Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

It's possible that there are two different sizes of the bottles - the grocery order form for Boardwalk says that the 24 pack of Dasani water for $6.39 is for 12 ounce bottles. Those are pretty small bottles, right?
That is 1.5 cups of water. I think a typical bottle is 16oz. I am a happy camper right now with the grocery list :yay:

Now that my Disney Cruise spring break is over, I want to add my BWV trip for 12/19-24, Boardwalk View. Our daughter's 9th birthday is the 21st! (It will take some early/over preparing for Christmas and birthday, but should be so great)

WOOHOO! I'll post your dates, LoveKermit.

Hahaha! I thought about that back when I first joined the boards and picked the profile name. After we returned from our first trip I just knew that we would always be a "First timer" with something at Disney! :flower1:

Thank you so much for adding our dates and for all the valuable information you provide! :sunny:

You're welcome!

I am also anxious to see how far the refurb has gone! We arrive on Friday ! second time at BWV yippee!

Your trip is almost here. Hope you get a rehabbed villa.

Is the "texting" feature available now at BWI CL? Last summer while staying CL at CR, we were able to text concierge for almost anything (directions, showtimes, shopping info, and my favorite: additional FP!). It was magical! pixiedust:I sure hope they're rolling this out to BWI for our trip in July! Anybody know?

I haven't heard anyone staying at the Innkeeper's Club report this. I thought this was being beta tested only at CR, like you experienced, but I don't know if it's still being offered. I know that guests raved about it and I think it would be wonderful if it were offered at all CLs.

Paid in Full and did Online check in today. Requested a Boardwalk View and Near Elevator. We are staying in a Standard Club Level Room and will be there a week starting 6/7, so I did not check the box to prioritize the room being ready at early arrival over our requests. Although any room will be great to me since we will be at Disney World!
I hope you get your BWV. The BWV rooms that are closest to the elevator though aren't actually within the Innkeeper's Club door. They are situated in an alcove right outside the door, so you have to gain entry to the Innkeeper's Club each time you want to go to the lounge or get help from a concierge.

There should be a new schedule every month, yes.

You're correct, there is a new schedule every month and I have the link in POST 1.

I can't say enough about the BWI staff & the CL staff. They have been amazing for our first stay here. Especially with me getting hurt yesterday & spending 4 hours at Celebration Hospital. They helped my sister rearrange dining reservations & between calls from the MK to the BWI - they had a wheelchair ready for my use for today. The food has been great in the lounge & readily available. It's been a great family vacation & I can't wait to come back. Too bad we have to leave tomorrow.

Oh, no! So sorry to read this! Are you going to be okay?

oh, this is good information! By entry into the Innkeeper's Club, do you mean with Magic Bands or Room keys?

I may have to modify my request to BWV and close to Innkeeper's club if not. Thanks!

Cases of water are currently selling for $16.99 in the resort gift shops. They are twenty-four 16.9 oz bottles.

It's definitely not $6.50 in the stores. Maybe if you do the grocery delivery through Disney they actually get the stuff somewhere else? The $16.99 sounds right for the in-store price. We always buy the gallon jugs of water (I think Zepheryllis or something like that) for $4 and use those for drinking in the room and to fill up the few regular water bottles we do buy.

Thank you! I will check back beginning of May. This really is a great thread!

I was thinking about taking a quick trip to DTD one night by myself - leaving kids and DH at the resort...DH declared he never again wanted me to drag him to DTD it was so crazy there - haha!!! I did a search and saw that the bus was really bad from DTD to BWV in January. Is it still pretty bad or have they changed busses around? I have to decide just how much I want a caramel apple and to visit the Silver Store :)

The Innkeeper's Club/Club Level, isn't on a dedicated/secured CL floor. The end of the resort closest to the Quiet Pool and IG (north end?) is where the CL rooms and lounge is located. There are non-CL rooms at the south end on the same floor. This is why there isn't keyed access in the elevator to the 4th floor. You can certainly request "BWV inside Innkeeper's Club door."

To restrict access to the CL lounge, there is a door that is secured that you have to use your MB/KTTW card to open. Once inside this very small area, there is a desk usually manned by a concierge. There is another door a few steps from the first door that also must be opened. Once past this door, most of the CL rooms and the lounge is within this area.

There are a few rooms that are outside of the Innkeeper's Club door in an alcove. Each time you want to go to the lounge, you have to enter two secured doors. For us, this got old fast and while the view and balcony was amazing, there was constant noise from guests entering/exiting the CL doors and chatting with the concierge. These rooms are also right next to the Flying Fish sign which buzzes all night and can be heard through an extra window in the room that wouldn't close completely and also allowed driving rain to get in.

Thank you for your kind comment.

Personally, I would avoid Disney Springs until all the renovations are over. I don't think there's such a thing as a "quick trip" over there, unless you take a taxi. I've read that traffic has been terrible over there with all the road construction and I would rather spend some alone time experiencing the parks than traveling to/from that area. There are lots of great caramel treats and apples at Karamell Kuchen and it's a much more relaxed atmosphere;)

Hello! We are staying at BWI for the first time at the end of June. There are six of us so we're booked for a deluxe CL room. We are very excited! But last night I started looking at a map of BWI and now I'm a little worried about the size of the resort. How long should I realistically plan for the walk from the deluxe CL rooms to the Luna pool and the bus stops? We're all pretty fit and walk moderately fast. We will have a stroller so we have to use the elevator. On paper it just looks so far and I want to make sure I allow enough time in our plans when we return for afternoon breaks. Thanks!

We are staying in a deluxe cl room in may. I was looking at the layout on touring plans and couldn't tell how many of the deluxe rooms on the 4th floor are inside the club level door. Does anyone know the answer to that?

Welcome to the thread and congratulations on booking BWI! The CL rooms are located about as far from the bus stop as you can get. I've never stayed in a Deluxe room, so this is just a guess, but plan on about 15 mins. from room to bus stop and maybe half that to get to the pool. Hopefully, someone will correct me if I'm off.

Welcome! There are 10 Deluxe rooms with 5 on the 4th (CL) floor and 5 on the 3rd floor. They all have BWVs, but half of the rooms aren't located on the CL floor. The rooms that are on the 4th floor are within the door.

Do people try to "piggy-back," as in follow you, through the doors to the CL if they don't have access? The other CLs we've stayed at were all on a dedicated/secured floor. I totally didn't realize the Innkeeper's Club doesn't have the same kind of set-up when I booked.

thanks for the information! We've stayed before but not in a deluxe room and I couldn't recall based on the touringplan map where the entry door is. we actually stayed in one of the standard rooms outside the door. I think it was 4263 although that is not even listed as cl on touringplans. It was a nice room though with a large balcony.

If you do on-like check in when do you find out your room number? Not until day of check in?

It would be pretty difficult for someone to "accidentally" sneak into the secure area of BWI Club level. You exit the elevator, go down a hall, turn right, and you see two desks. Those are the BWI Club check in desks. Just beyond those desks is a secure door that is opened with your band. The CM's see who's coming and going very easily.
We love BWI CL. It's always been a wonderful experience for us.

The room is not assigned when you do online check-in. All it does is pre-register your information. You will find out the room number when it is ready for occupancy on arrival day.

Thank you. I'm just excited about staying here for the first time.

A few more questions about our upcoming first BWI stay and I'm going to apologize because this might sound confusing lol...

We're checking in on 6/24. We want to go to the MK that day for a 9am opening. We will be driving from the Tampa area. We have lunch reservations at TCP and were not planning on physically going to BWI before lunch. Our room is booked with a military discount and we are on the DDP. Can we do online/streamlined check-in (I'm not really sure what the difference is) and use our dining credits for lunch that day before we physically go to BWI? What about parking at MK before receiving a parking pass? I've been trying to research this and keep coming up with conflicting answers. I guess we could go to BWI first thing and check in before MK but that would mean waking up a lot earlier to drive and I'd rather avoid that if I can. If we do go to check in at BWI first thing, would we have to go all the way to the CL desk since we are booked in a CL room? Or could we just quickly check in in the lobby and be on our way?

And one more question...my parents will be with us on check-in day but are not staying at BWI. Would they be able to go hang around the pool with our older kids in the afternoon while my husband and I get settled in the room and put our younger kids down for a nap? They would not be swimming, just supervising our 8 and 13 year old.

Thank you!

We are booked in a standard view studio in August , I'm a bit confused about where these rooms are located. Are they all in one area or are they scattered? Is there anything I can request for a better view?
Thank You!

Standard views are facing the front driveway and the inner courtyard. I would request courtyard view, some even face the top of the Eiffel tower in Epcot, you may see some of the fireworks. Front driveway can be bad, I had a room above the walkway to the bus stop once, people walked by until very late.
