Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Boardwalk Villa Studio, standard (cheap) view, rented points through the other big broker.
OK that opens up floors 2-4 in both buildings and the 5th floor in the north building. None of the floor 2 rooms have a walkout patio (they are not at true ground level). If you don't mind a walk from the elevators there are several great standard view studios on the 2-4th floor in the south building at the very south end (x123-x125,x131-x133), where x is the floor number 2-4. Note most of the Studios are available as part of a 2br lock off so they have an adjoining interior door (which can add some noise).

Let me know if you want to be close to the lobby or the elevators for other suggestions.

What's wrong with that? Splash back from the rain? Toddlers can't see out?
Correct, toddlers cannot see out. They might be tempted to stand on a chair and you wouldn't want that.

We will be staying at BWV for 2 nights then moving over to Poly Villas. Hubby and I have ECV's and we are thinking about riding them over to the Studios rather than take the boat. Does anyone know how long it might take us to ride over?

Nothing wrong but some guests want a fuller balcony view without the need to standup or lean on the balcony wall. Again this is only an issue on the "True" Boardwalk View Studio rooms on the 5th floor.

Just to be very transparent, out of the 5-6 studios on the 5th floor, only 2 have the half wall (solid balcony wall with no see-through railings), 5013 and 5015. Don't get me wrong they both have a great open view but you can't see down to the boardwalk or out to most of crescent lake without standing up or leaning on the wall.

Dave, thanks for posting, I thought you were talking about the standard view studios not the Boardwalk view. I don't have to add to my request since we have a standard view.

GaryDis, when I sit out on the balcony I like to see everything and like the open feeling of railings. I wouldn't like the half wall because I would feel too closed in. Nothing at all wrong with a wall, just not what I prefer.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll just relay it as "3rd floor or higher, preferably away from any fresh painting or other odors". The agent at the rental broker reminded me that I had asked about room requests a while back and never got back to her.

I don't want to make it too complicated, since it has to go through the broker to the owner to Disney.

It was a 15 minute walk for us, wheeling a stroller hope this helps.

In terms of studios at the BWV I have to say when I stayed in 2015, I felt I hit the jackpot with my view.

I just got a mail from Disney saying BWV are undergoing renovations and that there may be paint crews and loud noises..

Has anyone else got one of these or do you know if there is reno going on now?

My trip is planned for Dec 10-20.

Thanks,

Does anyone know if the reported work around the quiet pool affects the BWV barbecue? Oddly specific question, I know.

We're arriving on Saturday for 2 preferred studios. I've got a bag of charcoal and hamburgers I may nix from my Garden Grocer order if there is not a BBQ to grill them on at the moment.

Many thanks.

Depends on the speed you are using. Our stays at Disney we have 2 ECV's and me walking. Would take 10-15 minutes (depending on temperature) because I slowed them down when it is hot. When I would take boat and they drove without me lagging behind, they always (ALWAYS) beat the boat!
Have a great stay!

Thank you for info on traveling to Studios by walking/ECV's. We have a little bit of a time crunch on getting to HBD for reservation the day we fly in. Normally don't book anything the day of travel but this time we need to.

Just back from my 5 day stay at the Boardwalk! I got exactly the room request I had put in for, a king bed room on an upper floor. I had room 4308, facing the courtyard at the very end of the hallway. It was very quiet and clean. I had one bad day of construction noise with three workers on my balcony and a lot of drilling. I went down to speak to the the front desk staff and expressed my concerns nicely. They were very sympathetic and while they did not promise anything, I had no more noise issues for the rest of my trip. I could still see the cherry pickers in the courtyard and workers painting along the eaves but thankfully there was no more drilling.

Pros: Very quiet and spacious. Excellent mousekeeping staff. Front desk and bell services were very polite, friendly and helpful. The CM working at the Bellevue Lounge in the mornings was fabulous. So friendly and welcoming. She made everyone feel special. Loved the seating area off the lobby facing the lake. So peaceful! Boardwalk bakery was great for morning treats. LOVED Abracadabar......so cool! Definitely check it out. The quiet pool was lovely and tranquil.

Cons: The Luna Park pool was SO small! I absolutely did not care for it. It was very crowded and noisy. On a family trip, this would have had a very negative impact on our overall satisfaction with the resort. As I was there on a solo trip, I was able to utilize the quiet pool. Buses to the MK very very hit or miss with waits of over 25 minutes being common. I had no trouble with AK buses and loved walking between the other 2 parks.

Overall, I could see staying here again on a solo or couples trip. I am glad I tried it and it has many lovely features but I do think overall, my heart belongs to the YC of all the Epcot area resorts. If I can answer any questions for anyone, please let me know. :)

Walked around a bit more today. Construction is heavy on the Inn side whole area between bell vue lounge and pool.

My villa facing Luna park still sees no construction or noise. Seems most is on Inn side currently aside from the work around the quiet pool at the villas.

Seriously how long does it take to paint a building? We were at the BWI CL the end of Feb. this year and they were painting and scraping the Inn side then. The painting didn't really bother us but the drilling noise from the work going on inside the Flying Fish was a bit much at times. My husband and I kept joking about it and saying at least they will be done with it when we return in Dec. Looks like that may not be the case from what I'm reading and seeing on the Dis boards. I did get the letter warning us about work going on at the hotel for our upcoming trip but I was thinking that maybe they were just being careful and that heck they should be done by now!

I checked today and the grill area is not affected by the work being done there. Its perfectly usable and I saw a cast member cleaning it this morning. Today I actually didn't see any work being done at the villa quiet pool though I was only over there in the morning.
