Disney's Bank One Visa Rewards

In case you did not know, you can purchase Disney Dollars with your Rewards Card. I was not able to go on the trip I had planned in November due to a medical emergency. My card is set to expire at the end of this month. Bank One refused to extend the expiration date so I went to the Disney Store last week and purchased Disney Dollars for all my points.

I bought over $600 in Disney Dollars at one time with my points. It may depend on how much your store has in stock.

Yes every thing counts towards the point--I currently pay my phone and cable bill with my Disney Card--guaranteed 3pts a month--not much but it does add up. Then I pay the credit card in full each month--and my phone company even sent me $20.00 in gas cards when i switched.

I pay everything I can with my Disney Visa - insurance, cell phone, telephone, cable, paper, etc. Then I pay my Visa with an electronic transfer twice a month. I love it! I don't use it for purchases, although I did charge a new radiator on it last week (couldn't pass up the reward points) I never write checks anymore!

Just so everyone knows, Bank One told me that Disney Store is not supposed to be exchanging rewards for disney dollars. They said that according to the terms that come with your visa card, it says rewards "may not be redeemed for cash or its equivalent" (looked it up and they're right). The stores might be doing it, but don't get upset if you come across one that won't.

When does the credit card company update the amount of Disney Dollars you have? Also what is the value of a Disney Dollar in US currency and what can you purchase with them???
