishes, etc...but those are expected. You will have a great time! :)
