Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Wow @Dave006, you have some fabulous info! Are you a former cast member?

Just wanted to say it's our last day here today. :( We've had an amazing time and I'll report back in a few days with all the highlights. For all of you with upcoming trips, have a great time!

I think bus transportation is luck of the draw. This trip we've had the best luck with buses we've ever had. Waiting no more than 5 minutes even leaving MK. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
Does it have a dedicated/direct to MK bus? And what time does it start running in the AM?

The 4th floor concierge section known as the Innkeepers Club aka Club Level (CL). It is a section of rooms and suites that are behind a set of doors that require a valid CL room key (RFID Card) / MagicBand for access. As mentioned above, there is one Deluxe room that is just outside the "InnKeepers Doors" on the 4th floor.

In addition to the rooms in the 4th floor, there are 5 Deluxe rooms on the 3rd floor and the Outer building Garden Suites that also have access to the 4th floor CL lounge.

Dave

Thanks Dave for the answer on that. We have stayed CL at the BC , Poly and GF, I'm just used to always having all the CL rooms in the same building or at least just the same floor. Should I request a 4th floor room or is walking up to the lounge from the 3rd floor not a big deal? Thanks for the help.

I was looking at the TP room finder and I see that some rooms have roll in showers. Does this mean that there is not a tub in the bathroom? I have 4 small children and need a tub.

Two things.

1. The TP Room finder is extremely inaccurate when it comes to room amenities, room configuration, etc.
2. Those rooms are usually reserved for guests who need them. It's extremely rare that you would be assigned one without needing one.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping. I went ahead and put that under the special requests part of the Fax thing on TP just in case.

That was our experience last month, too. I was surprised and told my DH he must be a good luck charm. If we had had trouble at MK, I was prepared to take the monorails and walk through Epcot. It would have taken longer, but we'd be moving which makes all the difference to some people. (Of course, can't walk through Epcot if it's closed.)

Just got back from a week in a 2 bedroom suite in the BWV. Rooms 5087/5089 overlooked the Community Hall and pool, and the canal to DHS...with a view of Tower of Terror and the Star Wars fireworks! This was from our balcony...

BEAUTIFUL pic, thanks for posting! CAN'T WAIT!

Please note that there are only two (2) Studios on the first floor with a Boardwalk view: rooms 1005 & 1007. They each connect to adjacent 1BRs (1003 and 1007) to make 2BR lockoff units.

In addition to what other's have posted about the patio door access (unable to lock on exit), please consider direct noise from the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk area is open until 2 AM. Some guests of the Boardwalk can be quite loud early in the morning or late into the night. Note that you would be close to the Atlantic Dance Hall ( 1:45 AM Tue-Sat) and Jellyrolls (2 AM) in one of these two rooms. Please consider a higher floor: 3, 4 or 5. Note: floor 2 is at the lobby level and one level above the actual boardwalk.

Special Note: Boardwalk view Studio rooms: 2029, 3029, 4029, 5029 don't allow a door-connect to a 1BR to make a 2BR lockoff unit.

Dave
Thanks Dave, although we don't mind the noise, I night even be one of the people shutting down Jelly Rolls.

LinnyNad-what Dave said. Sorry I did not get back sooner. Busy day! Thank goodness there is only 40 days until we can relax on one of the balconies :smooth:

LOL!! That's cool. 40 days, lucky you. I have hmmmm 110ish. So I made a request with IPO for a boardwalk view as I was told there are a few CL rooms/SV with an actual boardwalk view. Should I put in any other request.......as in 4th floor, 3rd floor?? I am clueless when it comes to BW. The size of the balcony doesn't bother me much, the noise from the boardwalk doesn't bother me much either. Just wanted to put in a nice room request to maybe catch a view of the fireworks, from anywhere actually. Thanks so much, you guys are all awesome with advice and tips!

Even though we're not staying at the Boardwalk this trip, when it was time to leave EPCOT to go to AK, we went out the International Gateway to get a great at the new Ample Hills. Their single scoops are very generous. Hard to chooses which flavors I wanted. So good. Then we grabbed the bus AK from there.

LinnyNad-as far as I know you should be on the 4th floor with a regular room. There are 5 deluxe rooms on the 3rd floor but even after the expansion I think the rest of the club rooms remained on the 4th floor. The Boardwalk view is so relaxing but the resort itself above and beyond. Now the CMs at the Innkeepers-best ever:smooth:.

Does the BWV provide shower gel?

Yes, but you will more than likely need to request more from the concierge desk--at least that is what we did and they gave us many bottles along with shampoo, conditioner and lotion. :)

If you want to see fireworks from your balcony then don't request a boardwalk view since you will not see any fireworks with a BW view. Now you need to decide if you want try to see the higher Epcot Illumination shells or the new HS Star Wars higher shells and lasers from your balcony. Let me know and I can suggest some sample room "views".

Here is why there is some confusion concerning the BW CL rooms / views:

The Standard Room, Standard View (SV) CL category rooms are all located on the 4th floor, and they all have some type of "view" from the balcony: Boardwalk Courtyard, Leisure Pool or Boardwalk(Village Green/Boardwalk/Crescent Lake). Some are located within the InnKeepers Club (behind the access doors) and about a dozen are between the elevators and the CL access doors.

There are no Standard Room CL rooms on the 3rd floor only the 5 Deluxe CL rooms that are SV but actually have a boardwalk view.

There is only one bookable "Deluxe CL" category: Standard View. Since all 10 Deluxe CL rooms have boardwalk views, that explains why there is only one category for this room type. As mentioned above, 5 on the 3rd floor and 5 on the 4th floor. They all sleep up to 6, 2 QB, and 1 Q pull-out sofa.

There is also a bookable Boardwalk View CL category: here are the view options, Boardwalk Inn Gardens, Crescent Lake or Boardwalk.

Finally, there is a group of Outer Building Garden view rooms on the 1st floor with views of the Courtyard / quite pool that have CL access. Nice rooms that used to be called the "Honeymoon' cottages.

Summary: There are a limited number Standard Room CL rooms that have a true "boardwalk view" and only a subset qualify as a SV room. So while you can request a BW view when you book a SV room, please don't expect to get a BW view. Yes it does and has happened in the past but it remains a "request" only.

Note: I skipped the Presidential Suite, VP Suite and the other 4th floor suites for this discussion but they also have CL access.

Currently they have the 1.25 oz Grapefruit bergamot shower gel (H20+ brand) bottles with Tinkerbell.

Edit: This was verified on June 3, still there.
