My Hubby told me last night when we we're making out our list of places to eat that he loved the atmosphere of the Boardwalk. We've been to Disney 8 times and have never eaten over their. IS THEIR ANY GOOD RESTAURANTS THAT YOU THINK ARE GREAT? I would love any opinions or pictures that you all would love to share!!:cool1:

Definitely try Flying Fish and Spoodles. I hate fish, but I loved the Peeky Toe crab cakes at FF. Also, every time we go we have an ice cream cone at Beaches and Cream (at the Beach Club) every day. Yummo!

What type of restaurant are you looking for? Flying Fish is excellent and a more upscale type of place. Spoodles has great food and is more family type of atmosphere. ESPN Club is great food too, and you know a sports atmosphere. If you want to walk around the boardwalk loop, there are some good restaurants in Swan/Dolphin and also YC/BC. Our fav place to stay is BC and I swear a big reason is because of ALL the restaurant options within walking distance!!

Here is a menu link in case you don't have it.

Let me back up all the kudos Flying Fish is receiving. The best seafood in Disney, hands-down. Spoodles is also very good, and for a different type of place, Beaches and Cream has good burgers and GREAT sundaes in a fun casual atmosphere.

For a indulgent steakhouse meal-the Yachtsman Steakhouse is awesome. IF you have ever eaten at Ruth's Chris, Capital Grill or Morten's, or just enjoy large cuts of beef, seafood and great appetizers, you would enjoy it here. It is not as pricey or as fancy as those, but it is a steakhouse with all of the trimmings. Glass case full of meats when you enter-the gal working saw my button and wished me happy b-day!

Spoodles is a great place to sample and share apps and entrees with the family. Awesome flatbreads, pita dips, rigatoni, pork and red snapper with Mediterranean flare. We always go to Spoodles the first or second night because we love it so much. It can be a little loud in here, cathedral ceilings and open kitchen. Love watching them cook!

Flying Fish is top notch, provided you love fish. The potato crusted snapper was delicious and it is always available as a signature item I believe. My mom cannot eat or stand the smell, so finding something for her to eat is a challenge. Steak and pork are usually available as well as salads and great desserts. If you love fish, this place is a must. Seafood appetizers are some of the best I have had.

Big River Brewing Works is a nice place to grab a simple sit down lunch. If there is a convention at the S&D this place is over run with business people yapping on their phones. Good burgers, salads, and quesadillas-simple faire. It has a diner-like ambiance, outside is nice if it is not cold or super hot. Great tasting beers, a change from Bud, the pale ale was quite tasty. :)

These are the places we enjoy frequently on trips-hope it helps you out! Have a blast:cool2:

DH liked Spoodles that much he changed our ADR while we are at WDW so we went there twice! He went crazy for the steak kabobs which were excellent. The desserts are also very good, the sharing platter means you get a taste of them all if you can't decide!

Boardwalk bakery does some mean snacks too!

If hubby is a big beer guy Big River Brew Works is a must :drinking1 :drinking1 ! Good sandwiches, cool atmosphere and truly the best beer I've had, (and that's saying something!) at WDW. We hit there just about 3pm for a late lunch and had no problem getting seated at the table we wanted.

Enjoy.......:thumbsup2

I don't know if you can still pull it up, but I did a review thread of all the Boardwalk places to eat that we tried in August 2006. I posted it on the review section.

We liked Flying Fish, but did not love it as much as other Dissers.

I agree the Flying Fish is AWESOME!!! The hot wings at ESPN are really good too if you are into hot wings. Cape May Cafe just across the lake is also a GREAT seafood buffet.:thumbsup2

What's the name of the Italian/pizza place over by the Boardwalk Bakery? That was good for casual food. Also, the Boardwalk Bakery had great desserts - and we'd always get our goodies there for breakfast the next day! There's a Sweets Shop, and you can get ice cream, hot dogs, popcorn, funnel cakes, etc. all along the Boardwalk from little carts. We thought the entertainment on the Boardwalk was great - DS7 wanted to walk over every single night to see the magicians & comedy acts!

I love Spoodles at the Boardwalk! :goodvibes

order the rigatoni and the blue spoodle drink YUM!

Spoodles is great! I also loved the little pizza window (next door to Sweet Sensations). So much better than the usual Disney pizza!

MMM.. I could really go for a slice right now (drools).

We really enjoy both Spoodles and the Spoodles Pizza Window. That works great to pick up pizza to bring back to our villa. DD is in love with the flatbread appetizer at Spoodles and will order two - one for an appetizer and one for an entree. Yachtsman was very good also. The appetizers weren't as impressive as the steaks though. DH swore his scallop appetizer had been prepared with frozen scallops. It was OK but not what he expected from a restaurant of this caliber. I had a chilled seafood cocktail for an apptetizer and it was wonderful. And the steaks were excellent. We wanted to try Beaches and Cream for a quick meal one time but the line was out the door and they had no estimate for how long it would take to get food. So we walked over to ESPN. Food there is OK, about what you would expect for bar food. The highlight is the TV's. We went on a night the Red Sox and Yankees were playing and DD and DH had a great time watching the Sox win.
